Jesse Metcalfe is “doing fine” after suffering a fall in Monaco over the weekend, his rep tells Usmagazine.com.

“He accidentally slipped off a balcony and was knocked unconscious,” the rep adds, “but he is fine and now recovering from some minor bruises in a London hospital.”

PerezHilton.com reported he fell 40 feet while at an afterparty for the World Music Awards – which he hosted – in Monaco Sunday.

The gossip website also said he’s receiving MRI scans today before returning to the U.S.

Metcalfe is most famous for playing Eva Longoria’s love interest on Desperate Housewives.

REHAB sure did wonders for troubled former “Desperate Housewives” star Jesse Metcalfe. The buff actor hosted the “Seduction Thursday” party at the Ivy Hotel in San Diego last week and got a free hotel room for his efforts. But, a source said, the room was trashed. “There was major damage,” we’re told. “His suite had cigarette burns in the furniture. There was food all over the walls and a broken door. All of the alcohol in the bar had been drunk.” Metcalfe tried to stay Friday night as well but was “asked to leave, instead.” A rep said, “He left his room, and [other people] made the mess.”

One celeb gets out of rehab, another goes in. On the heels of Britney Spears’ release from the Promises clinic, Hollywood hunk Jesse Metcalfe checked himself in to an undisclosed rehab center for alcohol abuse this week, a rep for the star confirmed. This decision was made Monday, the day before Page Six broke the story of Metcalfe’s weekend-long binge at the Mondrian hotel in L.A., where sources reported he looked like he hadn’t slept in days and was acting “very angry” and “out of control.” Now, Metcalfe’s rep has sent us the following statement: “On Monday, March 19, Jesse Metcalfe entered a rehab facility to deal with alcohol issues. He realized he had a problem and was anxious to deal with it immediately. The actor, best known as the hunky gardener on the ABC show ‘Desperate Housewives’ and the star of the film ‘John Tucker Must Die,’ hopes that the media will allow him the privacy to deal properly with his treatment.”

Don’t expect to see “Desperate Housewives” star Jesse Metcalfe by the pool at West Hollywood’s Mondrian any time soon. According to hotel guests, Metcalfe “was blacklisted” from the Mondrian after “partying for four days straight last week and being really mean to the staff.” The last straw came on Friday, when Metcalfe “blew up at the doorman at Skybar because they wouldn’t let him in.” Metcalfe’s bad behavior resulted in him not getting a guest room on Saturday, although a hotel rep claims he has not been officially banned. A rep for Metcalfe had no comment.
