It has been several months since Hugh Hefner and his former flame Holly Madison went their separate ways, but it seems the 83-year-old men’s magazine mogul still has super strong feelings for the 29-year-old pin-up. Hef told Jason Binn, editorial director of Niche Magazine’s Los Angeles Confidential, in his debut issue that he’d welcome Madison back with open arms because she is still the “love of his life.”

So where does that leave things with his new top squeeze Crystal Harris?

“How serious, and intimate, and important that works out to be, well we’ll have to wait and see because it’s only a couple months old,” Hef said in the upcoming issue, which hits the stands on May 1.

So even though Hef’s heart is still hoping for Holly, it doesn’t look like a reunion will happen any time soon.

“I loved my time at the mansion and think the world of Hef,” Madison told Tarts in response. “There comes a time in everyone’s life where they need to go their own way.”

And although Mr. Hefner still considers himself the ultimate playboy and has lived (and continues to live) a life beyond what most men could even dream about, he has two prominent regrets — his two marriages (the first to Mildred Williams in 1949 and then to Playmate Kimberly Conrad in 1989 — to whom he’s still married) and taking his empire public.

“I think the company would have been more closer to home if it had remained a private corporation,” Hef admitted.

As chairman and CEO of Playboy Enterprises, Hef’s daughter Christie Hefner recapitalized the company in 1989 and made it the first corporation listed on the New York Stock Exchange to issue a second class of stock with disparate voting rights. But business aside, of all the Tinseltowners and tycoons that have entered the Mansion grounds and graced the pages of Playboy, there is still one superstar Hef longs to meet.

“[I'd] like to find out what [Jesus Christ] was all about,” he added. “Separate the reality from mythology. Find out the roots of what has become a major religion of my time. I was raised in a good Methodist home and I had questions about organized religion, and I would love to have the answers.”

For the first time in Playboy’s history, the annual “Playmate of the Year” luncheon will be held away from the iconic mansion and will instead be held this weekend as a swanky dinner at Sin City’s Palms Place.

Holly Madison is joining the cast of Dancing With the Stars, a source tells Usmagazine.com.

There is speculation the Girls Next Door star could be replacing Jewel, who has been struggling with knee problems, and blogged last week that tendinitis could force her to drop out.

The singer later released a statement saying she’d suffered a “minor setback,” and added: “Don’t count me out, as I am in this for the long run.”

A source close to Jewel tells Us she’ll still be on the show Monday.

An ABC rep would not comment to Us.

Madison recently split from her magician beau, Criss Angel. The pair hooked up shortly after Madison called it quits last October with Hugh Hefner.

The season finale of Madison’s E! reality show aired last Sunday.

Things are getting serious between illusionist Criss Angel and Holly Madison, but don’t expect him to pop the question any time soon.

“I actually made Criss a paper ring, but he won’t wear it,” Madison, 28, told Usmagazine.com at Las Vegas club LAX on Friday. “When he starts wearing his paper ring, I will be the one to propose.”

Added Angel: “You know, what Holly and I have is really something that money can’t buy. She is enough for me.”

In between passionate kisses, the couple — who were celebrating joint birthdays – Angel turned 41 on Friday – while Madison turns 29 on Dec. 23. – opened up about their Christmas plans.

“I am getting him all snowboarding stuff. But I’m not supposed to tell you that!” Madison whispered to Us.

The twosome – who hooked up after Madison Split from Hugh Hefner in October – will be ringing in 2009 in Las Vegas.

“We are going to spend it here in Las Vegas,” Angel said. “I have a private room booked for dinner and then we are going to go out.”

Also joining them? Their parents!

“That will be the first time they all meet!” Madison told Us.

Angel recently shared his Christmas wish list: health, happiness and love.

“Those are the three things that you can’t buy and the three things, in my opinion, that are the most important in life,” he said.
