There’s no trouble with Britney Spear’s phone connection!

Earlier this week, the pop star met her ex-husband Kevin Federline in court, where Britney was granted “expanded” visitation rights of their children. But their interaction hasn’t been limited to court appearances — Britney and Kevin are in regular contact. In fact, they’ve been having weekly steamy phone sex sessions.

Recently, when Britney was having a sleepless night, she decided to call Kevin at nearly 2 a.m. While they initially chatted about their boys — Preston, 2, and Jayden, 20 months — the conversation shifted. And as Britney hoped, Kevin knew exactly how to tire her out — with hours of erotic talk!

“They have phone sex often — at least once a week,” an insider tells Star. “The one thing those two have in common is their need for sex, and after they get going, there are no holds barred.”

Kevin Federline might play the part of the pauper to his pop princess ex-wife Britney Spears, but in Las Vegas he is king.

Federline spent over $43,000 on Las Vegas hotels, dining and shopping between May 2007 and January of this year, according to documents filed by Federline’s attorney in his custody battle with Spears. The documents were released by the Superior Court on Thursday.

The tabs included $1,445 for clothing at Gianni Versace, $3,863 at TAO nightclub, and $3,008 at the Hard Rock Beach Club.

He appears determined not to be branded a cheap tipper. At Scores strip club, he dropped a cool $2,000 on a $365 meal bill.

Meanwhile, his company, Gooseneck Productions, Inc., spent $841,129 in 2007 while earning $544,075, according to the documents.

The aspiring rapper also spent big on attempts to prop up his struggling music career.

Federline had $74,102 in “music production” expenses, but earned only $9,849 in “music income,” according to the documents, which did not elaborate.

The Superior Court commissioner dealing with the Federline-Spears custody battle has consistently awarded Federline attorneys fees.

In March, Spears’ divorce attorney, Stacy Phillips, argued that Federline’s attorneys were overbilling, and her client should not be required to pay.

Phillips said that Federline tipped extravagantly. Indeed, a credit card statement showed a $1,100 tip for a $2,782 bill at a Los Angeles restaurant.

Federline still owed $343,834 in fees to his attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, when the documents released Thursday were filed in January.

Spears pays her ex-husband $15,000 per month in child support for 2-year-old Sean Preston and 1-year-old Jayden James. Her monthly spousal support payments of $20,000 ended in November.

The accounting statement mixes personal expenses, like $1,500 per week for a nanny to care for the two toddlers, and business expenses, like $2,500 per month for his manager.

The bulk of Federline’s income came from his work on a Nationwide car insurance commercial that aired during the Super Bowl. Federline was paid $377,000 for playing a fry cook who dreams of being a rap star, wearing fur coats and flashing huge diamond rings.

He earned $15,000 for appearing at his 29th birthday party at Pure nightclub in Las Vegas, and $50,000 for a series of appearances at Las Vegas clubs in December 2007.

Federline also pays $18,228 per month in child support, rent and private school tuition for his two children from a previous relationship.

Kevin Federline’s lawyer says that with the help of father Jamie Spears, Britney Spears is heading in the right direction. But he urged restraint in saying the pop star is already fully recovered.

“Jamie is doing a really good job,” Mark Vincent Kaplan tells PEOPLE. “There was a situation and that seems to be stabilized. Does that mean she’s cured? Of course not.”

Kaplan has noticed that the Spears’s negative press has diminished noticeably, and that her successes – from her appearance on How I Met Your Mother to reports Tuesday that she is working again with former manager Larry Rudolph – are making news right now.

He calls Jamie Spears’s steps to improve Britney’s well-being and diffuse her once tumultuous lifestyle “smart,” adding that, “Obviously before Jamie, it wasn’t a question of what was going to happen – it was a question of when.”

A healthy, happy Spears is something that Federline has always yearned for, says Kaplan. As for his own professional interest in the Spears case, which is no longer dominating Los Angeles’s family court system? Says Kaplan: “I look forward to the time when I can be bored.”

Britney Spears and Kevin Federline have been at each others’ throats since she filed for divorce in 2006. But a surprising sudden meeting — and plans for a secret getaway together — have family and friends wondering if a rekindled romance is in the works!

“They saw each other on Easter,” a source close to the couple tells Star exclusively.

And that March 23 rendezvous went so well, insiders explain, that Brit and Kevin have agreed to take a trip far from the glare of Hollywood to work on their relationship.

“Kevin wants to take Britney away to see if there is anything to salvage between them,” a family friend tells Star. “When he suggested it to her, she told him she was ready to go anytime he was.”

