Kevin Smith isn’t writing a tell-all, but he is spilling about the A-listers he has worked with.

The director, who’s shooting “A Couple of Dicks” with Bruce Willis, revealed that he and Jennifer Garner didn’t exactly see eye to eye while filming “Catch and Release” in 2006.

“Jennifer does not share the same sense of humor as me — she did not like my jokes,” Smith said during the “Silent Bob Speaks” chat at Carnegie Hall on Wednesday night. “I was picking on [Jen’s husband] Ben Affleck and making fun of him because I’ve known him for a really long time — I was talking smack — and Jennifer goes, ‘You know, if you keep saying stuff about him, I’m going to kick your a—.’ And she could — I’ve seen ‘Alias.’ She has a real girly sense of humor and didn’t understand that I was kidding.”

The portly Smith, who first directed Affleck in 1995’s “Mallrats,” continued, “I remember talking to Ben and being like, ‘I know your lady is not finding me amusing. Ben, I’ve known you for years, and you are far sicker than I am!’ His jokes are way dirtier than mine. He’s made jokes to me, and I’ve been like, ‘Ben, you need to go to church.’”

All kidding aside, Smith clearly has a lot of affection for Affleck.

“Ben is one of the most intelligent people on the planet,” he said. “He will run for office and one day be President, and then we’ll smoke a joint in the Oval Office. He’s very well-spoken and been brought up extremely well, but he’s filthy!”

Smith also chatted about his love for the late George Carlin and for Willis, who he says has “been in literally every cop movie ever made.” He added — rather randomly — that he’d save Wayne Gretzky’s life over Steven Spielberg’s or George Lucas’, and went on to profess his admiration for comedy king of the moment Seth Rogen.

“Seth is on top of the world. He has nine movies going on — all of them with [Judd] Apatow,” Smith said of his “Zack and Miri” star. “I was like, ‘Seth, you changed my definition of success — you are a functioning stoner.’”

Matthew McConaughey and Jennifer Garner are known for their bangin’ bodies, but the romantic co-stars of Ghosts of Girlfriends Past took things to a whole new level when they battled it out by on-set pumping.

“They are actually both really intense hard workers and both athletes by nature,” director Mark Water said at the Hollywood premiere this week. “They would actually get very competitive with each other because Matthew pumps himself up by doing push-ups before every take. Eventually Jennifer started to do push-ups too, and there was one-handed push ups, who could beat the other person? They were all pushing each other out and I was sitting there with my big belly from eating Dunkin Donuts going ‘guys look we have to do a take please.’”

Garner, despite carrying baby number two in her belly, didn’t want to be out-done by her male counterpart and thus sweated it out on-set, too.

“We had to pick up a shot, when I was six months pregnant, and Matthew did push-ups all the time before to get himself pumped up,” Garner explained. “We were picking up this shot one day and so he stopped down, jumped down, and started doing his push ups. I just said ‘I am sick of watching you do these’ so I just matched him.”

However, Mr. McConaughey (who is just as famous for working out shirtless) said it was actually Garner who put the hard word on him.

“I didn’t get her doing them. She got me doing them so I would hop down and do ten or so (push-ups) before a scene to just kind of break a little bit of a sweat. She would bop down and do fifteen and she started upping it every single time,” he argued. “Its more mental actually than physical for when you are doing it on a daily basis when I am working. It’s just about a little physical excursion — kind of loosens up my brain and helps me be more creative.”

So who won the war?

“Matthew,” Water said confidently.

And even though McConaughey was pretty laid back over the battle of the sexes, when it came to finding someone to match his top-notch abs it seems that’s when the inner-diva came out.

According to the director, of the actor/Sexiest Man Alive title-holder didn’t give the green-light to any of the male models they had try-out for the part of his body-double.

“Matthew’s abs are trademarked. We had a long shot we needed a body-double for but he didn’t approve anyone,” Waters told Tarts at the premiere in Hollywood on Monday. “Nobody matched up or had abs as good. I made him lift up his shirt, and I decided Matthew really does have the best.”

Speaking of the best, McConaughey told Tarts that since becoming a father last year life couldn’t be better.

“I’ve got more stuff to do now, more stuff to fill the days,” he said with a smile. “I’m probably having more fun because my favorite people to hang with are Levi and Levi’s mom. We totally rock, we jam.”

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck have revealed their second daughter’s name: Seraphina, a source confirms to Usmagazine.com.

The girl was born Jan. 6 in Los Angeles.

Garner and Affleck — also parents to daughter Violet, 3 — did not reveal the meaning behind the baby’s name.

“Seraphina is an elaborately feminine kind of name that’s really come into style over the past few years, like [Affleck's friend Matt Damon's daughter] Isabella,” Baby Name Bible author Pamela Redmond Satran, who also runs Web site Nameberry, tells Us.

“Seraphim is one of the highest orders of angels,” adds Satran. “It kind of follows from Angelina, which has gotten super popular because of Angelina Jolie, as a a spiritual, heavenly name.

