Oscar-winner Halle Berry has hired security guards because of racist threats to her unborn baby.
The star, three months pregnant, has received letters at her LA home from an anonymous sicko.
One said she and her child would be “cut into hundreds of pieces”.
Halle, 41, who has a white father and an African-American mother, is expecting her first child with white Canadian model Gabriel Aubry.
A source close to the actress said: “Halle does not normally use security but she has taken on a couple of guys to make sure.” Police are investigating the threats.

Gabriel Aubry has been pampering girlfriend Halle Berry through the early stages of pregnancy – massaging her feet and satisfying her food cravings.

“She does crave pickles,” he told PEOPLE at Macy’s Herald Square in New York for “The World of Calvin Klein” event.

Anything else? Special breads? “Any bread. Doesn’t matter, as long as it’s salt and pickles,” he said.

Berry, 41, and Aubry, 32, are expecting their first child “sometime around spring,” he told PEOPLE.

The model – who also owns a Cuban restaurant in New York called Café Fuego – doesn’t mind playing the role of chef at home, he’s just excited to be a dad.

“Just a new baby and a child in our lives is going to be amazing,” Aubry added.

Speaking to Access Hollywood, the first-time father-to-be said he “can’t wait to be a daddy” and added that Berry is doing really well.

“She loves foot massages … I do all of that stuff,” he said.

So, will the world’s sexiest baby since Shiloh Jolie-Pitt be a boy or a girl? “I don’t know, and we’re not going to find out,” Aubry said.

Halle Berry is pregnant, she confirmed exclusively to Access Hollywood’s Nancy O’Dell.

The 41-year-old actress revealed the news in an e-mail to Nancy on Tuesday that she is three months pregnant with boyfriend Gabriel Aubry’s baby.

“Yes, I am three months pregnant! Gabriel and I are beyond excited, and I’ve waited a long time for this moment in life. Now the next seven months will be the longest of my life!” she wrote to Nancy. “Can’t wait to see you and give you a squeeze and see a pic of your little sweetie. Until then, you heard it from ME first!”

Upon hearing the news, Nancy was elated for her good friend.

“I am beyond ecstatic for my friend Halle! I told her she is about to embark on the best time of her life! She is such a sweet person…so genuine…and therefore, will make an incredible mom. And can you imagine how gorgeous this baby is gonna be! Halle sent me the most adorable bunch of clothes for my new baby…I can’t wait to do the same for her,” Nancy said.

Over the years, Halle has made no secret about her desire for a family. Back in April, Nancy and Halle sat down for a candid talk about Halle’s plans for kids.

“Not that there’s not more to accomplish, but I think I arrived at a point in life that I realized I needed more to get me up in the morning. More than going to a new movie set. Or as much fun as getting the star was yesterday, I need something even more profound than that and that’s family. And that’s children,” Halle said. ” I need that like the air to breathe these days and I’m ready. I’m at a point where I’m really, really ready.”

Halle and Gabriel met in November 2005.

Parade magazine bosses have reacted angrily to Halle Berry‘s claims they dredged up a 10-year-old story about the actress’ 1997 suicide attempt and tried to make it fresh.

In a recent interview, Berry accused the weekend supplement of “regurgitating” the story, prompting other publications and agencies to ask her to talk about her darkest moment all over again.

But Parade editors insist the Oscar winner readily chatted about the day she started the process of poisoning herself with carbon monoxide in her car after the end of her first marriage to Baseball player David Justice. The magazine’s spokeswoman Alexis Collado says, “All of the quotes in Parade profile on Halle Berry came from a candid sit-down interview between Ms. Berry and Parade writer Emily Listfield on January 25, 2007. Ms. Berry talked very freely about the challenges she has faced in her life, including her failed marriages and suicide attempt. It is unfortunate that Ms. Berry has chosen to respond to media interest by backing away from what she originally told Parade. Anyone who actually read the article is sure to see it as a very positive profile of a strong woman who has overcome many challenges in her life and is now on a clear path to happiness.”
