There’s trouble in paradise for Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel.

Pals say the two were having problems long before rumors circulated that the singer cheated at NYC nightclub Avenue late last month. Timberlake and Biel, a couple for two years, haven’t been spotted together since late May, and friends say their relationship is quickly going south.

“Things don’t look good for them right now — they’ve hit a really rocky spot,” confides a source close to Timberlake, who adds that serious problems began back in February during a boys’ trip to Las Vegas.

“Justin had to leave dinner once because Jessica was calling him incessantly. They got into a huge screaming match over the phone about how she’s always ‘checking up’ on him. She’s extremely needy and is always keeping tabs on him.”

The insider isn’t the only one who thinks Biel is a bother. “All his friends think she’s really annoying,” added the source. “She’s always trying to be one of the guys. She and Justin have no chemistry.”

And if things went badly between JT and Biel the last time the singer went away for a weekend with the boys, they’re surely no better now.

“Justin is partying in London right now,” said the insider. “Jessica wanted to go with him, but he wasn’t having it. He just wanted to get away with the guys. He needed his space from her.”

JT certainly does seem to be having a blast in the U.K. He attended Elton John’s White Tie and Tiara Ball and a concert with Prince Harry and Chace Crawford in Hyde Park, hit Wimbledon and launched his clothing line, William Rast — all before going out for a night on the town with Madonna’s ex Guy Ritchie.

At least one Timberlake pal has Biel’s back. “Jessica is really fun to be around,” says JT’s former ’N Sync cohort Lance Bass. “I haven’t spoken to Justin in a while, but the last I knew, he really loved her.”

Timberlake’s rep says she doesn’t comment on her client’s personal life; Biel’s didn’t respond to calls.

Everyone is still buzzing about Justin Timberlake’s “Saturday Night Live” appearance this past weekend, including his girlfriend, Jessica Biel.

At a Cinema Society screening of her new movie, “Easy Virtue,” the bombshell told us, “I think he just killed it. The ‘Motherlover’ skit [where Timberlake and Andy Samberg joke about sleeping with each other's mothers] was so wrong, it had to be right.”

And what about the sketch in which Timberlake admits to bedding his ex, Britney Spears?

“I thought that was really funny,” Biel said. And no, Justin didn’t tell her about it beforehand.

“I had heard a couple of things [about the show], but I didn’t really know what it was actually going to be. It was all pretty much a surprise.”

Biel, who introduced Timberlake when he performed with musical guest Ciara, described her on-air experience as “nerve-racking. It’s a tough crowd because it’s live and it’s a big venue.”

But while the actress was happy to bask in the afterglow of her man’s performance, Timberlake himself didn’t want any attention at “Easy Virtue’s” Brooks Brothers afterparty.

Arriving with Biel, JT kept his back turned while photographers shot his girlfriend. He later did solo shots, but kept declining – politely – to pose with his lady. “He really wanted the night to be about her and her movie,” an insider told us.

While “Easy Virtue” opens nationwide in theaters soon, a smaller audience is expected for Biel’s other buzzed-about role, in “Powder Blue,” in which she plays a stripper. The reason? It’s being released straight to DVD.

“You always take that risk, that [your film] might not go anywhere. It’s rare, but it does happen,” said Biel. “It’s terrible.”
Perhaps it’s because everyone’s already seen the film’s money shot. Clips of a topless, writhing Biel pouring hot wax on herself have been circulating for months.

“I’m bothered when scenes leak,” Biel said. “It’s disappointing how people take your work, put it on the chopping block, rip it apart and judge it. I’m like, ‘Maybe you should just see the movie.’”

Justin Timberlake may have presented a major fashion show Tuesday, but his primary concern was girlfriend Jessica Biel.

Backstage at the Mercedes-Benz Star Lounge following his William Rast show, Justin doted on his lady love and avoided all other females. “There were all these models like Erin Wasson, Coco Rocha and May Andersen vying for his attention,” says a spywitness. “But Justin only had eyes for Jessica.”

While the two aren’t picking out wedding rings just yet, they did select matching pairs of Havaianas flip-flops before heading to the show’s after-party at Rose Bar. There, pals like Emile Hirsch and Gerard Butler were on hand, but Jessica and Justin barely noticed.

“They were all over each other and PDA-ing like crazy!” says an eyewitness.

It’s a good thing Jessica has the approval of Justin’s mother. “She is a lovely person,” Justin’s mama, Lynn, told us outside the W Lounge. “Justin should just put her out there on the runway, and that’s all he’ll need to do to sell clothes. She’d look like a million bucks in a garbage bag!”