The ‘ph’ spelling of Seraphina is more Hebrew in origin. It means ‘ardent,’ which is passionate,” she says.

“Ben and Jen really put Violet on the map,” Satran says of the couple’s knack for naming. “They transformed it from what people saw as a dowdy, old lady name to a really cute, modern choice.”

Jennifer Garner has obtained a court order against a stalker.

The pregnant actress, 36, feels Steven Burky is threatening her family, according to court papers TMZ.com obtained.

“Mr. Burky has been stalking and harassing me,” sending “packages and letters containing delusional and paranoid thoughts and following me around the country,” the papers say.

Garner claims Burky – who is currently being held in a mental hospital per a court order – has been harassing her since 2002, but within the past year “his obsessive and harassing behavior has escalated to the point of becoming dangerous and threatening.”

Burky once visited Garner’s home and said, “God has sent him a vision of her being persecuted in some manner that may result in her death.”

“I am currently pregnant and fear for the safety of my second child once born,” Garner writes in the court order. She is also mother to two-year-old Violet with husband Ben Affleck.

A judge issued a temporary restraining order earlier this month against Burky, who writes a blog called Satanic Panic that covers topics like human sacrifices.

A hearing will be held Thursday to make the restraining order permanent. The LAPD is also investigating the case, according to TMZ.com.

After months of speculation, Jennifer Garner has officially confirmed she is expecting a second child with her husband, Ben Affleck, in a new interview with Access Hollywood’s Tony Potts.

”Thank you,” Jennifer told Tony at the Baby Einstein’s 10th anniversary celebration on Wednesday, at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Downtown Los Angeles. “We’re so excited, obviously.”

Jennifer was coy with the news at first, joking with Tony as he wished her well.

“Congratulations. Can I say that?” Tony asked.

“For what?” Jennifer smiled.

“For baby number two,” Tony responded.

“Oh I’m not pregnant,” she giggled. “I just had a lot of carbs for breakfast. It’s just — what do they call it? A breakfast pouch? Bunch?”

Jennifer’s confirmation comes after weeks of speculation as her tummy size swelled to the visible baby bump she is currently sporting.

The child, whose sex Jennifer did not reveal, will be her second with Affleck.

Jennifer, 36, married Ben, also 36, in June 2005. They have one daughter – Violet, who was born in December 2005.

Jennifer’s pregnancy coincides with that of Luciana Damon, the wife of Ben’s pal Matt Damon. In March it was revealed that Matt and Luciana were expecting their second baby together, another daughter. Matt is also stepfather to Luciana’s 9-year-old, Alexia.

In June, Jennifer and Ben celebrated their third wedding anniversary. That same month, Ben told Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush, for “The Billy Bush Show,” family life was going well. “Things are pretty great,” Ben said. “We’re very happy. Things couldn’t be better. We’re kind of taking it easy and just kind of enjoying a little downtime at home.”

Jennifer told Tony the speculation over her baby in recent weeks has made her giggle.

“It always makes me laugh when people say ‘Is she?’ ‘Isn’t she?’ It’s like eventually you will know, so just chill out for a minute,” she said.

And the expectant actress said she is prepared thanks to her daughter, Violet.

“Yeah, been through it,” Jennifer said. “It’s all good, it’s great. I’m really excited.”

To see our entire interview with a glowing Jennifer, tune into Access Hollywood on Thursday August 21.

Expectant couples Ben Affleck & Jennifer Garner and Matt Damon & wife Luciana turned out for a Miami fundraiser Saturday for Barack Obama.

Garner, sporting a small baby bump, looked radiant in a chic short black cocktail dress and sexy high-heeled sandals. Luciana, very pregnant, was decked out in a long black skirt with a strapless tank top.

The couples attended a private $1,000-per-person VIP reception at club SET to support the presumptive Democratic presidential candidate.

After spending orientation time in The Trophy Room, the four friends headed for SET’s Hip Hop Room to socialize with guests before giving speeches from the stage.

“Jennifer Garner gave the first speech supporting Obama, and she was very witty, clever and funny,” says a source at SET. “She was followed by her husband Ben, then Matt Damon. The men gave serious political speeches on how the country needs change.”

The stars drank bottled water and took pictures with the guests.

“They were all in great moods and very friendly to everyone,” says another source, accompanied by a host who plunked down $5,000 for his group to meet the stars and support Obama.

Damon, who has a house in Miami Beach, told reporters outside of SET why he is supporting Obama: “For a lot of reasons. But mostly because I don’t like the path this country’s on and if McCain is elected we’ll be continuing down that same path.”

Also, Affleck told PEOPLE outside of SET that he doesn’t know if he is going to the Democratic Convention, but “I’d like to.”

The Afflecks and Damons departed in a limo after about 90 minutes and headed for a private party at Anthony Kennedy Shriver’s Miami Beach home.

Shriver is the founder and head of Best Buddies charity and first cousin of Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg, who is a member of the Obama Vice Presidential Nominating Committee.
