Maggie Gyllenhaal, her fiancé Peter Sarsgaard and their newborn baby Ramona won’t be evicted from their New York City apartment after a dispute with their landlords. The family faced eviction from the $5,000-a-month apartment in downtown Manhattan after two of the three owners of her building argued she didn’t have a valid lease.

The owners began eviction proceeding against the star in February, claiming her lease wasn’t valid because it had only been signed by the third owner of the apartment.

Gyllenhaal, 28, filed an affidavit reading, “I am residing in the subject premises pursuant to a lease duly executed by one of the owners of the subject premises.”

Manhattan Civil Court Judge Marc Finkelstein agreed, noting that “she has paid and continues to pay all the rent under that lease”.

The actress’s attorney, Lorraine Nadel, tells the New York Post, “Maggie should never have been dragged into this. The owners of the building should have fought it out themselves and left her out of it.”

Gyllenhaal moved into the apartment in 2005, and has the option to stay through the end of 2007, but the dispute has apparently convinced the couple it is time to move on. The pair has reportedly signed a contract to buy a townhouse in Brooklyn, New York.

Hollywood couple Maggie Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard are celebrating the birth of their first child two weeks early, according to reports. The New York Daily News claims the actress was rushed to the hospital yesterday, accompanied by her fiancé, and hints she may have gone into early labor.

Internet reports allege the pair became new parents at 8 p.m. local time the same evening at a New York City hospital. A source close to the couple reveals the daughter has been named Ramona. Gyllenhaal, 28, and Sarsgaard, 35, announced their engagement in April. They weren’t expecting their baby for another 14 days.

Secretary star Maggie Gyllenhaal is refusing to marry fiance Peter Sarsgaard before the birth of their baby, because she wants to wait and do it properly.

Although her parents were married when her mother was six months pregnant, Gyllenhaal isn’t in any hurry to rush down the aisle.

The 28-year-old says, “We don’t want to just go to City Hall.

“I’ve had many different incarnations of my fantasy wedding dress. I want the fairy tale!”
