The often cash-strapped celebutard hit the Maxim 100 party at the Barker Hangar event space in Santa Monica the other day looking for someone to pal around with. “Brandon came totally alone, without any friends, and was just following people around the party,” a witness told us. “He was sweating and roaming the red carpet and kept following Kim Kardashian and her sisters around. Everyone was a little creeped out.”

BRANDON “Greasy Bear” Davis was overheard calling his grandmother Barbara Davis a hypocrite for accepting an invite from Graydon Carter to attend the Vanity Fair Oscar bash at the Sunset Tower Hotel.

The Beverly Hills grand dame vowed never to speak to Carter again after the hard-hitting article Vanity Fair did on the Davis clan in 2005. Brandon didn’t even try to crash the soiree and neither did his brother, Jason “Gummy Bear” Davis.

The triumphant return of the VF Oscar party – canceled last year because of the writers’ strike – featured Kate Winslet clutching her Oscar, Vivi Nevo and fiancée Ziyi Zhang sitting with Brian Grazer, Wendi Murdoch and Phillip Dauman, and MySpace founder Chris DeWolfe huddling with Lyor Cohen at the inside bar.

Elsewhere, Madonna, Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher threw a party, as they did last year, at Guy Oseary’s house, but with less success. Rosario Dawson, Nicole Kidman, Keith Urban, Chris Rock, Sharon Stone and Jessica Biel left early for the Vanity Fair bash.

Samantha Ronson and Lindsay Lohan had a spat at Oseary’s. A source said, “Sam was so nice and chill. She came up to the deejay booth to speak to Jus Ske and DJ Kiss. But then Lindsay came up and started to argue with Sam. The more Sam tried to calm her down, the more irate Lindsay became.”

Meanwhile, Prince’s bash was a full-on “disaster.” Our spy added, “At around 6 p.m., Prince’s camp abruptly announced the party had been moved from his house to Club Avalon and would be open to the public with a $100 admittance fee. There was no open bar, not even in VIP.”

The Us Weekly crowd went to Patrick Whitesell, Rick Yorn and Mike DeLuca’s bash in the Hollywood Hills. Paris Hilton, Stavros Niarchos, Jeremy Piven and Mary-Kate Olsen drank until 5 a.m. amid a throng of “20-somethings. Which is weird,” said our spy, “since Patrick, Mike and Rick are all now married in their 40s.”

We don’t know how he pays for his drinks, but the hot, sweaty mess that is Brandon Davis is still hitting the clubs. On Wednesday night, a nauseated tipster saw Greasy Bear grinding on some bimbos at My House in Hollywood. “Brandon was a complete mess,” we’re told. “He had two tall girls around him all night and at one point made a total scene” while getting raunchy with women on the dance floor. “Everyone was in shock, and the girls were really sleazy club girls.”

BRANDON (“Greasy Bear”) Davis’ well-documented cash-flow problems just got worse.

The sweaty-palmed oil heir was recently banned from a high-end underground casino in West Hollywood for abusing credit privileges and showing up “zonked out of his mind,” a source close to Davis tells Page Six.

“He would consistently show up behaving erratically and make lengthy trips to the bathroom,” says the source, an investment banker who’s a regular patron of the gambling den where the minimum buy-in is $5,000. “Finally, management told him he was no longer welcome.”

It’s just the latest in a string of credit problems for Davis, who friends say has turned into a “professional, high-end couch surfer” after reportedly being cut off by his parents.

Back in September, Page Six reported that Davis rang up $110,000 in charges on a credit card he stole from Carnegie Mellon heir Matthew Mellon, $75,000 on cards he swiped from art dealer Andy Valmorbida, and an additional $100,000 on the bookie account of a student friend.

Davis is fond of telling people he makes money by dealing art. But HollywoodInterrupted.com’s Mark Ebner reports in his upcoming tome, “Six Degrees of Paris Hilton,” that his “dealing” mainly entails buying paintings from LA galleries and then reselling them to his family at a huge mark-up.

The book also claims that Davis sells stories about his friends to the tabloids and still owes a former Vegas bookie $400,000.

Writes Ebner: “Given the financial sector’s recent precipitous fall from grace, is there any better symbol of our era than a reckless sybarite who’s addicted to borrowed money?” Davis no longer has reps and could not be reached.

GREASY oil-heir Brandon Davis is as careless with his ID as he is with other people’s money. Saturday night, Davis and a pal showed up to the Living Room on the Lower East Side for a Lukas Haas show, but he couldn’t get in because he forgot his ID. The doorman wouldn’t let a “brooding” Davis in, prompting him to “argue, ask for the manager, try to find Lukas’ publicist and get his friend on the case,” our tipster said. “But the doorman didn’t care.” Davis “even offered to give girls outside cigarettes to get him in through the back” before realizing that simply fetching his license out of his car would be an easier solution. The rough night continued for Davis, who showed up at 3 a.m. Sunday headed to model Jessica Gomes’ birthday at Tenjune, but the party was already over.

Friends of the broke oil “heir” say that he’s conned them out of money – and that when they ask for it back, he tells them to “go [bleep]” themselves or “borrows” money or art from another friend to pay them back.

Among the many people Davis is said to owe money to are:

* Carnegie Mellon heir Matthew Mellon. Sources said Davis not only got Mellon to pay an $80,000 bill at The Dorchester hotel in London, he stole an American Express card from him and rang up $110,000 in charges. Mellon has still not been paid, and an insider said he’ll refer the matter to AmEx’s fraud department if he’s not paid within the week. Mellon declined to comment.

* David Kur, a student. Davis rang up a $100,000 tab on Kur’s bookie account. When Kur asked for it back, Davis said, “[Bleep] you. I’m not going to pay. You want your money? Come get it.” Kur told Page Six, “The matter is still ongoing. He’s a very messed-up person. I wish I’d never met him.”

* Andy Valmorbida, an art dealer. Sources said Davis stole artworks from Valmorbida and rang up credit-card bills totaling $75,000. “He has a list of around 10 credit-card numbers he uses,” a source said. “None of them are his, and he uses them to fund his lifestyle.” Valmorbida couldn’t be reached for comment.

* Davis also owes money to the Beverly Hills Hotel (which declined to comment), pal Jared Najjar (who said, “He paid me back”), art collector Eugenio Lopez and fashion designer Max Azria.

One insider said, “Brandon is dangerous and out of control. We’re worried about him. People threaten to sue him but don’t because he starts crying and gets them to feel bad for him.” Davis didn’t return calls, but his mother, Nancy, a historic enabler, told us, “I can’t imagine anyone would lend money like that. These people are friends of his, and he doesn’t owe them anything.”

BRANDON “Greasy Bear” Davis spent the weekend houseguesting in the Hamptons, where the depleted oil heir was spotted at Lily Pond Saturday night polishing off two bottles of Cristal with a table of models during Taryn Manning’s performance. A source said, “He was sweating all over the models and didn’t pay for anything.” Next stop was Dune, where, we’re told, Davis – shockingly – “didn’t buy a bottle or anything.”

No one wants to be associated with “greasy bear” after his racist and homophobic outburst on TMZ last week, and the guests at the premiere of the Aussie surfing film “Bra Boys” are no exception. Davis showed up to the LA premiere Monday at the DGA theater with Rick Salomon in tow, and many guests, including the film’s producers, questioned why he was there as he followed the film’s star, Koby Abberton, around all night. “He followed Koby around like a puppy and Koby’s too nice to say anything,” said one guest. “They all really wanted him out.”
