Jeff Gordon’s wife Ingrid Vandebosch gave birth to the couple’s first child today, daughter Ella Sofia Gordon.

In an announcement released on his website, Gordon, 35, said, “It’s been an absolutely incredible experience. Ingrid came through amazingly and we’re both really happy and overjoyed. We can’t wait to get home and start our lives together as a family.”

Gordon and Vandebosch, 37, have been married since November 2006.

The four-time NASCAR Cup Series champ won’t have much time to adjust to fatherhood, as he resumes his racing commitments this weekend at the Nextel Cup Series race in Northern California.

NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon wed Belgian model Ingrid Vandebosch in a private ceremony in Mexico Tuesday. The newlyweds will ‘honeymoon’ in Phoenix, Arizona, and Miami, Florida, – the site of the final two events in the 2006 NASCAR season. The official honeymoon will take place in an undisclosed location once the season ends.

Gordon, 35, is a four-time NASCAR Cup Series Champion. This will be his second marriage. He divorced his wife of nine years, Jennifer Brooke Sealy, in 2003. Vandebosch, 37, began modeling when she was 16-years-old and has also had bit parts in such films as Going Greek and Taxi.
