The duo made their first public appearance together Monday night at the Cinema Society screening of “Trumbo,” about blacklisted Hollywood writer Dalton Trumbo, who penned “Spartacus” and “Roman Holiday.” “They huddled close together most of the night,” said our spy. The pint-size twin and Bartha partied after at Tribeca Cinemas with Josh Lucas, Amy Sacco, Kelly Bensimon and her date Maximiliano Palacio, and new lovebirds Joan Allen and Shawn Diamond, who locked lips on the red carpet.

Although Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are fiercely private, details about the twins’ lives are slowly emerging. The latest: how the two achieve their signature smiles.
“Every time they pose and smile, they say the word ‘prune,’” a source close to the girls told OK!.
Another source close to the Olsens could not confirm the precise word they use as their smile trigger, but says their smiles are keys to their identity. “It could be true (that they say prune) but unfortunately I can’t say — they like to keep their personal lives personal,” said the source. “They do care about their smiles though. Mary-Kate has slightly thinner lips and more of a playful grin, while Ashley tends to go for a full-on pout. It has been the obvious way to tell them apart for years.”
In other Olsen news, Ben Kingsley opened up about working with 22-year-old Mary-Kate in a profile of the twins in Elle magazine. Kingsley and Mary-Kate share some racy scenes in their upcoming film, “The Wackness” (case in point: Kingsley, who is 64, is straddled by Mary-Kate in a phone booth in one scene).
“She was a joy to work with… I was quite taken by her, especially how astute she is about art. We spent a lot of time between takes talking about her art collection,” Kingsley told Elle. The film is scheduled for release July 3.

FRIENDS of starlet Ashley Olsen are a little concerned over the fashionista’s recent interest in handsome “National Treasure” actor Justin Bartha.
After Page Six reported the duo had a romantic dinner at Patsy’s in Midtown, stories surfaced of his strange behavior and angry antics with a former girlfriend.
“He’s a little bit psycho-y,” said one source who knows Bartha. “He’s a really cute, nice guy, but he was always jumping out of the shot when Lydia Hearst [Bartha's former girlfriend of a year] was being photographed.
“It’s a little strange that he would go after a girl [Olsen] who is always having her photo taken,” the source added.
We’re told that after Hearst ended her relationship with Bartha, “he didn’t take it well” and even went so far as to “scream at her and call her a bitch” at an Oscar party this year.
“Lydia broke up with him in August 2007, and at the In Style party during the Oscars in February 2008, Justin went up to her and yelled at her in front of everyone,” said an insider who witnessed the incident.
When the couple broke up, Bartha was evidently crushed. “Lydia was so young, and he was just too intense about her,” the source said. “Justin is still really p – - – ed that she broke up with him in August.”
Bartha is gaining status while here in New York shooting “The Rebound” with Catherine Zeta-Jones, and has been avoiding the cameras so far – but that’s likely to change if he takes up with Olsen.
Hearst, meanwhile, is in Vienna for the Life Ball, where she’ll walk in the Agent Provocateur show. She could not be reached, but her rep confirmed the incident at the In Style party and told us, “There are no hard feelings between Lydia and Justin.”
Bartha’s reps didn’t return our multiple calls and e-mails.

The 21-year-old twins — who topped last year’s Forbes Top Earning Stars Under 21 list with an estimated fortune of $40 million each — are publishing a coffee table book, Influence, through Penguin Young Readers Group.
It will feature “the most interesting, challenging, creative people we know — the ones who helped pave the way for us and our generation,” Ashley said in a statement.
Among them: shoe guru Christian Louboutin, actress Lauren Hutton, photographer Terry Richardson and writer Bob Colacello.
“Ashley and I interviewed the people who have inspired us, with the hope that they will inspire and teach others,” Mary-Kate said.
The book — due this fall — will also feature exclusive photos of the twins and never-before-seen interviews with the two.

Ashley Olsen, 21, and Jared Leto, 36 — who dated briefly in 2005 — turned heads while holding hands at the Art of Elysium gala in L.A. on Jan. 12, Us Weekly reports in its latest issue, on newsstands now.
