Hugh Hefner has been blessed with three new very gorgeous blonde beauties — two of which are twins. But despite his romantic relationship with 19-year-olds Karissa and Kristina Shannon, the men’s magazine mogul admitted at the recent Playmate of the Year party at The Palms in Sin City that he still can’t really tell them apart.

“I have one little trick, one has a little mark,” Hef said, motioning to his neck. “Other than that, I don’t know.”

The 83-year-old — who is no doubt living a life beyond most male’s wildest dreams — is also getting ready to see his trials and tribulations on the big screen in an upcoming Brett Ratner flick. And who does Hef want to play him?

“Robert Downey Jr. and I have talked about it, it’s a very real possibility,” Hef added. “Downey’s a marvelous actor, I would be honored.”

We caught up with the ultimate Playboy (and his three leading ladies of course) again last week at AFI’s Tribute to Michael Douglas where he was glowing about former flame Kendra Wilkinson’s recent pregnancy news.

“Kendra is going to be a good mommy, she’s growing up and Hank is going to be a very good influence on her. They are an ideal couple,” Hef said. “I’m sure the baby will end up at the Mansion. We do have (lots of little bunnies). We have a lot of friends and second generation Playmates, so there are a lot of kids around the Mansion these days.”

So does that mean the iconic Playboy Mansion is losing its rep as the abode of bad behavior?

It has been several months since Hugh Hefner and his former flame Holly Madison went their separate ways, but it seems the 83-year-old men’s magazine mogul still has super strong feelings for the 29-year-old pin-up. Hef told Jason Binn, editorial director of Niche Magazine’s Los Angeles Confidential, in his debut issue that he’d welcome Madison back with open arms because she is still the “love of his life.”

So where does that leave things with his new top squeeze Crystal Harris?

“How serious, and intimate, and important that works out to be, well we’ll have to wait and see because it’s only a couple months old,” Hef said in the upcoming issue, which hits the stands on May 1.

So even though Hef’s heart is still hoping for Holly, it doesn’t look like a reunion will happen any time soon.

“I loved my time at the mansion and think the world of Hef,” Madison told Tarts in response. “There comes a time in everyone’s life where they need to go their own way.”

And although Mr. Hefner still considers himself the ultimate playboy and has lived (and continues to live) a life beyond what most men could even dream about, he has two prominent regrets — his two marriages (the first to Mildred Williams in 1949 and then to Playmate Kimberly Conrad in 1989 — to whom he’s still married) and taking his empire public.

“I think the company would have been more closer to home if it had remained a private corporation,” Hef admitted.

As chairman and CEO of Playboy Enterprises, Hef’s daughter Christie Hefner recapitalized the company in 1989 and made it the first corporation listed on the New York Stock Exchange to issue a second class of stock with disparate voting rights. But business aside, of all the Tinseltowners and tycoons that have entered the Mansion grounds and graced the pages of Playboy, there is still one superstar Hef longs to meet.

“[I'd] like to find out what [Jesus Christ] was all about,” he added. “Separate the reality from mythology. Find out the roots of what has become a major religion of my time. I was raised in a good Methodist home and I had questions about organized religion, and I would love to have the answers.”

For the first time in Playboy’s history, the annual “Playmate of the Year” luncheon will be held away from the iconic mansion and will instead be held this weekend as a swanky dinner at Sin City’s Palms Place.

Just a quick heads up about tomorrow’s new Head Case & Party Down (Starz, 10p & 10:30p respectively). This week, Dr. Goode is mired in wedding trauma but tries to have sessions with Janeane Garofalo & Hef (he’s stressed about his girlfriends), obvs. they do not go very well.

ead Case is back with an expanded Goode Therapy site (more traumatizing than last spring’s even…). If you want to take a look it’s here: http://www.starz.com/originals/HeadCase/GoodeTherapy/Pages/GoodeTherapy.aspx

The American Country Music Awards certainly brought a lot of extra buzz to Las Vegas over the weekend, but what really had temperatures soaring was Hugh Hefner’s 83rd Birthday at the Palms Resort & Casino. The festivities kicked off Saturday afternoon with a Palms Place pool party, hosted by (wait for it) Hef’s former flame, Holly Madison.

