Blanchett will co-chair the creative meeting, less than a week after giving birth to her third child Ignatius Martin Upton.
A beaming Blanchett posed for photos with six-day-old Ignatius this morning as hundreds of delegates filed through the doors of Parliament House.
Actor Hugh Jackman praised Ms Blanchett on his way in to the talks.
“I have given her my kids – she is looking after them for the weekend,” he joked.
“Cate Blanchett is superwoman … she is amazing on every level, I think she is flawless as a person and I am thrilled that she is leading our stream.”
Actor Rhys Muldoon – known for his role in the ABC kids show Play School – then joked about the “superwoman” tag.
“She has just had three kids more this morning, so there will be four little kids at the summit with her,” he said.

CATE Blanchett and husband Andrew Upton welcomed their third son, Ignatius Martin Upton, into the world yesterday.
Initial reports are that Sydney-based mother and child are both well.
The Elizabeth: The Golden Age and I’m Not There star gave birth yesterday with the little boy weighing just over 8 pounds.
Blanchett and her writer-director husband, who have shared co-artistic director responsibilities at the Sydney Theatre Company since January, already have two sons: Dashiell, 6, and Roman, 3.
The NIDA graduate will next be seen alongside Harrison Ford as Agent Irina Spalko in the fourth film of the highly-anticipated Indiana Jones franchise, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
The film opens nationally on May 22.

The Australian actress, who portrays the music legend in new biopic ‘I’m Not There’, admits her efforts to create a manly bulge left her husband “repulsed”.
She said: “My friend put a sock down my trousers and that kind of helped me walk like a man.
“My husband Andrew wouldn’t come near me. He was utterly repulsed by it.” The 38-year-old star – who has been married to writer Andrew Upton for 10 years – previously revealed she flattened her bosoms for the role.
She said: “I had to strap those breasts down and just go for it!”
Blanchett is one of several actors to portray Dylan at various stages in his life in ‘I’m Not There’. She plays the singer during his folk-rock years in the early 60s.
Her dedication to the role has already paid off, after she was named Best Actress at the Venice Film Festival earlier this month.
She is now hotly tipped to pick up an Oscar nomination for her performance. The film is set for a worldwide release later this year.

CATE Blanchett is shy about baring her butt on-screen. For the second time in her career, the Oscar winner is using a derriere double in her upcoming film, “Elizabeth: The Golden Age.” She tells London’s Daily Mail: “It’s not my bottom. It’s someone else’s. . . . It looks very nice, but it doesn’t belong to me. Only my husband sees my bum.” She previously used a double for her rear end in “Little Fish.” But Blanchett is less uptight about her chest. There was a “very brief shot of a left breast while making love” in “Elizabeth,” according to mrskin.com.
