“LOLLIPOP” rapper Lil’ Wayne played a Bahamas concert promoter for a sucker, court papers charge. Red City Entertainment claims in Manhattan Supreme Court that the hip-hop giant, whose real name is Dwayne Carter, was a no-show for a concert in Nassau last September. “When Carter did not arrive at the concert, the police went to his hotel room” and “found him passed out and unwilling to perform,” the suit says. “He appeared to be intoxicated,” said Red City lawyer Glenn Gitomer. The promoters had to cancel the 2 a.m. show and turn away 5,500 fans who paid $70 a pop. Reps for Lil’ Wayne couldn’t be reached.

Rapper Lil Wayne appeared in court for a pretrial update on the investigation into drug possession and weapons charges he faces in Yuma County, Ariz.

His attorney said he was in good spirits, even stopping to sign autographs for about a dozen fans after the hearing in Yuma.

Lil Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Carter, was arrested at a U.S. Border Patrol checkpoint on Interstate 8 east of Yuma in January 2008. Authorities said they found cocaine, Ecstasy and a handgun on his tour bus.

He was ordered by a judge to attend Tuesday’s pretrial hearing.

James Tilson, the rapper’s attorney, said he told the Yuma County Superior Court judge that the U.S. Border Patrol hasn’t turned over records the defense requested months ago.

Tilson said border officials told the Yuma County Attorney’s Office they do not plan to release the training record of the drug-sniffing dog used in the incident.

“If the dog is not reliable, then that puts the entire probable cause for the stop into question,” he said.

Tilson also plans to renew a request for any video recorded by border cameras the day the rapper was stopped.

The judge set another court date for Aug. 11.

Carter faces one count each of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of dangerous drugs and weapons misconduct. He previously pleaded not guilty to all charges.

In March, a judge in Atlanta dismissed drug charges stemming from a 2006 bust against the rapper. Carter, who won three Grammys for his album, “Tha Carter III,” was recently ranked as one of the top-earning concert tours.

Just because you’re on the VIP guest list doesn’t mean you’ll be always be given the royal rundown of Hollywood – a lesson Kim Kardashian and Avril Lavigne learned the hard way at the Cash Money Records Party for Lil Wayne on Saturday night.

New Beverly Hills hotel, The Montage, wasn’t quite equipped to handle the chaotic crowds and according to eyewitness, a riot pretty much broke out when the rapper arrived and head of security at the top-notch property called in the cops for fear of someone getting severely injured.

Those lucky enough to get inside had the pleasure of watching Paris Hilton dance to Lil Wayne and Kevin Rudolph’s performance well into the early hours and schmooze with the likes of Russell Simmons, Timbaland and TI. While Cash Money thought the soiree was a huge success, inside snitches told Tarts that the hotel was pretty peeved by the bad behavior that went on …

But staff members weren’t alone in their anger, we’re told Kim Kardashian was refused entry as the venue was at capacity and even waited around for quite a while before finally giving up in a huff. Avril Lavigne was also omitted, but instead was pretty cool about having to peace out without being able to party.

Olympic swimming hero MICHAEL PHELPS was stunned after meeting his favourite rapper LIL’ WAYNE – because the star had recorded a personal song for him.

After winning eight gold medals at the Beijing Games this summer, the athlete told the press he had listened to the hip-hop star’s track I’m Me to pump him up before the races.

And Phelps was overwhelmed when he met the rapper for the first time at the MTV Video Music Awards in September.

Phelps recalls, “Lil’ Wayne presented me with this iPod which contained 40 unreleased songs he had recorded – and one was called Michael Phelps.

“In that song he just keeps rapping ‘Michael Phelps, Michael Phelps, swimming through the water …’ I like all the songs he gave me but obviously that means the most.”

Last week, when Lil Wayne, 26, became a father for the second time to baby boy Dwayne Michael Carter III, at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, he wasn’t handing out cigars in the waiting room. He was right there in the delivery room.

“I delivered him. I held the left leg the whole time,” Wayne said Tuesday night at Power 105.1′s Powerhouse concert. “It was nasty, very nasty, but it was wonderful. Oct. 22, 9:25 a.m., 7 lbs., 12 oz. He’s the best thing to ever happen to me, next to my daughter.”

Lil Wayne’s first child, 8-year-old Reginae Carter, belongs to Wayne and his high school sweetheart Antonia “Toya” Johnson.

The identity of the newborn’s mother remains private.
