MARIE OSMOND is begging brother DONNIE not to follow her dancing footsteps on hit U.S. show DANCING WITH THE STARS – because the experience could kill him.

The Puppy Love singer has been pressured to get dancing on the show ever since his sister was voted off – but Marie doesn’t want him to even consider it.

She explains, “I don’t want him to (do it). Donnie has a very bad neck; he almost was paralyzed.

“He was in Hawaii playing with his family, bodysurfing, and he snapped his vertebrae. He’s had several surgeries – and so, for him to do that (show), I think would be really stupid because it is hard.”

The new cast of Dancing with the Stars will be revealed tonight, but who can forget last season’s most-talked about names, especially one Marie Osmond?

The entertainer, who finished a surprising third on the program, joined fellow alum Cameron Mathison for an interview in which the soap star asked if she would participate in a Dancing All-Stars show?

“Only if you do it,” she says.

One person who won’t be doing any Dancing of any kind is her brother Donny, who was long-speculated to have made the DWTS shortlist for this season. “They are rumors,” Marie says.

Don’t expect Donny on Marie’s upcoming daytime talk show either. Although they have teamed up for two versions of Donny and Marie in the past three decades, Marie says she’ll be on her own for The Marie Osmond Show, launching in 2009.

“The problem is Donny’s not very articulate…If he were there, it’d be a different kind of talk show,” she laughs.

So can we expect Marie to dethrone Oprah Winfrey as the Queen of Talk?

“Absolutely not,” she says. “Oprah’s amazing. [She] brings perspective but our hearts are similar because she does all her charity.”

The 48-year-old, who lost 40 lbs during her Dancing days, also discussed growing up in show business — past and present.

“The difference is that our homes were more solid [back then] so we had a place to fall back on. So, that’s what’s concerning. These kids [current celebrities] don’t have that stability. They’re kind of raising each other.”

For more on Marie, tune in to Extra tonight!

MARIE OSMOND has created a series of new dancing dolls as a tribute to the time she spent on TV hit DANCING WITH THE STARS. The singer and doll collector finished in the finals of the reality TV contest earlier this week but came in third place. She’s a big winner in the business dance, however, after using the show to inspire a new collection of dolls, dressed in some of the outfits she wore on the dancefloor. The Paper Roses singer unveiled her new Boogie Woogie doll, Paso Doble doll and Quickstep doll on U.S. shopping channel QVC on Thursday night. The first two models in the collection – the Samba doll and the Foxtrot doll – have already sold out after fans of Osmond were given the chance to buy them before the star went public with her new business venture.

As the clock ticks down to the last dance-off on the Dancing with the Stars finale, Maksim Chmerkovskiy is stepping on the toes of competitor Marie Osmond, saying she may not be on par with the other remaining competitors in tonight’s high-stepping finale.

“Frankly, I think there were a lot of other people better than Marie,” Chmerkovskiy tells Extra, suggesting that the 48-year-old singer was carried into the finale due to public sympathy over the loss of her father and her 16-year-old son’s recent entry into rehab
.
“I know firsthand there are a lot of celebrities on the show that went through similar situations [family issues] this season and decided not to make it public,” Chmerkovskiy said.

Meanwhile, Osmond tells Extra her son Michael, who entered a rehabilitation facility in early November for an undisclosed treatment, will be in the audience for the finale, along with his seven siblings. “All my children will be there,” she confirmed.

With the competition in a possible three-way dead heat between Helio Castroneves and partner Julianne Hough and Osmond and her partner Jonathan Roberts, Chmerkovskiy says his partner Mel B’s sex appeal will also play a role in tonight’s two-part finale. “She’s going to be showing a lot of skin,” he revealed. “The most skin the show has ever seen.”

OSMOND siblings DONNY and MARIE are split about the way U.S. broadcaster LARRY KING went public with news Marie’s teenage son had checked into rehab on his CNN show. King blurted out the news during an Osmonds special on 14 November (07), leaving Marie struggling to fight back tears as her brother helped comfort her. The singer looked stunned when newsman King asked, “I know that (your son) Michael is in rehab, right?” She asked, “How do you know that?” Angry Donnie says, “It’s just unfortunate that Larry King had to throw that question at her the way he did. I didn’t appreciate it. “You saw in Marie’s face how shocked she was. It’s such a personal issue.” But his sister insists family pal King was trying to do her a favour: “He did it tastefully and with my brother around for support. “Larry had been tipped off that the tabloids were going to go with this and it ended up being a very kind gesture to my son.” Marie’s 16-year-old son Michael is seeking treatment for an undisclosed issue at an unnamed rehab.

Brave Marie Osmond has vowed to dance again, despite suffering the loss of her beloved father on Tuesday.

The singer was preparing for the live Dancing With The Stars results show and a family special on TV show Oprah on Friday when she heard the tragic news.

Joined by brother Donny in Los Angeles, Osmond cancelled her immediate schedule and flew home to Utah to meet up with her other siblings, leaving producers at Dancing With The Stars fearing she wouldn’t return to the show.

But Marie, who dedicated her Monday night dance to her dad George and late mum Olive, insists she will be back to challenge the likes of Spice Girls star Melanie Brown and actress Jennie Garth for the dancing crown.

Show publicist Aime Wolfe has confirmed Osmond plans to return to the show next week.

The Osmonds family special will also go ahead on Friday, according to Winfrey’s publicist Don Halcombe.

“Dancing with the Stars” contestant, performer MARIE OSMOND, collapsed on live TV during the show’s broadcast Monday night after dancing the samba.

The show immediately cut to commercial and host TOM BERGERON announced after the break that Marie was doing fine and had just fainted. He noted that the first thing she said when she woke up was, “Oh crap.” After coming to, she soldiered on and waited patiently for her scores backstage with partner JONATHAN ROBERTS before being seen by a medic. Roberts later said that Osmond was out cold for about 30 seconds; he also noted that she was breathing hard and that he could feel that something was wrong before she fainted.

After the commercial break, Osmond was backstage with Roberts and said, “Once in a while that happens to me when I get winded. … You don’t plan those things. I’m so sorry!” She went on to joke, “I am Sleeping Beauty, sleeping on the job!”
