Jennifer Aniston is shelling out $21 million for a magnificent California Modern dwelling in the hills of Bel Air. With an original listing price of $24.9 million, it seems that the real estate juggling actress got quite the bargain on the mid-century mod designed by architect A. Quincy Jones, sources say.

Built in 1965, the completely remodeled 8,500-square-foot property features the quintessential modernist features; post-and-beam architecture with flowing lines and symmetry, vast interior spaces and floor-to-ceiling walls of glass open the home to ocean and city views. Besides the home, Aniston’s new private estate includes a tranquil koi pond and garden, pool and a detached guest house, while the rear of the property is lined with rows of grapevines.

Jennifer Aniston stepped off an elevator Saturday and became one of the hottest reporters at the Daily News.
Well, kinda …

Aniston – along with a film crew and an enthusiastic cadre of extras – were shooting scenes for the upcoming action comedy “The Bounty.”

The former “Friends” star plays a hard-nosed New York reporter who gets arrested while investigating a story.

Instead of making a scheduled court appearance she doggedly pursues her lead, and her ex-hubby – played by Scotsman Gerard Butler – is the bail bondsman charged with hunting her down.

The petite stunner looked right at home as she strode down the halls, past the framed photos of The News’ Pulitzer Prize-winning writers.

Dressed in a white sleeveless blouse, gray miniskirt and high heels, she ducked into the ladies’ room for a powwow with a colleague before heading into the newsroom.

The movie is directed by Andy Tennant (“Hitch,” “Sweet Home Alabama”) and also stars “Saturday Night Live’s” Jason Sudeikis as a Daily News reporter with a crush on Aniston.

In between takes, Aniston laughed with techs and wardrobe aides and snacked on thinly peeled string cheese.

The extras delighted in the behind-the-scenes peek at the Daily News, and marveled at the framed front pages.

“It’s exciting, seeing everything on the wall. Normally it’s a contrived set,” actress Michelle DiBenedetti said.

Actors were issued laminated Daily News ID cards as props. “I hope they let us keep them,” extra Julie Stone said.
“It’d be a great souvenir.”

Bradley Cooper really is the man of the moment, and now he’s got a new lady on his arm: Renee Zellweger.

Although “The Hangover” star has been busy claiming he’s just friends with Jennifer Aniston – with whom he was seen having dinner late last month – he can hardly say the same about Zellweger after the two were caught on a cozy date Tuesday night.

We spotted the pair – who co-star in the upcoming thriller “Case 39″ – looking very into each other at upper East Side eatery Antonucci. The pair giggled and chatted in a corner booth of the restaurant and seemed to have amazing chemistry – Cooper even reached over to touch the “Bridget Jones” star’s arm and gazed at her adoringly. The duo lingered over dinner and drank serious amounts of white wine, then sipped from the same cup of tea after the meal was over.

Zellweger herself confirmed she was having a blast with her new man. When a restaurant patron told the actress she had a cute date, she giggled, “He’s sweet, really sweet!”

And hilarious, apparently. Throughout the night Zellweger, squealed, “You are so funny!”

The date seemed to remain great even when the paparazzi made an appearance around 11:30. Cooper and Zellweger playfully slid down in their booth to avoid being seen, while giggling and whispering intimately to avoid being overheard and plotting how to avoid being caught by the paps when they made their exit.

Finally, without saying goodbye, Zellweger asked, “Do you mind if I go first? I’ll see you in a little bit,” and paid the tab (what a lady!) before leaving the boite around midnight while Cooper lingered.

We think this is the beginning of a beautiful relationship. Although the actor has been linked to beauties like “Nip/Tuck” star Rhona Mitra and actress Lake Bell, he and Zellweger seem like a match made in heaven. The real question: How long will the two last? Both Zellweger and Cooper split from their exes – country singer Kenny Chesney and actress Jennifer Esposito, respectively – after just four months each.

It was Jennifer Aniston’s night to shine as she received Women in Film’s prestigious Crystal Award for expanding the role of women in the entertainment industry on Friday evening.

For a change the stunning actress, who looked particularly pleasing in a form-forming Prada strapless dress, was in the spotlight for her professional life rather than her personal life.

But how does Aniston feel about being the most talked about starlet in Tinseltown?