“I haven’t seen him since I left the mansion,” Madison told Tarts before his arrival. “And it is my first time filming “Girls Next Door” as a single lady so that’s exciting.”

But Madison wasn’t the only ex girlfriend who came to celebrate the special day, surprisingly Kendra Wilkinson and Bridget Marquardt also strutted in (with their new lovers) to help Hef and his three new leading ladies Crystal Harris, Karissa Shannon & Kristina Shannon spice up Sin City and the birthday boy couldn’t have been more beside himself.

“As you can tell I am very, very happy. To celebrate my birthday with new girlfriends and former girlfriends is perfect, its wonderful,” he said. “I’ve had a life well-lived with so much satisfaction, I enjoy just looking back.”

(Speaking of which, we couldn’t help but keep a close eye on how the new and the old bonded and while chances are they probably aren’t necessarily BFFs, things appeared to be very civil and no claws came out!)

However when we asked what Madison missed most about mansion life her response was a love affair of a different kind.

“The zoo, the mansion has a fantastic zoo with birds and monkeys — I used to work in the zoo a lot and was really close to the zoo staff,” she said. “I fancied myself as an amateur zoologist.”

But Hef and the crazy creatures aren’t the only things Miss Madison has moved away from, she also promised Pop Tarts that her days of baring that bangin’ body are over … Sorry guys!

“I’m never getting naked again,” she vowed. “I’m over it, I’ve done it so many times. It is time to switch it up.”

Kendra on the other hand hasn’t ruled out posing for Playboy again — however conditions do apply.

“If Hank (Baskett, her fiancé) shoots the spread I will do it again,” Wilkinson told Tarts. “He has actually been practicing his photography skills. I’m a little more conservative nowadays, so I’ll pose for Playboy but only if Hank takes the photographs.”

On the note of posing, Madison happily showed off her simply sensational swimsuit body thanks to DWTS (even though she told us that she was “beaten up” and looked “disgusting with all the bruises”). But it seems even having been thru several seasons of “Girls Next Door” and the grueling ABC dance show, the 29-year-old isn’t ready to escape the reality arena.

“I’m developing my own reality show that I’m producing too, it’s going to be about me and my friends here in Vegas,” Madison added.

The busty blonde later joined fellow former flames Bridget and Kendra to surprise their ex-boyfriend with a custom birthday cake which was provided by Kerry Simon of Simon at Palms Place. In the evening Hef and all the girls had dinner at N9NE steakhouse before hitting up the Playboy Club. The publishing icon then partied in Moon Nightclub until the wee hours where Bridget sang him an ultra-sexy Marilyn Monroe-style rendition of Happy Birthday. Phew, so how does an 83-year-old manage to bunny hop around so much?

“Surrounding myself with beautiful women keeps me young,” Hef assured us with a cheeky smile.

Hugh Hefner’s twin girlfriends may seem perfect, but their bleached blonde hair was recently deemed “too overprocessed” to be donated for charity.

The revelation about the poor-quality locks of Karissa and Kristina Shannon comes after 2008’s “Playmate of the Year” Jayde Nicole established her own charity “Lengths for Love,” and encouraged other playmates to donate their hair toward raising cancer awareness.

Nicole has enlisted the help of dozens of playmates and bunnies from all eras to “hop” into the project too. Just one major problem — hair that has been bleached can’t be used to make wigs and well, that pretty much cuts out 95 percent of the Playboy population — including the twins.

“The twins (Hef’s new girlfriends) can’t actually donate their hair, the hair used has to be healthy enough to be retreated and not too over-processed,” Nicole told Tarts. “So we’re doing lots of fundraisers and events as well that everyone (including her PMOY predecessor Sara Jean Underwood, Hef’s former flame Holly Madison and his current number one Crystal Harris) can be involved with. Hef is supporting it too; he’s a huge fan of charities.”

