Eddie Murphy and Tracey Edmonds were married on New Year’s Day on a private island off Bora Bora in French Polynesia in front of 25 friends and family, their reps said.

In a sunset ceremony on the beach Tuesday, Edmonds walked barefoot down the aisle to Gladys Knight’s “Makings of You.” The bride wore a custom-designed form-fitting dress by stylist and designer Sugia Nazel and Jill Baracci, designer and owner of Baracci boutique.

Murphy wore a cream suit and vest with an off-white handkerchief.

Among the guests were best man Johnny Gill, maid of honor Nicole Avant, matron of honor Julie Lev, as well as Edmonds’s parents Jacqueline and George McQuarn, her brother Michael, Murphy’s mother Lillian Lynch and his brother Vernon.

Edmonds, 40, gave her bridesmaids gold and diamond earrings from XIV Karats in Beverly Hills, and Murphy, 46, gave his groomsmen D.Atlantis watches.

The wedding was designed by event designer Colin Cowie, who created a gazebo on the beach made out of 6,000 shells for the ceremony. After the ceremony, guests celebrated at a private dinner and after-party, where DJ Darrin Ebron from Los Angeles kept the guests dancing.

The wedding cake was by Sam Godfrey of Perfect Endings in Napa, CA, and featured four layers in whites and cream with handmade sugar cymbidium and dendrobium orchids.

Edmonds and Murphy started dating last fall and were engaged in July.

The DNA results are in, and Melanie “Scary Spice” Brown was right: Eddie Murphy is the father of her two and a half month old daughter.

“It is confirmed that Eddie is the father!” Brown’s rep tells Usmagazine.com.

Murphy, 46, submitted to a paternity test on June 11. Brown, 32, who dated Murphy for about 6 months, has always insisted that Murphy is the father of her daughter. She was so sure, in fact, that she named the child Angel Iris Murphy Brown.

At the time the test was taken, a source told British newspaper The Sun that for Brown, “this isn’t about the money, it’s about Angel knowing for sure who her dad is.”

Now that she does, Murphy might have some apologizing to do. During an appearance last December on the Dutch talk show RTL Boulevard, Murphy was asked if he was happy with Mel “since she’s pregnant with your child.”

“You’re being presumptuous because we’re not together anymore,” Murphy responded. “And I don’t know whose child that is, until it comes out and has a blood test. You shouldn’t jump to conclusions, sir.”

With the results in, there’s no jumping necessary in order to conclude that it’s time for Murphy to step up.

Murphy’s rep tells Us, “We do not comment on Mr. Murphy’s personal life.”

Eddie Murphy has finally taken a DNA paternity test to determine whether he’s the father of “Scary Spice” Melanie Brown’s 2-month-old daughter, sources tell PEOPLE.

Murphy, 46, took the test on Monday at a Beverly Hills medical facility. “Eddie came in half an hour after Mel B. and the baby,” says a source. “They didn’t want to run into each other.”

Results of the test could take anywhere from five days to three weeks.

Brown, 32, welcomed the baby, Angel Iris Murphy Brown, on April 3, and has long insisted Murphy is the child’s father.

She and the comic dated last summer, but in December Murphy told a Dutch TV show of Brown’s pregnancy: “I don’t know whose child that is until it comes out and has a blood test.”

In March, Murphy’s current girlfriend, Tracey Edmonds, told Chicago’s Power 92 radio station: “There’ll be a paternity test and if it’s [Eddie's] then he’ll be responsible.”

But last month, Brown told PEOPLE Murphy had refused to take a paternity test and said she was planning to take him to court to force him to do so.

She also said Murphy also had not contacted her since Angel was born: “He hasn’t seen his daughter. My people have contacted his people and they just had no response to anything.”

When reached for comment by PEOPLE, Murphy’s rep, Arnold Robinson, said at the time: “We do not comment on Mr. Murphy’s personal life.”

Melanie Brown (a k a Scary Spice, above) was in “complete shock” when Eddie Murphy told a reporter he wanted DNA proof before acknowledging he’d impregnated her. “There was a sea of photographers. There were people shouting about a DNA test . . . I tried to call Eddie, and I couldn’t get through. Then I got through, and he said he would call me back, and that was it. He never called back,” Brown tells OK! magazine, which also has the first photos of her daughter, Angel Iris Murphy Brown. “I don’t feel humiliated. I think the only person who has humiliated themselves is Eddie. His behavior was unacceptable.” Their next meeting might be in a courtroom. “We both know this is his baby,” Brown told OK! “If he wants to do a DNA test, do it. Step up to the plate and be responsible. I have no doubt that this is Eddie’s baby. Maybe one day Eddie will tell me why this happened. I am now more confident and grounded than I have ever been. I feel pretty amazing.”

Spice Girl Melanie Brown spent yesterday locked in meetings with top Hollywood lawyers, following ex-boyfriend Eddie Murphy’s claims her unborn child may not be his. The singer was seen consulting with several legal teams as she decides which lawyer is best to represent her in what promises to be a high profile fall out following the actor’s appearance on Dutch TV on Tuesday, where he announced the couple were no longer dating. He also demanded a DNA test when the singer gives birth.

She fumed in a statement, “I am obviously upset and distressed at some of the comments made by Eddie Murphy to the media. I have no idea why anybody would want to conduct themselves in this kind of manner about such a personal matter in such a public way. My main concern is for the well being of my daughter Phoenix and of course the baby. I was astonished about what Eddie said – there is absolutely no question that Eddie is the father.”

Eddie Murphy is dating R&B producer/singer Kenneth ‘Babyface’ Edmonds’ ex-wife Tracey, following his split from pregnant singer Melanie Brown. The comedian, 45, told Dutch TV show “RTL Boulevard” yesterday that he was “not together anymore” with the former Spice Girl, who is six months pregnant with her second child.

Murphy and Brown, 31, started dating in June – just two months after the actor divorced his wife Nicole. Despite Brown’s recent claims the couple is having a baby together, Murphy insists he isn’t prepared to assume parental responsibilities just yet, saying, “I don’t know whose child that is, until it comes out and has a blood test.”

Last night, Murphy went public with Tracey at the New York premiere of his latest film Dreamgirls, where the pretty producer admitted they are dating. Tracey tells People magazine, “(We’ve been dating) for about a month and a half. Yes (we’re happy), very happy. We’re having fun.”

Tracey and Kenneth Edmonds split in October 2005 after 13 years of marriage and two children.

Former Spice Girl Melanie Brown is reportedly expecting boyfriend Eddie Murphy’s baby. The singer is reportedly four months pregnant with the star’s child. It will be Murphy’s eighth child and Brown’s second.

According to entertainment news website TMZ.com, Brown confirmed the news while shopping at Le Bra Lingerie boutique in West Hollywood on Saturday. She is a frequent customer and admitted that the pregnancy had left her feeling tired. The star also said she was concerned she may be pregnant with twins, since they tend to run in Murphy’s family.

While on her shopping spree, she picked up nearly $5,000 worth of Eres lingerie and $3,000 worth of La Perla men’s undershirts and underwear for Murphy.

In April, Murphy’s divorce from his ex-wife Nicole became final. The star has five children with Nicole, a son with Tamara Hood and another son with Paulette Mcneely. Brown has a seven-year-old daughter, Phoenix Chi, from her previous marriage to Jimmy Gulzar.

The news comes amid rumors that the couple are set to tie the knot sometime next month.