Kevin Federline’s uncle passed away on Friday after a prolonged battle with cancer, a source confirms to Usmagazine.com.

Federline had recently visited Steve, his mother’s brother, who lived in Fresno, CA.

“The whole family is very sad but at least he is out of his pain now,” the source told Us.

It may seem like Kevin Federline is well into middle age but the serial baby daddy only just reached his 30s.

Dolled up in a dapper gray suit and powder blue button-down that hid his newly acquired paunch, K-Fed celebrated the big 3-0 with a bash at Vegas’ Pure nightclub. Britney Spears was a no-show but Kev’s other ex Shar Jackson (does she have no dignity?) was on hand all night long to help him mourn his twenties.

The Federline clan was joined by Jackson and a gaggle of her girlfriends for a birthday dinner at the swank Social House before heading to Pure, where they downed Jack Daniel’s and Patron shots in the white leather VIP booth. The Pussycat Dolls sang K-Fed a saucy rendition of “Happy Birthday” as Jackson snuggled close to her ex. “They looked like a couple again,” our spy said. By 2 a.m. the whole party decamped to late-night lounge Noir Bar inside Luxor.

Spawn Sean Preston and Jayden James were away with a sitter allowing their dear dad to party all night long.

Federline doesn’t come cheap. Sources say K-Fed was paid between $100,000 and $300,000 in appearance fees to have the party.

If you’re Pure nightclub, the answer is: a lot!

Multiple sources tell PageSix.com that former Mr. Britney Spears is being paid at least six figures to host his 30th birthday party at the Las Vegas hotspot on March 21. (Check out the invite, above!) One insider says he will make about $175,000.

“Kevin is a big spender, and a draw for the crowds. So the money he gets is nothing compared to the money they make,” the source tells PageSix.com.

The big payday is particularly interesting considering that earlier this week, Britney’s lawyer argued that the pop star shouldn’t have to pay for Kevin’s legal fees because he has more money than he claims.

The family insider tells us that Kevin is planning on spending a few days in Las Vegas, which might give his ex-wife a chance to spend some quality time with their kids.

“Kevin is hoping Britney will be able to have time with the boys for a few days while he is gone, but it all depends on how she is doing at the time,” says the insider. “Also, Kevin has to feel confident that Jamie [Spears] will make sure the boys are watched over at all times while she is with them.”

Even though he’s leaving sons Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden, 1, behind, the aspiring rapper won’t be lacking for company. Brother Chris Federline, who just celebrated his own birthday this week, will also be on hand for the party.

“Kevin loves Vegas and would like to make a party time out of it,” adds the source.

A source says Britney Spears’ ex, 30, may be heading to NYC in September to make his Broadway debut in Legally Blonde, the Tony-nominated musical adaptation of the hit film, Us Weekly reports in its latest issue, on newsstands now.

“He’s so excited!” a Federline source tells Us.

The former backup dancer and aspiring hip-hop artist — who is hitting the gym after packing on “daddy weight,” ex Shar Jackson says — will test his song-and-dance chops in a trio of roles — including the UPS guy who inspires the “bend and snap.”

“This is his chance to show the world what he can do,” says a pal.

And now that he has physical custody, sons Sean, 2, and Jayden, 18 months, might join him in the Big Apple.

“This is his dream and he wants to bring the kids,” says the insider. “Jamie and Lynne [Spears] promised to help him make it work.”

(A rep for the show says he is not scheduled “as of this time.”)

Federline may not be the only star hitting Broadway: New mom Nicole Richie has been approached to star in Chicago.

From the sound of it, it’s might be time for Kevin Federline to start paying his own bills. Part of Federline’s current arrangement with his ex-wife Britney Spears stipulates that his legal fees — which includes $500,000 he owes to his attorney Mark Vincent Kaplan — be paid by Spears.

Her attorney, Stacy Phillips, argues that Federline can contribute, and offered the example of Federline leaving a $2,000 tip on a recent $365 dining tab as evidence.

“Kevin is a good guy,” said a source who knows Federline, “and I don’t think he’s taken advantage of Britney, but he isn’t as squeaky clean as he’d have you believe. He still lives a pretty extravagant lifestyle for a guy who doesn’t make much money on his own.”

A judge will rule on the case, but in the meantime, Federline isn’t too worried. Said the source, “He knows he’s maintained a fairly good image throughout this, and at the end of the day, he isn’t under nearly the same microscope as Britney.”
