Lindsay Lohan fended off attacks earlier this week, after her thin frame became the focus of attention.

And now, her mom is stepping up to defend her daughter.

In a new interview for Access Hollywood and “The Billy Bush Show,” Dina Lohan defended Lindsay’s skinny physique.

“I don’t know why people care about other people’s weight. I think they should look in their own mirror and stare at themselves,” Dina told Billy. “I’m a mom. If I see my daughter a little thin, I say, ‘Eat more McDonald’s.’”

Earlier this week, Lindsay also referred to the fast-food chain in defending herself from comments in the media suggesting she and girlfriend Samantha Ronson were in competition to see who could become thinner.

“I eat. I had my Big Mac yesterday from McDonald’s,” Lindsay told Us Weekly on Monday. “I eat as much as I always have.”

Still, Dina says it wouldn’t kill her daughter to add a few pounds.

“I told Lindsay I think she’s a little thin,” Dina admitted. “But we go through this every couple of months. My daughter is happy and healthy and that’s all that really matters.”

Dealing with tabloid attention is certainly nothing new for Dina and her family and she said it’s something they’ve learned to ignore.

“We try to keep it at bay and not really read it or engage in it because it’s just other people’s opinions,” she continued. “We’ve got hit pretty hard in the past, so we don’t really go there.”

While Lindsay has been taking to her MySpace blog to vent about her troubled life, Dina is living it up. The “Mother of the Year” – who constantly claims she doesn’t go out to nightclubs with her kids – took her just-turned-21 son, Michael, to 1Oak the other night to celebrate his being of legal drinking age. But unlike her old days of clubbing with Lindsay, the mom of four left the bash early. One partygoer told us, “Michael had a low-key night.”

FAMED music manager Johnny Wright is not only saying, “Thanks, but no thanks” to Dina Lohan – he slams her and her daughter Ali in a statement to Page Six.

Last week, we reported that Ali – the 14-year-old younger sister of Lindsay Lohan – and stage mother Dina had been approached by Wright through the Maloof brothers, who own The Palms in Las Vegas and the Sacramento Kings.

Lohan sources said Wright – who steered the Jonas Brothers and Justin Timberlake to the top – offered to manage Ali’s career. At the time, Dina told us via a rep she was interested and would take the meeting.

But forget that.

A scathing statement from Wright’s company states: “Johnny Wright would like to set the record straight regarding his involvement with Ali Lohan.

“Johnny Wright has never met with Ali Lohan, has never been introduced to Ali Lohan, nor has he had a meeting with Ali or Dina Lohan regarding Ali’s music career. While he wishes Ali Lohan the best in all her endeavors, Mr. Wright has never had any intention of speaking with Ali Lohan regarding her career. Any story that has surfaced about such a meeting holds no merit and is completely false.

“Wright Entertainment Group has never had any interest or intention of adding Ali Lohan as an artist on the company’s roster, which currently includes Justin Timberlake, Jonas Brothers, Janet Jackson and Ciara amongst others.”

A rep for Dina and Ali didn’t get back to us. Ali could use the help, though. Her single, “All the Way Around,” flopped this summer, and her show with Dina, “Living Lohan” on E!, isn’t expected to be renewed.

It almost goes without saying that the Lohan family takes a fair amount of criticism in the media, most of which the family pubicly ignores.

But when CNN’s Anderson Cooper went on a rant on this morning’s Live with Regis & Kelly, the clan’s matriarch, Dina Lohan felt the need to reply.

During his guest-hosting appearance on the talk show, Anderson launched an anti-Lohan tirade that included the following gem about little sister Ali Lohan:

“Allegedly a 14-year-old girl, looks to be about 60… I say that with concern and love. She allegedly wants to be a singer and or actor-slash-performer of some sort, striptease person, i don’t know.”

Well, that didn’t sit well with Dina, who spoke exclusively to OK!. “People are just cruel!” she said. “This is bad karma for him.”

Whoops!

On the finale of E!’s Living Lohan, cameras followed 14-year-old Ali Lohan as she went on an audition for the horror movie Trolls.

