Jessica Alba and husband Cash Warren’s families came together for the first time on Friday to celebrate the couple at their Beverly Hills home.

Though they officially wed last summer, Friday’s event served as a formal reception to “celebrate their love and commitment to each other,” a partygoer told Usmagazine.com.

Guests, including newlywed Without a Trace Star Roselyn Sanchez, were asked to arrive before 7 p.m.

At the event, both Alba and Warren spoke about their relationship before turning things over to their fathers, who each expressed happiness over the union of the two families. Later, a mariachi band played.

“There were no tears,” the partygoer said, “just lots of happiness and love. It felt extremely special for everyone.”

The partygoer added that it was Warren’s speech, which detailed his pride in his wife and their daughter, that made guests especially emotional.

Before the reception took place, a source said that it would likely be “very romantic” and that tents were already up a day before the event.

“Jessica is so excited,” the source told Us before the event. “This is such a happy time in their lives.” Adding to their excitement was daughter, Honor, 6 months, who joined the party wearing a gray dress — designed to exactly match Alba’s — with angel wings attached.

The pair exchanged vows for the first time on May 19 in the Beverly Hills courthouse’s ceremony room. The couple had gotten engaged after announcing that Alba was pregnant with their daughter.

“She doesn’t want to be pregnant in a dress,” a source told Us back in December 2007, which might have explained the couple’s privacy with the initial wedding.

Alba, 27, and Warren, 29, met on the set of Fantastic Four in 2004 (Warren was the assistant to the film’s director).

Yesterday’s reception took place at their newly remodeled $4 million Beverly Hills home.

“It’s a lot of stress to buy a house, have a baby and get married in six months,” she has said. “It’s a lot of life-changing decisions. I’m really, really secure and happy in my relationship.”

Jessica Alba and her husband Cash Warren have welcomed a baby girl.

She was born this weekend at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Alba’s father was overheard saying “she’s beautiful.” Warren — in a T-shirt, jeans and baseball cap — was spotted carrying food into the maternity ward Sunday.

Her rep had no comment.

Alba, 26, and Warren, 28, announced they were expecting last December.

During her pregnancy, Alba admitted, “anything could make me incredibly angry or break down crying. That’s not something I’m used to.”

She told Extra she had a dream, and “it had to do with breastfeeding, which is the only thing I’m paranoid about. More than giving birth.”

She and Warren got engaged after announcing their baby news.

They quietly wed in the Beverly Hills courthouse’s ceremony room on May 19.

They just moved into a $4 million Beverly Hills home with their three dogs.

With fiancé Cash Warren by her side, Jessica Alba can’t help gushing about her impending baby joy.

“It’s awesome,” she told PEOPLE Thursday in L.A. at Glamour magazine’s kickoff for V-Day’s 10th Anniversary. “It’s the best time ever. I have two movies coming out, a baby, a fiancé – everything.”

The 26-year-old actress, who’s due in early spring or late summer, said the pregnancy has been smooth so far. But, she admitted, “I’m more tired, more hungry than normal.”

Alba – who also recently announced her engagement to longtime boyfriend Warren, 28, the baby’s father – also said she’s enjoying a rare break from acting.

“I don’t know if anyone wants me in their movies [when I'm] six months pregnant,” she joked. “I’ll get the fire and I’ll want to work again, but right now it’s a time to relax and sit back.”

For now, the actress is focused on a more personal project: “I bought a new house a couple weeks ago. I’m in nesting phase.”

Later, Alba joked about her growing baby bump as she performed “My Short Skirt,” a scene from Eve Ensler’s Vagina Monologues.

“I hope [my dress] won’t pop while I’m up here,” she said. “And if it does, you’re all women, and I think you’ll understand it. [When you're pregnant], your breasts are engorged and your stomach is getting bigger. . . . And the ass, too, that’s getting bigger by the second!”

The 26-year-old actress is engaged to boyfriend Cash Warren, her publicist Brad Cafarelli confirmed to E! News Thursday.

No other details were forthcoming about the how, where or when, but Alba has been photographed sporting a hefty rock on her left ring finger and the parents-to-be are definitely on the road to matrimony.

The couple announced earlier this month that they are expecting their first child together in late spring or early summer.

Alba and Warren, 28, have been an item since meeting on the set of The Fantastic Four in 2004, where the son of Hill Street Blues star Michael Warren was working as a director’s assistant and the actress was working as an invisible wielder of force fields.

The former Dark Angel star, who most recently played opposite Dane Cook in Good Luck Chuck and screamed alongside Hayden Christensen in the anesthesia-gone-wrong thriller Awake, is up next in the U.S. remake of the Japanese horror flick The Eye, in theaters Feb. 1.

“I can confirm that Jessica and Cash are expecting a baby in late spring, early summer,” says rep Brad Cafarelli.

Alba, 26, has dated Warren, 28, since the fall of 2004 after they met on the set of The Fantastic Four, on which Warren was a director’s assistant.

The couple have been seen being affectionate together in Los Angeles in recent days, shopping for mattresses last Saturday and attending a Lakers game, where they were spotted kissing Sunday.

Alba has also starred in Sin City and the recent Awake. Her upcoming films are The Eye and The Love Guru.

Before the pregnancy announcement, she said she was in talks to make her Broadway premiere this summer in a revival of playwright David Mamet’s Speed-the-Plow.