Nicole said that sometime over the summer the men’s magazine mogul even hopes to open the iconic Mansion for a party to raise funds for the cause. The starlet’s beau Brody Jenner also wanted to play a big part in “Lengths For Love” – but it was she who decided that that might not be so lovely.

“Brody wanted to grow his hair long but I had to tell him that wasn’t such a good idea and that there was far more beneficial things he could do,” she admitted with a laugh.

But when she’s not tending to her hot head of hair, the brunette babe is busy bouncing around her current residence which is Hef’s Bunny House, filming The Hills with Brody (she said she loves the never-ending drama) and is getting ready to hand over her tantalizing title to the next lady in line.

“Everyone keeps asking me if I’m sad (to relinquish the title) but I’m actually really excited,” she added. “It has opened so many doors and there is so much opportunity for me at the moment. I am so excited for the new girl, it’s going to change her life.”

Hugh Hefner is still surrounded by bevies of busty beauties below the age of 25 — but is age finally catching up to the men’s magazine mogul?

The 83-year-old made a brief appearance at the Annual Kandyland Masquerade Ball at the iconic Mansion on Saturday night, but we’re told by numerous Playboy party regulars that while he appeared in good spirits, Hefner looked far from his normally alert and healthy self.

“He looked so old, like he had aged 10 years in the last month and was barely moving,” said an insider, adding that Hef’s new number one Crystal held his hand and assisted him as she “slowly shuffled” along while his other lovers (the 19-year-old Shannon twins) marched ahead of the bunny brigade and reveled in the limelight.

“I have some aches and pains and I have had lower back problems since the ’80s,” Hefner told Tarts last year. “Too much time in bed rustling around with friends.”

But are Hef’s health concerns a little more serious these days and has it got to do with the recent upheaval of the Girls Next Door?

“Things aren’t quite the same since Holly and the girls left,” added our insider. “Hef loves all the new ones, but I think the transition really took its toll.”

Still, Hefner’s rep denied any health problems, telling Tarts that “Hef is perfectly fine.”

“In the last three weeks, Hef has traveled to Italy to be a featured guest at the Sanremo Music Festival, attended the Playboy Jazz Festival press conference and hosted his usual weekend movie night events. He hasn’t missed a day of work or an hour of partying and he’s better and busier than ever. Party guests are misinformed.”

Karissa and Kristina Shannon are only 19 years old, but they’ve shacked up with what appears to be a very loved-up Hugh Hefner and even though they’re official girlfriends, the Shannon sisters still chose to bare their breasts at the Super Bowl bash held at the iconic mansion on Sunday. With their hair in pig tails, the girls wore “69″ cheergirl midriff tops – only they were made from water and color rather than a needle and thread.

The ladies used half-time to step outside and pose for pictures with fans and were carefully poised in between Hef’s main squeeze, 22-year-old Crystal Harris. After the game the girls returned for another quick cameo alongside Hef who was surrounded by flocks of females all vying for his attention. But unlike most of the playmates hopping around them, are the 82-year-old’s twin girlfriends set to alter the traditional playboy image and stay flat-chested?

“Hef really likes them as they are and so far no plans for surgery have been put in place,” said an inside source. “It could just be a matter of time, but as for now they’re content being natural.”

But one other (male, mind you) close to the men’s magazine mogul thinks their lack of silicon is already ruining reputations.

“They’re A’s and they’re representing Playboy, ridiculous,” said the source.

In the past Hef has happily paid for his lovers to go under the knife, but amid the economy crisis could this be another means for the mogul to save a little money?

Aside from the pole dancers, massage therapists, bunnies and broods of body-painted babes also in attendance at the popular charity-driven party was Denise Richards, Ron Jeremy, AnnaLynne McCord, “Pussycat Dolls” creator Robin Antin, ice-skater Sasha Cohen, former playmate Brande Roderick and Brett Michaels.

But speaking of girlfriends, it seems Hef’s former number one Holly Madison has now fully wiped her hands of the magazine empire. Despite telling Tarts after the break-up that she had full intentions to continue working in the art department, TMZ reported that she resigned from her position this week in order to spend more time in Sin City with her magician beau, Criss Angel.

