Cameron Diaz says she’s a big fan of “Shrek the Musical” but has no desire to star in it.

The actress, who voices Princess Fiona in the “Shrek” film franchise, raved about the musical adaptation of the animated blockbuster at its Broadway opening Sunday night.

Asked whether she’d consider portraying Fiona on stage, she said: “No. Absolutely not. What they do up there … is, to me, impossible. It’s wonderful, though. They’ve done such a great job. They worked really hard, and it really pays off.”

Tony-winning actress Sutton Foster plays Fiona in “Shrek the Musical,” which began preview performances last month at the Broadway Theatre. Actor Brian d’Arcy James portrays the titular smelly green ogre who lives in a swamp and falls for Fiona.

“It’s hilarious,” said Diaz, sporting a white Bill Blass dress, black Dior coat and bright red lips. “There’s so many laughs. … It’s great to see all the actors playing it together, because when we do it for the animated (films), we never see each other. We don’t work together.”

Diaz reprises her voice role in the fourth “Shrek” film, slated for release in 2010. Mike Myers and Eddie Murphy will return as Shrek and Donkey, respectively.

Joining Diaz at Sunday’s performance were America Ferrera, Joan Rivers, Rosie Perez, Kathie Lee Gifford, Hoda Kotb, Phylicia Rashad, and Ben Stiller and his wife, actress Christine Taylor.

“We are ‘Shrek’ fans at our house,” Stiller said while Taylor posed for photographs on the red carpet. “And we’re going to go check out the musical and let the kids know if it’s suitable for children.”

Rivers bantered with Gifford and Kotb, who co-host the fourth hour of NBC’s “Today Show.” When Gifford asked for Rivers’ favorite “Shrek” character, Rivers responded: “Oh yeah, like I care! We’re all grown-ups! I’m thrilled to be here.”

Rivers, who had a cameo in 2004′s “Shrek 2,” cracked: “I’m part of the family. But I’m not hardly, like, excited to see ‘Shrek’ (onstage).”

DREW Barrymore wouldn’t throw a party without her BFF Cameron Diaz – even if she does rub some other guests the wrong way. At Barrymore’s Halloween party, Diaz was “outside smoking the whole time” along with many of the other guests, our spy said. “But when a couple people asked if she had a cigarette, she always said no. It was so rude.” Other guests at Barrymore’s Hitchcock-themed bash were Liv Tyler, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Britney Spears and Eve.

APPARENTLY, Paul Sculfor’s ex-girlfriend Jennifer Aniston didn’t convert him into a rare shopping-friendly man. In fact, Sculfor is just like any other boyfriend when it comes to shopping with his woman. A spy at Intermix on Bleecker Street told us that while his current squeeze Cameron Diaz browsed yesterday, “Paul stood near the front of the store looking out the window.” When a “giggly and happy” Diaz finally came out of the dressing room in a Stella McCartney outfit, she called him over. The source noted that while Sculfor “admired the dress, he wouldn’t go near the dressing room.”

CAMERON Diaz and Jennifer Aniston traded boyfriends, and Diaz made the better deal. She’s having more fun with Aniston’s ex, Paul Sculfor, than Aniston had with Diaz’s former fling, John Mayer. Our spy spotted Diaz at the Four Seasons in the Maldives with Sculfor, who split from Aniston last summer. “They snorkeled, kayaked, and she ate like a horse,” reports our witness. Diaz and her model man stayed in a huge bungalow on the water, and she was “wearing a chunky ring on her left ring finger.”

She recently boasted about the joys of being single but it seems that actress Cameron Diaz has had a change of heart.

The Charlie’s Angels star looked blissfully happy as she kissed and cuddled British bricklayer-turned-model Paul Sculfor – a former boyfriend of Jennifer Aniston’s – during a day out in West Hollywood.

The casually-dressed couple couldn’t keep their hands off each other as they enjoyed a dinner date before strolling to a nearby boutique.

Cameron, who was devastated by the death of her father earlier this year, has been enjoying the dating scene since splitting from Justin Timberlake early last year.

In a recent interview with InStyle, she said: ‘People think if you’re single, you are incomplete.

‘No. The thing is, I don’t want to be in a relationship that makes me incomplete.’

Her latest beau Paul began dating Jennifer Aniston earlier in May but the couple split after just two months.

Cameron Diaz is still hot and heavy with Jennifer Aniston’s ex.

On Sunday, the actress, 35, went out on a romantic dinner date in West Hollywood with Brit model Paul Sculfor (who was linked to Aniston, 39, last year).

After the meal, Diaz and Sculfor kissed, held hands and walked with their arms around each other while shopping at the American Rag clothing store.

Diaz first stepped out with Sculfor June 1 at up Il Ristorante di Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica, California.

“Cameron was laughing at everything he said — she didn’t stop smiling,” an onlooker told Usmagazine.com then. “She was really flirty and had three or four of her buttons undone.”

Diaz — who was once linked to current Aniston beau John Mayer — recently told In Style she loves “men. Sex is the best!

“I’m not going to bring some idiot into my world, and if I’m not sure about him, I’m cautious,” she added. “My list is all about balance. You can have smart but not funny. You can have funny but not very smart. You can have intellectual but not social.

“I want it all! I love big brains. I love to eat. I love to be outdoors.” she said. “I love to have conversations! I love to make love …. I don’t do anything half-assed, and I want somebody who can keep up with all that.”

CAMERON DIAZ refuses to be phased by her advancing years – insisting she looks and feels better now than she ever has.

The blonde beauty, who shot to fame aged 22 after starring in 1994 movie The Mask, doesn’t consider her age a problem, because she takes better care of herself now than when she was young.

And although the Charlie’s Angel star admits to looking longingly at photographs of her as a young woman, she insists turning 35 last August was a positive experience.

She tells Britain’s Cosmopolitan magazine, “I’m enjoying it (being 35). I feel better with age. I mean, sure, I look at pictures of myself when I was 21 and think, ‘Wow, I didn’t look so bad.’

“But I take more care of myself now, so in a way I feel like I look better than I did then. I feel good about myself now.”
