Kristen Cavallari has just started filming scenes as Lauren Conrad’s replacement on “The Hills,” and it appears the newcomer is already creating drama.

Cavallari, who first became known as the bad girl on 2004’s “Laguna Beach,” made a bad first impression when she recently tried to steal the spotlight at Audrina Patridge’s 24th birthday party at L.A.’s London West Hollywood hotel, Starmagazine.com reports.

“Kristin was always making sure to yell out one-liners and hog camera time,” says an eyewitness.

When Cavallari began flirting with Patridge’s on-and-off boyfriend, Justin “Bobby” Brescia, the birthday girl reportedly lost it.
“Kristin was fake giggling and making it look like she liked him,” says a source. “Audrina started yelling at Kristin about how desperate she is and was clapping and yelling, ‘Keep it up! You’re such a good actress!’”

Adds the source, “Obviously, it’s not material they can use on the show, but Audrina didn’t care. She wanted to finally tell Kristin what she thought of her.”

But Patridge is not the only cast member fuming at Cavallari.

Heidi and Spencer Pratt are also angry about the new addition to the reality show, claiming Cavallari is stealing their spotlight.
“They feel like they worked their butts off for the show, and now Kristin just walks on and becomes the new star,” says a source.

It looks as though there was no worry with Conrad leaving “The Hills”, but Kristin Cavallari’s addition might put an end to it all.

KRISTIN Cavallari annoys almost as many people in real life as she does on TV. The star of “The Hills” was hosting a fashion show at club Tantra in St. Maarten with Victoria’s Secret beauty Selita Ebanks when she decided to playfully toss some glitter at catwalking models, who didn’t appreciate the gesture. “After the show, four of the models had to be re strained from trying to start a fight with her while she was in the DJ booth with Robert Iler and DJ Ruckus,” says a spy. “One of them grabbed her by the hair before the fra cas got broken up.” Club security eventu ally escorted the miffed models out before anyone broke a nail.

Lauren Conrad’s “Laguna Beach” nemesis is heading for “The Hills.”

Now that Conrad has left the hit MTV reality series, Kristin Cavallari is taking her place.

MTV publicist Emily Yeomans confirms Cavallari will replace Conrad on the show. The season-five finale on May 31 marks Cavallari’s “Hills” debut.

The 22-year-old aspiring actress caught the bouquet at the April 25 wedding of the series’ duo, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt. The event was filmed by MTV.

Cavallari became a celebrity in 2004 when MTV tracked her high school love life and rivalry with Conrad on the reality show “Laguna Beach.”

THE night before the Giants beat the Patriots, Scottsdale was aflush with booze and babes. During the Maxim party at the Stone Rose Lounge, Kristin Cavallari was doing her best to try and get back in the weekly tabs by flirting with “Entourage” star Kevin Connolly. “She was all over Kevin until she saw Brody Jenner walk in,” our spy said. “She dumped Kevin for Brody and started kissing him before she went to find photographers to take pictures of them. It was all a ploy to make [her nemesis] Lauren Conrad jealous.”

Jenner and Conrad dated in the last season of “The Hills.” Connolly’s “Entourage” co-star Kevin Dillon had better luck with the ladies when he spotted a hot blonde at the Playboy party at the Pavilion across town. “He saw her with her friends and pulled them all into the VIP section before making out with the girl of his choice,” another spy laughed. At the DirectTV celebrity beach bowl party, things were a little tamer as David Spade — who just impregnated a former girlfriend he only dated for three months — stuck to throwing a football with Pete Wentz.

Sources tell me that Kristin Cavallari—you know, the OG Laguna Beach girl—might be coming back to the small screen again. (She had a guest spot on CBS’ Cane a couple of months ago, as I’m sure you know.)

My partner in crime Korbi tells me Miss Cavallari was spotted entering the NBC Universal building today for a casting meeting for Lipstick Jungle (the new dramedy starring Lindsay Price, Brooke Shields and Kim Raver). But wait, it gets better. According to inside sources close to The Hills, the show’s producers are looking into the possibility of bringing Kristin onto their series to reunite with Lauren.

Let me be the first to say: Hells. Yeah.

Not surprisingly, according to the same insiders, Lauren is less than thrilled with the idea of Kristin coming onto her show, possibly due to their previous love triangle with Stephen Colletti. But as we’ve seen from Heidi and Lauren this season, that sort of tension can also make for very good TV. (Sad, but true.)

As for whether Kristin would agree to hit The Hills, we shouldn’t forget that when Laguna Beach ended, she said she was leaving reality TV behind in order to focus on her acting career. But with The Hills’ newfound über-audience and über-presence in the media, I’m thinking this show may be well worth her time.