Hugh Hefner has quietly added a new girlfriend to his posse. And she’s a “good girl.”

“I’m a good girl, for the most part,” new Hef gal pal Crystal Harris writes on her MySpace page.

The 22-year-old lesser-known girlfriend has frequently been photographed by the 82-year-old Playboy founder’s side, but never got a proper public introduction after former girlfriends Holly Madison, Bridget Marquardt and Kendra Wilkinson exited the Playboy Mansion.

Instead, fellow girlfriends – and 19-year-old twins – Karissa and Kristina Shannon nabbed headlines with their arrest records and, well, twindom, in the aftermath of the shake-up.

Harris introduced herself on an E! online message board over the holidays, telling fans that “Hef gave me permission to fill people in on the new updates as a voice from the mansion.”

No other girlfriends are in the mix at this time, she says, but “there are a couple that we have interest in. … As for now, it is just us three.”

Despite her low-key status, Harris already has a fan site, but seems to focus most of her attention on her MySpace page.

“I believe in opening your heart and letting your walls down, it is better to have loved and lost, than to never have loved at all,” Harris says on her site, which is peppered with Disney characters, cute animals, inspirational quotes and plenty of pink.

And, of course, the ubiquitous lingerie photos.

Harris hasn’t posed for her boyfriend’s magazine, but did appear in a series of topless and semi-nude photos as a Co-ed of the Week on Playboy.com in late October under the name “Crystal Carter.”

Pin-up moments aside, the 34-25-34 San Diego State University psychology student and PETA supporter lists “the rain, the seasons, fast cars, good food, volunteering, great company, caring and honest people, the ocean and animals” among her interests.

Harris was first spotted with Hefner – and the twins – in early October after Madison announced her split from the playboy, but has been cropped out of photos of the crew on more than one occasion.

E! has remained vague on whether they’ll renew hit series “The Girls Next Door,” which made Hefner’s former girlfriends reality TV stars, with the publisher’s new flames.

Hugh Hefner’s teenage sons, Marston and Cooper, are split on whether they would take after their dad in the dating department.

Before splitting earlier this year, 82-year-old Hef famously juggled three babes — Holly Madison, Kendra Wilkinson and Bridget Marquardt. He is now dating 19-year-old twins Karissa and Kristina Shannon.

“I’m not going to have multiple girlfriends — not at the same time,” 18-year-old Marston Hefner says in the January issue of Playboy “I can’t imagine that.”

His brother, 17-year-old Cooper Hefner, begs to differ.

“I can imagine doing that. I don’t think it’s an odd thing to do,” he says. “You date around to try to find a connection with some girl.”

Cooper admits he’s “already gotten in trouble” and had the “revolving-door conversation” with his mother, former Playmate Kimberley Conrad.

“One girl comes in the front door while the other one gets pushed out the back,” Cooper says, adding that his mother has told him, “‘We do not have a revolving door in this house!’

“She’s all about one girlfriend at a time,” he says.

Cooper also says growing up in the Playboy mansion is overrated.

“They don’t get it when you say, ‘There’s nothing to do there,’” he says. “But when you live here and come here every single day, you see the same things.

“Anybody else would be like, ‘Let’s go see monkeys!’ But I don’t want to see monkeys,” he goes on. “I’d rather go bowling than play with monkeys.”

Though their dad is adored by many, they view him as a bad dancer.

“He is cool out there because his moves are so uncool,” Marston says. “He’s a disco inferno from another planet!”

Adds Cooper, “He’s utterly confused, moving his body -— the fast shuffles, the crazy elbows — as if he’s not sure what he’s doing. And all these girls on both sides are freaking on him. It should be awkward, but it isn’t for him. It sort of works. Nobody alive can dance like him.”

So do the boys ever want to run Playboy one day?

“I definitely want to be involved with the company,” Cooper says. “If I were to take over the company or have a say in what’s going on, I’d want the girls to be presented more as they were in the pictorials back in the 1950s and 1960s -— kind of artsy, classy. I would like to bring back that retro-class feel.”‘