“I’m really not bothered by it. They aren’t talking to me,” she told Tarts before the sit-down dinner, adding that she takes time “everyday” to be thankful for her life and career.

But even despite her success (at least when it comes to her “reel” life), it’s comforting to know that even the Jennifer Aniston struggles to see herself on the silver screen.

“I have to be self-critical,” she added.”I think it’s good to sort of go, ‘Well yeah don’t do that next time’ or ‘not a great choice.’ You’ve always got to keep trying things but sometimes not everything’s going to work.”

Speaking of criticism, Aniston got quite the surprise during the show when host Chelsea Handler decided to raise the issue of her ruptured romance in front of the star-studded audience.

“You also stopped expanding the visibility of John Mayer, and we all thank you for that,” Handler joked, motivating Aniston to bury her head in her hands followed by a look of embarrassed disbelief.

But all in good humor, the 40-year-old took aim at her own lousy love life while accepting the honor.

“I’m trying to be more careful than I have been in the past about the titles of movies that I choose to be in. It’s funny — I kind of noticed something a couple years ago that there seemed to be this strange parallel to the movies I was doing and my life off screen,” Aniston explained. “It started with ‘The Good Girl,’” she explained. “Then that evolved into ‘Rumor Has It,’ followed by ‘Derailed,’ and then there was ‘The Break-Up.’ And then on the lighter side was ‘Friends with Money,’ which I felt was a bit on the nose. So if any of you have a project titled ‘Everlasting Love with an Adult, Stable Male …’”

Brad Pitt has been making drunken calls to ex-wife Jennifer Aniston, it has been claimed.

The actor, 45, has apparently been opening his heart to Aniston about his miserable relationship with Angelina Jolie.

“She was initially taken aback — especially as he sounded drunk and sorry for himself,” an insider tells Britain’s Now magazine. “He told her he misses her and that he’s sorry for any hurt caused.

“Jen being Jen immediately told him she’d never held a grudge against him and would welcome them being friends again, so long as she doesn’t have to be friends with Angelina. He agreed.

“Before the call, Brad hardly ever spoke to Jen and the relationship was strained. But this phone conversation broke the ice and opened the lines of communication once more.”

Pitt & Aniston married in 2000 and got divorced in 2005.

JENNIFER Aniston and Bradley Cooper sure did act strangely at Tuesday’s party for Aniston’s new flick, “Management,” at Table 8. First, Cooper attempted to bypass the red carpet by wearing a hat and sunglasses. After he made it in, he and Aniston flirted up a storm while Cooper’s ex, Jennifer Esposito, angrily drank Svedka near the bar and refused to enter the main room. “Bradley and Jennifer [Aniston] were definitely into each other,” says a partygoer. “She kept touching his chest and whispering in his ear.” The pair left 10 minutes apart, after Cooper bizarrely changed out of a white button-down shirt into a blue one.

Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer may have called it quits.

That’s the rumor I’m hearing. A source says the pair’s on-again, off-again relationship may have ended sometime within the last week, when Aniston returned from her overseas Marley & Me junket.

“He broke up with her when she got back from her European tour,” the source said.

Aniston’s rep did not immediately comment. Mayer’s rep declined to comment on the singer’s personal life.

But what are their friends saying?

One pal warns that we shouldn’t be quick to assume the two are through for good. As we know, this wouldn’t be the first time they’ve gone their separate ways.

Aniston recently opened up about love and romance to the U.K. magazine You. “Who ever said that every relationship has to last forever? That’s hoping too much,” said Aniston, who turned 40 exactly a month ago. “I think every relationship is a world unto itself.”

As for finding the perfect partner, she said, “I don’t have one and I don’t think it exists.”

Aniston and Mayer went public for the first time at the Oscars at the end of last month. Backstage at the Kodak Theatre, Aniston told Gayle King, who was interviewing them for her pal Oprah’s show, that she was “very happy.” Later in the night, they strolled arm in arm into the Vanity Fair postshow party at the Sunset Tower Hotel.

Most recently, Aniston was spotted on Monday at the same hotel grabbing a bite to eat at the Terrace restaurant. She’ll be jetting to New York City in the spring to shoot The Baster, in which she stars opposite Jason Bateman as an unmarried 40-year-old who decides to have a baby with her best friend.
Mayer, meanwhile, has been in the studio working on a new album.
