Seal and Heidi Klum have announced that their storybook marriage is coming to the end of the runway.

In a statement Sunday night, the power couple announced their separation after rumors swirled over the weekend that a divorce was imminent.

“While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul searching we have decided to separate,” the joint statement read. “We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but we have grown apart. This is an amicable process and protecting the well-being of our children remains our top priority, especially during this time of transition. We thank our family, friends, and fans for their kind words of support. And for our children’s sake, we appreciate you respecting our privacy.”

The couple married in 2005 and has four children together, including the supermodel’s daughter from a previous relationship.

They were one of Hollywood’s most high-profile couples, and seemed to have the relationship everyone should envy. They two starred together in the music video “Secret,” they renewed their wedding vows each anniversary, boasted of their love in the media, and threw Halloween bashes together where they dressed in outrageous outfits, most recently last year in New York City, where the two engaged in their typical public display of affection for the cameras.

In an interview with The Associated Press in 2007, the “Kiss from A Rose” singer described his wife, who has a tattoo of his name on her arm, as his best friend.

“It is really important that we have that understanding because apart from anything else it is really healthy,” he said of the “Project Runway” host. “People often talk about the most important thing in a relationship. They say it is really important that you are turned on by your partner and you love each other, which is all really true.I often think that the most important thing or certainly up there with love is respect.”

TMZ first reported on Saturday that the two planned to divorce this week.

His announcement comes as he releases his new album, “Soul 2,” on Tuesday, which has songs like “Love T.K.O,” “Let’s Stay Together” and “Love Don’t Live Here Anymore.”

When Klum (above) took her kids to the Bleecker Playground in the West Village last week, swarms of paparazzi began snapping away at her — and local parents asked them to leave, according to Time Out New York. But when the paps refused, parents encouraged their kids to start lobbing water balloons at the photographers. A friend of Klum said, “Heidi left after that. It got too dramatic.” We hear Sarah Jessica Parker was at the park earlier.

Thanks to a fashion snafu, there is buzz that Heidi Klum and her husband, Seal, are adding to their family. “It looks like Heidi is four months pregnant,” an insider tells In Touch, explaining that the Project Runway host’s wardrobe plans gave her away. “Sketches leaked online of her in redesigned couture gowns to make room for a bump, but were quickly taken down!” This will be the fourth child for Heidi, 35, and Seal, 46. They have two biological children together — Henry, 3, and Johan, 2 — and Seal is the adoptive father of Heidi’s daughter, Leni, almost 5. The insider believes the pair will share their happy news soon: “She plans to announce her pregnancy when she wears the dress [from the leaked photos] to the event.”

Heidi Klum may be the face, body and voice of “Victoria’s Secret,” but when it comes to baring her body in her own home, the stunning supermodel has no desire to keep anything secret from her family.

“To see me in wings is nothing too unusual. People are pretty open with their bodies in Germany, and the children see you naked or in lingerie all the time so it’s not a big deal for us,” Klum told Tarts on Tuesday at the opening of the ultra-luxe flagship Lexington Street VS Store. “We don’t hide inside a room somewhere and change — it’s all very out in the open.”

But in order to have that kind of confidence, Klum works hard and she has her hubby, Seal, to credit for her flawless figure.

“You have to work out to be sexy. People always ask me how I stay in shape and how do I do it, and what really makes me do it is because I have a hot man waiting at home for me,” she added. “So I don’t want to be a slouch bag; I have to keep up appearances.”

(But just FYI, we do hear that Miss Heidi frequents Exhale Spa’s evolutionary Core Fusion classes to keep up that bangin’ bod).

And although Heidi insisted that Seal can do no wrong in her eyes, there is one thing that totally turns her off men. …

“If a man talks about themselves too much — they should be talking about the world, children, but not talking about themselves,” she said.

Speaking of male attention, the newest Angel, Doutzen Kroes, appears to be pretty smitten with her sudden surge in interest.

“I am getting picked up all the time, and it is really weird. I don’t know how to deal with it,” the 23-year-old exclaimed. “I am really happy that I am in a loving relationship right now, and I am not looking for anything. But I am enjoying the attention, although the paparazzi is all new for me and it’s really crazy. I think it’s all for the other girls — nobody knows me, but they will soon. I feel really honored and blessed.”