Unbeknownst to Ali, she auditioned for Peter Davy, director of such adult flicks as Voodoo Lust and Dreams in the Forbidden Zone, TMZ.com reported Wednesday.

“Ali obviously had no idea about Davy’s past,” her rep tells Usmagazine.com. “If she did know, she never would have auditioned for him.”

TMZ.com reports that Ali’s mom Dina “went nuclear” when she got word.

Ali hasn’t been quiet about her desire to be famous.

“I grew up watching Lindsay, and it made me want to do what she does,” she told Teen Vogue earlier this year. “Just the whole vibe. Being there, being on camera, or onstage, with everybody listening to you … it’s so cool when people look up to you.

“I want it so bad,” she said of fame. “So bad you don’t even know. And now, it’s actually happening. I’ve already been asked for my autograph, and it’s just a really good feeling to have.”

Forget about Lindsay Lohan getting into trouble.

Now it’s her mom, Dina, and sister, Ali, who have gotten themselves into a bit of a skirmish.

Depending on whom you believe, Dina and Ali were either booted from last night’s New York City premiere of the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2—or they decided to leave on their own.

I talked to Dina and some other guests, and, well, I’ll let you decide…

Sources report that when Dina, Ali and a friend of Ali’s arrived to the after-party, they sat down at a reserved table. A studio staffer politely asked her to change tables, but “Dina “went apes–t,” a partygoer tells me. “It so wasn’t cool.”

So not cool that “Dina was quietly removed” from the rooftop soiree, another source says.

Dina, however, claims she decided to ditch the party because she says that the studio staffer started raising his voice.

“He made the girls uncomfortable,” Dina wrote in an email to me this afternoon. “At that point, the girls wanted to leave.”

But my party source insists, the studio folks “couldn’t have been nicer.”

“Dina was so awful,” the source said.

Reps for the studio did not comment.

No surprise, but the heated spectacle became the talk of the party. “Other than that, it was a gorgeous night,” another source said.

Dina Lohan and Michael Lohan Jr

Dina Lohan had better show up in Family Court this morning in Old Westbury; she faces “immediate arrest and imprisonment” if she doesn’t.

Ex-hubbie Michael is reopening the couple’s divorce because the E! reality star won’t let him see their younger children, Cody, 11, and Aliana, 14, whose career Dina is trying to launch on the show “Living Lohan.” Michael also charges that Dina is preventing him from seeing their older kids, Michael Jr. and Lindsay.

In scathing court documents, Michael charges his ex-wife with drunkenness in the presence of the kids. He claims that Dina failed 15 of 29 times to bring the younger children to judge-ordered visits with him, supervised by a therapist. But on April 8, the father charges, Dina “arrived toward the end of the therapy session in a completely inebriated and erratic state.”

Dina had been “at the beauty parlor in anticipation of her impending trip to Las Vegas” for the show, Michael says in the heartbreaking papers, “and I attended the session with the children as scheduled. During the session, Ali requested that I watch her puppy while she was away, which I happily agreed to do. Ali called [Dina] to eagerly relay my consent. [Dina], clearly intoxicated, became irate. Without reason, she told Ali that I could not watch the puppy and that it had to stay in a kennel.”

On April 15, Dina was “exhausted” as she sat in the waiting room with the children, Michael claims in the documents. “I later discovered that [her] exhaustion stemmed from the fact that she was hung over. She apparently had spent the prior evening binge-drinking at various nightclubs until the wee hours of the morning. … She was spotted completely inebriated.”

As Lindsay makes for more tabloid fodder with her relationship with Samantha Ronson, Michael accuses Dina of using the singer/actress – and now, Ali – for her own fame and fortune. “When it comes to our daughters, [Dina] has always viewed herself as a manager first, friend second, and mother third. Our younger daughter, Ali … has been cast in a movie and is recording an album. Dina, quite simply, views Ali as a bankable commodity.

“Dina is a wanna-be living off Lindsay’s fame,” says Michael, who has reformed his life after a prison term for attempted assault. Now working as a counselor, he adds, “I gave her everything so I could see my kids.”

Dina’s spokeswoman did not respond to requests for comment.
