Marilyn Manson says depression destroyed his marriage to Dita von Teese, made him a virtual shut-in and caused him to mull suicide. “Really, I haven’t left my house in a year. I shut myself, literally, out of being with people . . . I didn’t want to live. When you want to die, you at least have a goal,” the shock-rocker tells Britain’s Observer. “[Dita] didn’t understand the amount of pain I went through.”

Dita von Teese just separated from her husband Marilyn Manson two weeks ago, but there are already rumors about the shock-rocker’s relationships with other women.

Von Teese left Manson over his hard drinking and wild partying. Her friends said Manson was so inebriated, he didn’t even know von Teese had left the marital home in Los Angeles.

Manson had reportedly enjoyed wild party nights with Hollywood’s wildest child, Lindsay Lohan. She “was always ringing up the house wanting to come round and party with him,” a source told the London Sun. “The phone would go all through the night, with people turning up at the house to hang out.” Lohan’s rep, Leslie Sloane, said the story is “not true.”

Another Manson-watcher tells Page Six he’s also close pals with Brad Pitt’s paramour, Angelina Jolie – who caught up with the rock star when she was in L.A. a little over five months ago. “They’ve known each other for a long time,” said our source, “since she was way more wild than she is now – they are still good friends, though.”

And now, it seems, Manson is soothing his wounded ego by developing a close friendship with 20-year-old actress Evan Rachel Wood.

On the night von Teese left Manson, he had a listening party at a house in Beverly Hills. Wood was by his side there and a source told Us Weekly, “They were like an old married couple. She was always right next to him and so attentive.” After opening some gifts (which included a live scorpion), Manson led Wood and pals into a room to listen to songs from his next album. “Evan was really into it,” says the source.

Wood’s rep, Kelly Bush, says the friendship with Mansion is just that.

“They are doing a movie together ['Phantasmagoria: The Visions of Lewis Carroll'],” Bush said. “Their friendship grew out of Evan’s great admiration for Marilyn as an artist. They are nothing more than friends.”

A nasty custody battle is expected between Manson and von Teese over the couple’s cats – but not their dachshunds. He doesn’t want the dogs.
