We have all heard about Martellus Bennett’s infamous YouTube videos, but what you may not know about Marty B. are all the really GOOD things that he does for the community. In today’s society the press jumps on reporting the negative and they completely miss reporting all of the positive. I would like to take some time to tell you about some of the positive things that Marty does and give you a better understanding of who Marty B. really is – so before you jump on the bandwagon and form any type of negative opinion of Marty B. you really need to understand that the YouTube videos are just a very small piece to a much bigger picture.
Marty B. has his own charity, the Martellus Bennett Truly Blessed Foundation. One of Marty’s greatest joys as a member of the Dallas Cowboys is giving back to the community and donating time and financial assistance to organizations that support underprivileged children. Marty created the Martellus Bennett Truly Blessed Foundation to enhance the recreational opportunities for disadvantaged youth. It has been Marty’s goal to make a difference with our youth by establishing a foundation that is 100% devoted to youth development and instilling values such as team work, integrity and academic excellence to improve their quality of life. Together with the support of his generous donors Truly Blessed makes it possible for disadvantaged youth to develop a better way of life and encourages them to dream and reach for a more positive future.
In addition to his own foundation Marty B. also volunteers for numerous other charities of his fellow Dallas Cowboys as well as other local charities that benefit underprivileged children in our community.

Marty B. is multi-talented. You may not know that he played both basketball and football for Texas A & M. After his senior year at A&M he decided to declare himself for the for the 2005 NBA Draft, though did not hire an agent, intending to go to college if he did not get selected in the first round. NBA scouts informed him that it was unlikely he would, causing him to withdraw from the draft a few days prior. As a result, he decided to enroll in classes in the second summer session at Texas A&M. Marty’s basketball skills are actually still good enough today to play in the NBA.
Marty B. has a very sensitive side that most people never see when it comes to caring about his friends. Marty B. is friends with former Buffalo Bills tight end Kevin Everett. After Everett’s career-ending neck injury in 2007, Bennett chose to honor Everett by wearing his jersey number [85] for two games during his 2007 junior season at Texas A&M.
Marty has become very well known for his sense of humor, thus the YouTube video controversies; I just want everyone to know that there is a lot more of him that you are missing out on. So again, before you hop on the bandwagon that the media has created surrounding 2 YouTube videos, you need to stop and take a look at the entire person. I really don’t think that you would support the media’s negativity if you knew the Martellus Bennett that I know.
