Kimora Lee Simmons (above) and Djimon Hounsou gave their baby boy the very fashionable name Kenzo Lee Hounsou, inspired no doubt by retired Japanese fashion icon Kenzo Takada. Kenzo, born here Saturday, weighed in at 8 pounds, and was 20 inches long. “He’s a little prince,” said a friend. This is Kimora’s third child — she has two daughters, Ming Lee and Aoki Lee, with her ex-husband, Russell Simmons.

Apparently not even going into labor can keep celebs from tweeting.

At least that seems to be the case with new mom and member of the E! fam, Kimora Lee Simmons. The Phat Fashions CEO took to her Twitter page late last night to let the world know that her baby was on the way.

Tweeted Simmons, “It’s time!! No turning back! At hospital in labor right now!!,” followed shortly after by, “Having contractions now! Ooo- wee! It’s like WHOA! Love & Light, KLS.”

She was even nice enough to send along a TwitPic from her hospital bed—looking nothing short of glamorous, of course.
Sixteen hours later, E! News can confirm that Simmons and her partner, Djimon Hounsou, are now proud parents. Says her rep, “Kimora and Djimon’s son was born Saturday morning, May 30th.”

The face of Baby Phat and the Oscar-nominated actor have been together since March 2007, following her split from Russell Simmons. The two Simmons’ share custody of their daughters, Ming Lee, 9, and Aoki Lee, 6. This is Hounsou’s first child.
Simmons and her gorgeous girls currently star on her hit reality show, Kimora: Life in the Fab Lane on E! sister station, The Style Network.

While she has yet to tweet her new son’s name, we’re sure that as soon as Simmons is well-rested and back to her fabulous self, we’ll receive the update—via TwitterBerry, of course.

It’s time to uncork the champagne. Kimora Lee Simmons and Djimon Hounsou are married!

But before you go rushing to congratulate the happy couple, perhaps you should ask them if their vows are legally binding.

According to a source close to the pair, Kimora and her man were married over the summer on a transcontinental trip to Hounsou’s native Benin, Africa ? but they couldn’t make it official in the U.S. because Kimora was still technically married to mogul Russell Simmons; that divorce was finalized on Jan 28, 2009.
Kimora’s faux African wedding was apparently as wild as her Baby Phat fashion shows. “Both Kimora and Djimon wore traditional dashikis,” says our insider. “She went whole hog with the African theme ? there were African drums, a traditional ceremony with dancers . . . they even had a hut!”

Present for the festivities were Kimora’s girls Aoki and Ming, as well as a nanny and photographer. “Aoki slept through the entire ceremony, and Ming cried. They were pretty confused as to what was going on,” says our source. As for Djimon, although he isn’t quite up to the level of daddy Russell, “They like him,” our source says simply.

Afterwards, the motley crew departed for the less rustic pastures of Paris. Under the guise of celebrating Aoki’s 6th birthday, the newly “married” couple enjoyed a romantic honeymoon.

These days, the fashion designer is careful about how she refers to Djimon, but to friends she is quick to call him “my husband.”

And it appears that Kimora, who is currently pregnant with Djimon’s child, can officially use the hubby epithet soon.

An eyewitness caught the “Push” actor perusing the ring counter at Martin Katz jewelers in Beverly Hills on Wednesday, before making a careful exit out the shop’s back door. “Djimon didn’t appear to have made a decision that day,” says our spy, “Other than the most important decision, of course. You know, the one where he puts a ring on Kimora’s finger and says ‘I do.’ ”

Reps for both Kimora and Djimon were not available for comment.

A guest tells us the event at Hiro was “so disorganized” that several people walked out because there were no seats. “It was a disaster,” said our spy. “When we complained, we were offered bottles of champagne to stay.” Another source said attendees were groping for freebies and stealing diamond-shaped Fabulosity perfume bottles. Simmons’ rep said, “There was no designated seating, there was a VIP area that was Kimora’s for executives. And no one paid for anything.”

Kimora Lee Simmons filed for divorce from her estranged husband, Russell Simmons, in Los Angeles County Superior Court Tuesday.

The couple announced that they had split up in March 2006, but said they had already been separated “for some time.”

In court papers, Kimora, 32, cites irreconcilable differences and asks for legal and physical custody of the couple’s two daughters, Ming, 8, and Aoki, 5. She requests that Simmons, 50, get “reasonable child visitation … to be accompanied at all times by the children’s nanny and security personnel.

At the time of their initial separation in 2006, Simmons said in a statement: “Kimora and I will remain committed parents and caring friends with great love and admiration for each other.”

Kimora has been dogged recently by rumors that she is expecting a child with boyfriend Djimon Hounsou. At an appearance in Chicago earlier this month, she told reporters. “I’m in the paper every single week – that I had a fight with my ex-husband, or that I was mad at one of his girlfriends, or that I’m pregnant, or that I demand Fiji water … Lies upon lies upon lies.”
