Carrie Underwood and Chace Crawford have split, sources confirm to Usmagazine.com.

The American Idol winner, 25, and the Gossip Girl star, 22, had been dating since last July, but did not go public with their romance until October.

Underwood had spent Thanksgiving at his parents’ home in Dallas and part of her Christmas break with his relatives.

An insider told Us Weekly in December, “His parents are fond of her… they believe ‘Carrie Crawford’ would be a great addition to the family!”

“She’s a classy girl,” Crawford told Us in October.

Rumors linking Crawford to buddy JC Chasez sparked Chasez to tell Kiss-FM 104.7 Wednesday, “For the record, we’re both straight. We’re not dating.”

Underwood’s rep was not available for comment; Crawford’s declined to comment.

The brand new issue of SHAPE is on stands today!

American Idol winner Carrie Underwood reveals her doable slim down strategy for slimming down and getting healthy in the February issue of SHAPE.

Carrie tells us how she lost 20lbs!!!

She hired a personal trainer to help her figure out the best equipment for reaching her goals- and the proper way to use it. They started with an elliptical machine for cardio, a balance ball for ab work, and free weights to tone her arms and shoulders. “We got really simple, basic stuff, because if it was complicated, I knew I wouldn’t have used it,” says Carrie.

“My favorite thing is cardio,” says Carrie. “It really helps the pounds melt off, and it gives me so much more energy. Now when I’m performing and running around the stage, it’s no big deal. Whereas before I was always gasping for breath. Working out has really paid off onstage.”

Once American idol made Carrie a bon a fide star, the singer’s weight became a popular topic in the tabloids and on gossip blogs. “I was heavier,” admits Carrie. “Still there’s nothing worse than going online and reading that someone called you chubby.” Now that she’s at a healthier weight for her body, Carrie is careful not to obsess over the numbers on the scale and vows t maintain a positive attitude in the high pressure celebrity world. “I’m a performer, and yes, being in good shape is part of the package,” says Carrie. “But I don’t ever want to get neurotic about my weight. I feel healthy and I know I’m a good size for me. And that’s what’s important.”

All-American girl, Carrie Underwood, reveals insight into her life post-American Idol. This Southern sweetheart opens up about her own limitations, the irresistible temptation to read celeb weeklies, and whether she’s sucked face with her maybe-boyfriend.

On being linked to Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo:

There’s been so much buzz surrounding the Underwood/Simpson/Romo love triangle. Now that Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo are hot and heavy there’s a lot of speculation as to just how close Carrie Underwood and Tony Romo really were. It certainly seems Simpson has filled Underwood’s shoes – spotted all over Tinseltown hand-in-hand, and even seen cheering him on at his games.

“He was not my boyfriend and we were never dating. The more I screamed ‘We’re not dating!’ the more headlines claimed that we were a couple or that I was crying because he was out with another girl. We’re really good friends, we hang out a lot, and we’re close…well, friends smooch occasionally.”

On being a vegetarian:
“There was a traumatic incident that made me stop eating beef…And it hit me that these cute little animals that were running around playing would become someone’s dinner. Eating them made me feel guilty.”

On watching her diet and staying thin:
“The older I get, the harder it is to splurge without consequences. I love food. Chocolate and cheese and anything that’s bad for me. I’ll be really good when I’m at home so I can eat what I want to when I’m out with friends.”

On her public image:

“Everyone has all these expectations about what people should look like. Some people think I’m fat, some people don’t. Who are they to judge? But it does bother me – if I see a picture, and I look chubby, it affects how I feel about myself.”

On what the gossip mags and message boards have to say:
“Occasionally I’ll be on the Internet and see something about me and give in to the urge to click on it. It’s hard not to. Usually I wish I didn’t.”

On her stress-reliever and staying fit:

“Honestly, it’s my dog…He’s my kid that I get to take care of and put my energy into. I do exercise. I’ll use whatever’s in the hotel fitness room: the elliptical machine, maybe lift some weights. Then I’ll take Ace for a walk. And it’s important for me to know when enough is enough. I do get tired, and that can affect my whole sense of well-being.”

On wanting to be a news anchor:

“I love being on camera. And I love knowing what’s going on in the world. Diane Sawyer is my favorite. She never seems to lower herself to get the job done. She just always carries herself well. I really admire her.”

On writing her own songs:

“I don’t know if I could write a full album’s worth of material. It’s very draining. When I was writing with people, it was like going to see a psychologist for eight hours a day. I would talk about so much personal stuff at the end of the day, I would just be a wreck.”

On her weakness for ‘80s hair metal:

“I remember singing Motley Crue’s remake of ‘Smokin’ in the Boys’ Room’ in front of the mirror. That was the age of the real ‘rock star.’ I would like to have experienced that first-hand.”

Chace Crawford’s clan is crazy about Carrie Underwood.

“His whole family loves her,” a friend of the couple tells the latest issue of Us Weekly, on newsstands now. “They are really perfect for each other.”

How close are the duo of six months (who started dating in July but didn’t go public until October)? After the American Idol winner, 24, spent Thanksgiving with the Gossip Girls hottie, 22, at his parents’ home in Dallas, she joined his relatives on part of her Christmas vacation as well, Us confirms. “They spent Christmas together and had a wonderful time,” a source says.

“His parents are fond of her and think she’s extremely talented,” an insider tells Us. “And they believe ‘Carrie Crawford’ would be a great addition to the family!”

Underwood, meanwhile, has no regrets about her July split from Tony Romo. “She thanks her lucky stars she isn’t with Tony anymore!” adds a source. “She thinks it’s a joke he’s with Jessica Simpson and sees him as a player. Carrie and Chace call him ‘the player’ and Jessica ‘the ditz.’”

Carrie Underwood has a secret for eating healthy: accountability!

“I’m slightly obsessive-compulsive about what I eat, more than I should be. I write down everything I eat,” the American Idol, 24, champ dishes in Glamour magazine’s January issue. “I started doing it last year. And in the last year is when I’ve gotten more healthy and lost weight.”

What does she eat? Well, no meat. She’s been a vegetarian since age 13. (Listen up, Chace Crawford: “I don’t think I could kiss someone after they ate a hamburger ’cause they would probably taste like it, and that would gross me out,” she tells Glamour.)

Underwood also says she she enjoys cardio and “that big exercise ball.”

Last month Us Weekly praised her dramatic style transformation from country casual to fashionista. Check out her stunning look at the American Music Awards here.

“I’ll go home and one of my friends will say, ‘Oh my, gosh, those shoes are so cute,’ Underwood says. “And I’ll say, ‘Oh, they’re Christian Louboutins.’ They’re like, ‘What?’ So yeah, I’ve definitely learned more names.”

Underwood is set to join with Keith Urban on a 24-city tour beginning in January.

But she might need extra room for her luggage: “I have a giant makeup case, more makeup than any girl should have in her lifetime.”
