Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon had another PDA-packed public date Wednesday, taking Witherspoon’s two children, Ava, 8, and Deacon, 4, trick or treating in L.A.’s Brentwood neighborhood.

Witherspoon, 31, dressed as a witch; Gyllenhaal, 26, an ape.

“They were holding hands and swinging them in the air as they walked around the neighborhood,” adds a witness, who says Gyllenhaal often lifted up his gorilla mask to smooch his Rendition co-star. “Reese was laughing at everything Jake was saying.”

As Ava (also in witch wardrobe) and Deacon (dressed as a super hero) ran up to every door for treats, “Reese and Jake waited on the sidewalk and flirted,” the onlooker tells Usmagazine.com.

They even started to act like a pair of giddy kids themselves.

“Jake tapped Reese on the butt and then she hit him back — they began running a circle hitting each other!” the witness says. “Then Jake picked Reese up off her feet and she screamed.”

Gyllenhaal seemed to play it cool during his first public outing with Witherspoon’s children.

“Jake ran up to Deacon with the gorilla mask and pretended to scare him!” the onlooker says. “Deacon laughed.”

He also had a few scares for Witherspoon.

Adds the witness, “Sometimes he came up from behind and nuzzled his big hairy mask into her neck.”

There has been much speculation about their relationship and now Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal have finally come out as a couple.

The pair met on set of the upcoming movie Rendition and have now taken their romance public – they were spotted holding hands and canoodling during a romantic trip to Rome.

Witherspoon, 31, whose divorce from former husband Ryan Phillippe was finalised this month, had previously denied a romance with the Brokeback Mountain star.

The pair first began dating around March this year, although they were careful to avoid being photographed together.

However, Reese, who has two children Ava, 8, and Deacon, 3, called the romance off in June, according to reports.

Now it’s clear their love affair is most definitely back on.

Reese has said: “I have known Jake for years through different friends and he is just wonderful.

“He’s very kind, generous and funny.”

In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres this week she continued to hint at her fondness for the actor describing him as “cute” and “great”.

Oscar winner Reese has made it clear she likes to be the one in control of a relationship.

She told Elle magazine last month: “[My dad and uncle] taught me that in every relationship, the person least interested in maintaining it is going to dominate it, because they’ll never compromise.

“So you have to always maintain that position of least interest, and you’ll always control the relationship.”

Still, she insists: “I’m fun. I can be really fun.”

Gyllenhaal, 26, has previously dated actress Kirsten Dunst.

Jake Gyllenhaal said Sunday his new movie, “Rendition,” shows that torture is wrong, but it also questions whether it might help save lives in the fight against terrorism.

The film, which also stars Reese Witherspoon and Meryl Streep, focuses on the practice of extraordinary renditions, or transferring terrorism suspects to other countries where their interrogators could abuse or torture them.

The U.S. government has said it only uses renditions after it is assured that transferred prisoners will not be subjected to torture.

The movie tells the story of an Egyptian-born man suspected of involvement in a Middle East bombing who is abducted by U.S. authorities and sent overseas for questioning at a secret facility.

“It says that torture is wrong. I think you can see in the film that it does not work,” Gyllenhaal told a news conference after the movie was screened at the Rome Film Festival.

“But I also think it presents the political side of it, too, which is saying that you could be torturing one innocent man, but at the same time 5,000 people are alive … because of information that the government elicited through (extraordinary) rendition.”

Gyllenhaal plays a CIA analyst who comes to question the U.S. government’s sanctioning of the practice.

Director Gavin Hood, whose South African drama “Tsotsi” won the 2005 foreign-language Oscar, said he hoped the film would spark debate about the practice of extraordinary renditions.

“It is easy to talk about arbitrary detention and enhanced interrogation techniques and all these fancy words in the abstract,” Hood said. “(Then) we realize that in fact it is about people, not just the people to who it happens, but the people who are involved in having to do this.”

Jake Gyllenhaal is way beyond the simple choice of boxers vs. briefs. A shopper in Bloomingdale’s underwear department recently watched the “Brokeback Mountain” star with a salesman “combing through every style . . . A good 10 minutes later, Jake was still at it . . . holding up a pair of tight white briefs that he’d pulled out of the package to examine, as if he’d never seen tighty whities before in his entire life. It was hilarious. He looked very confused and had a furrowed brow . . . He was examining undies like an anthropologist in the city’s most highly trafficked department store.”

Armstrong Denies McConaughey Rumors – Says They ‘Are Just Friends’

Lance Armstrong refuted rumors that he and Matthew McConaughey are gay, though he did joke about the speculation in a new interview in Details magazine.

“We tried it” the cycling legend quipped. “Wasn’t for us”

The two Texas natives have been seen together often in previous months, leading to some speculation that the two are more than friends. While long time acquaintances, the two became closer this year as Armstrong’s relationship with Sheryl Crowe and McConaughey’s relationship with Penelope Cruz both fell apart.

While they deny rumors that they are in a romantic relationship together, they nevertheless have pet names for one another. Armstrong reveals in the interview that they call each other ‘LiveStrong’ and ‘J.K. Livin’.
