Julia Roberts made her grand return to Lincoln Center on Monday, and this time around she went curse-free.

The actress’ sweet-natured speech at the late Paul Newman’s Hole in the Wall Camps benefit was a vast difference from the F-bomb-splattered talk she gave at an event roasting Tom Hanks in April.

After performing with campers to a kicky “Chorus Line”-esque dance routine, Roberts took to the podium and revealed that she’d called Newman’s widow, Joanne Woodward, earlier in the day and asked if there was anything specific she should mention in her speech. Said Roberts: “Joanne said, ‘I’d like you to tell my favorite story about the first time you were a counselor” at Hole in the Wall Camps.

Roberts obliged, recalling that 13 years earlier, one of the campers recognized the “Hook” actress and called home to say, “Mom, you’re never going to believe who our counselor is: It’s Tinkerbell!”

Later, Roberts bear-hugged surprise guest Bill Clinton and reminisced about her two visits to the White House before grabbing a camper and dancing to a performance by Harry Connick Jr.

Pretty woman, indeed.

Julia Roberts, 41, showed off her toned bikini body in Hawaii on Monday while vacationing with her husband, Danny Moder, and their three kids, 3-year-old twins Hazel and Phinnaeus and 1-year-old son, Henry.

“The key to beauty is always to be looking at someone who loves you, really,” Roberts told the March issue of Allure. “One of my favorite things about my children right now, even Henry, who can’t say all the words…sometimes he’ll see me and go, ‘Ma-ma!’ and throw himself on me. Or Finn says he likes my earrings. Or Hazel will say, ‘You look pretty, Mama,’ first thing in the morning.

“And I realize, that’s all my husband,” Roberts goes on. “They’re seeing the things that he does and the way that he shares his feelings with me, and the way that I share my feelings with him. The coolest thing you can do for your children is to love each other in their presence.”

Being a mother of three kids, she added, “I will never be bored again.”

The night was billed as a salute to Tom Hanks, but it was Julia Roberts who stole the show.

“It’s late, and I’m paying my babysitter overtime, and I have to pee,” a harried Roberts announced at Monday’s 36th annual Film Society of Lincoln Center Gala Tribute, where the Philadelphia and Forrest Gump double Oscar winner was presented the new Chaplin Award. Keeping her tribute as brief as possible, Roberts told Hanks, “So, everybody f—ing likes you.”

Assessing his 2004 movie The Terminal, in which he played an Eastern European trapped in Immigration at J.F.K., Roberts said, “That movie about you and the airport and the accent was a pass for me. Airport? Were you just an immigrant lost? I didn’t know. I love you, but I didn’t know … and I’m wearing the same f—ing dress tonight as your publicist.”

For the record, it was a cream dress by Dolce & Gabbana.

Came his time at the podium, Hanks told the stellar crowd that Roberts has so much clout that the big story of the evening would be: “Julia Roberts wears same dress as publicist.” He also said the Erin Brockovich Oscar winner has “the biggest potty mouth you have ever heard.”

The Boss and Wife
For stargazers, the night was a dream come true, with many famous friends and colleagues roasting Hanks: The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons director Ron Howard, Castaway and Gump director Robert Zemeckis, Saving Private Ryan director Steven Spielberg, Charlie Wilson’s War director Mike Nichols, Gump costar (she played his mom) Sally Field, Charlize Theron (who has often said in interviews that Hanks was her first onscreen crush) – and Philadelphia Best Song Oscar winner Bruce Springsteen, who sang accompanied by his wife, Patti Scialfa, whom he bussed onstage.

Springsteen also quipped that he and Hanks had met in the men’s room of the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, where they apparently were “comparing the size of our Oscars.”

“If you measure them,” said Springsteen, “some are a little bigger. He has two.”

You can add Julia Roberts to the list of celebrities who’d like to have dinner with the Obamas.

“For sure, we’re going to start with the Obamas. The girls can play with my kids,” Roberts told Allure magazine of who her dream dinner party would include. (Diane Sawyer, Mike Nichols, Oprah Winfrey, Stedman Graham and Tina Fey also made the cut, FYI).

Roberts, who has her first leading role since 2001 in “Duplicity” is on the cover of the March issue of the magazine, and also talks about the obsession with children of Hollywood stars. “I think it should be against the law to take a picture of a celebrity’s child,” said Roberts, who did share the first photos of her twins Hazel and Phinnaeus with People magazine in Feb. 2005.

That said, paparazzi shots of her kids don’t frequently surface. “Fortunately, it’s a rare occurrence for us. My husband and I are very protective of our children,” Roberts told Allure. “We go out of our way to shelter them from the paparazzi and to still live a normal life.”
