Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt

Brad Pitt was grabbed, pushed and spun around by a plainclothes security guard at the premiere of his new movie The Curious Case of Benjamin Button in L.A. on Monday.

Pitt arrived at the Bruin Theatre in Westwood about a half hour before the film was scheduled to end, as he was supposed to talk to the audience and answer their questions about the film.

Some photographers knew he’d be there, and as he entered the lobby, they followed him in and attempted to take photos.

Seeing the commotion, the plainclothes security guard went after Pitt in lieu of shooing away the photographers. Oddly, the guard appeared to be clutching a brochure for a karate studio in his teeth as he manhandled the actor.

Pitt looked bewildered and shaken, but he was able to pull free and go up a stairway to escape.

The stairway only led up to bathrooms.

Pitt had to wait a bit while the lobby was cleared before he was able to walk back down without any problems.

UPDATE: In a statement, an Executive Protection Specialist tells Entertainment Tonight that he was attempting to get Pitt away from the aggressive photographers:

“We were told by Mr. Pitt’s people that he was being followed by numerous paparazzi that ran a minimum of two red lights to keep up with Mr. Pitt. When Mr. Pitt arrived at the theater approximately seven paparazzi bum-rushed the front door of the theater and began to rush inside. It’s security’s sole priority to protect the talent and I removed Mr. Pitt immediately from what could have been a potentially dangerous situation.”"We were told by Mr. Pitt’s people that he was being followed by numerous paparazzi that ran a minimum of two red lights to keep up with Mr. Pitt. BRAD Pitt professes his love for Angelina Jolie in an interview with Oprah Winfrey that airs next week, and even says they want more kids – but some are asking why he’s been traveling on his own lately. Pitt showed up solo in Chicago on Election Day to watch Barack Obama become president-elect. He then flew solo to New York where he was seen out Wednesday night with old pal Catherine Keener at a West Village eatery. Thursday, Pitt was with pals at Il Cantinori. “They’ve never really been apart since they met on the set of ‘Mr. & Mrs. Smith,’ so it’s odd,” said one Hollywood observer. Pitt is said to be here shooting “Inglourious Basterds,” Quentin Tarantino’s remake of the ’70s flick “Inglorious Bastards.” In the past, Jolie and their brood of six kids have always accompanied him on his jaunts because both parents vowed to rear their kids themselves. A rep for Pitt didn’t return e-mails.

Sure, it’s only been a few months since Angelina Jolie gave birth to twins Vivienne and Knox, but the actress and her baby-daddy Brad Pitt are not only already plotting the next addition to their family — they’re talking about getting hitched!

“Angelina has always toyed with the idea of getting married to Brad,” a family friend reveals in the new issue of OK!. “She’s always followed her gut instincts in life, love and family. As the kids get older and they add to their brood, they want to make as few complications as possible.”

By Angie’s own admission, the kids are beginning to wonder when their parents will walk down the aisle. “We’ve done everything backwards,” she confessed recently to the Italian edition of Vanity Fair.

As for the nuptials themselves, the insider tells OK!, “Don’t expect some lavish Hollywood wedding. And neither of them are religious, so it will be simple.”

Another thing to be sure of is that the spotaneous couple won’t be giving everyone a huge heads-up on the date. “They’ll wake up one morning and know it’s the right time,” adds the pal. “With everything that they do, the decisions they make are for the greater good of the children and the family.”

What does it take to keep the Jolie-Pitt household running smoothly? A fleet of cars and a half-dozen nannies, for starters.

“We’ve provided them with more than 20 Volkswagens while they’re here in Berlin,” Mya Walters, a public-relations manager for the car company, told Life & Style magazine.

The magazine reports that the Pitt-Jolie Berlin digs also have a dinner table that seats 16 — that’s just a couple extra seats when you factor in their own family of eight and the six nannies the couple sometimes requires.

During their recent trip to New Orleans, the magazine reports that they tried to make do with four nannies, but needed to fly in an additional two to combat the chaos.

Don’t judge: it’s all for the sake of the family. Family friend Wyclef Jean said, “They make plenty of time for the kids, they’re great parents.”

If Angelina Jolie finally marries Brad Pitt, he can thank that smelly green ogre Shrek. “Usually people fall in love and everything revolves around the ritual of marriage. Children are an afterthought,” says Jolie. “We did everything backwards. But sooner or later, it will be the kids who ask us. They see films and start asking questions. Such as, ‘Why are Shrek and Fiona married and you’re not?’ ”

The “Changeling” actress also told the Italian edition of Vanity Fair that she may quit acting.

“The kids are my priority, so it’s possible that from now on, I will make fewer movies. I may even stop altogether. I no longer have the ambition I had in my 20s.”

The 33-year-old mom of six added: “My life is a lot more chaotic and adventurous now. Brad and I pilot airplanes, we travel nonstop, we go to difficult places, and we have chosen to do it taking all of the kids with us. I feel a lot braver now than when I was an angry young woman.”

Gone are the days when Jolie scarred herself with knives and considered suicide. “I used to think I was unstable, because I had this thirst for something.
“I could never figure out what it was. I couldn’t sleep at night, and I always wanted to be somewhere else, and I have a window tattooed, this little box, and it’s because wherever I was, I wanted to be somewhere else. And I always saw myself – wherever I was in life – staring out the window.

“I knew little about the world, and I was completely self-absorbed. It was only when I came out of my shell and started taking care of others that I found the real Angelina.

“Sure, I am still restless, but do you know that my kids are the same way? We were in France these last few months and after a while they started asking when we could get back on a plane.”

The family is currently in Germany, where Pitt is filming Quentin Tarantino’s World War II drama “Inglorious Bastards.”

The Pitt-Jolie clan were the picture of family bliss yesterday as they visited a housing project in New Orleans.

Brad and Angelina showed the world that they are still crazy about each other as they embraced and gazed at each other lovingly while two of their six children looked on.

The loved-up pair were all smiles as they played with their oldest children Maddox, 7, and Pax Thien, 4, in a playground outside the centre.

Pitt is part of a commitment to build 150 new homes in the city’s Lower Ninth Ward.

The actor’s Make It Right project aims to re-build the New Orleans community that was hardest hit by Hurricane Katrina.

Meanwhile Angelina recently admitted that she turned to her late mother Marcheline Bertrand for inspiration in her new movie.

The 33-year-old is tipped for an Oscar for her role as a mother desperately seeking her kidnapped son in Clint Eastwood’s The Changeling.

‘My mother would fight that hard for her children,’ said the star.

She says the role made her think about her own children, with her baby twins taking the number to six.

She said the movie made her ‘confront my worst fear. It made me feel closer to my kids and grateful every night just to know where they are and that they’re healthy’.

She added: ‘Making the phone call [in the film], saying that my kid was kidnapped, was difficult. I don’t even like saying it right now.’

Angelina also revealed that her children produce ‘the greatest chaos’.

‘They’re constantly loud, constantly messy,’ she said.

But she admits that she and Brad are eager to add to their family ‘one way or another’, referring to how they have three children from adoption as well as three from Angie’s own childbirth.

Angelina took half of her extensive brood out for an afternoon stroll to the shops in New Orleans yesterday.
