Christina Aguilera and husband Jordan Bratman have celebrated the birth of their newborn son by inducting him into Judaism with a traditional bris ceremony.
The couple, who welcomed little Max Liron Bratman into the world on January 12, 2008, held the Jewish naming and circumcision ceremony on Sunday January 20, 2008 to formalise the baby’s middle name, which means ‘my song’ or ‘my joy’ in Hebrew.
The bris usually takes place on the eighth day after the birth of the child and is attended by family and friends, who then join the couple for a celebratory meal.
Aguilera was raised as a Catholic, but has been learning about Judaism since her 2005 marriage to music executive Bratman.
