Mary-Louise Parker has broken off her engagement to fellow “Weeds” actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Parker, who plays an upscale suburban marijuana dealer on the Showtime comedy, ended the relationship with her actor fiance, according to a person close to the former couple.
The person, who requested anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the relationship, said the couple had differing lifestyles, but that Parker holds Morgan in the highest regard and hopes they remain friends.
Morgan, best known for his recurring role as Denny on “Grey’s Anatomy” and the deceased husband of Parker’s character on “Weeds,” began dating Parker in 2006. The pair briefly split last June but later reconciled. Parker, 43, and Morgan, 41, announced their engagement earlier this year.
Representatives for Parker said they do not comment publicly on the personal lives of clients.
In 2003, a tabloid frenzy ignited when actor Billy Crudup left Parker while she was seven months pregnant with their son, then began dating Claire Danes. Parker and Crudup had been together since 1996.
Parker has previously been romantically linked to Counting Crows lead singer Adam Duritz and actor Timothy Hutton.
The fourth season of “Weeds” premieres June 16.

Congrats to Mary-Louise Parker and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. We can reveal they just got engaged.
Let’s hope that finally shuts up those who kept insisting they’d never last.
Morgan’s proposal also constitutes something of a last laugh for Parker, who was jettisoned by ”Big Fish” star Billy Crudup for Claire Danes when Parker was seven months pregnant with his son, Atticus.
The unsinkable Parker found love again with Morgan on the set of “Weeds.” Crudup and Danes ended up splitting.
Mary-Louise Parker, who won an Emmy for her role in “Angels in America,” and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who won hearts as Denny Duquette on “Grey’s Anatomy,” called it quits June of last year after a brief romance.
“We’re not together anymore,” Morgan told People magazine at the movie premiere of Kabluey at the L.A. Film Festival in Westwood.
“Everything’s fine, but it just didn’t work out. Wrong time in both our lives.”
But the couple, who play husband and wife on the hit show “Weeds,” have recently rekindled their love and announced their engagement to friends. The two had showed up at the “P.S. I Love You” premiere in December 2007 holding hands.
From 1996 to November 2003, Crudup dated Parker, who delivered their boy, William Atticus Parker, on Jan. 7 2004 at New York’s St. Vincent’s Hospital. She named him William after his father.

She and Pitt star together in “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.”

Moynahan and Parker Unite

Bridget Moynahan – three months pregnant with her ex-boyfriend Tom Brady’s baby – has the support of another woman who was dumped while she was expecting, Mary-Louise Parker. Moynahan and Parker grabbed breakfast yesterday at City Bakery and were “deep in conversation,” a spy said. Brady ditched Moynahan in December – right around the time he found out she was pregnant – and immediately started dating Gisele Bundchen. Parker was dumped by Billy Crudup two years ago when she was eight months pregnant. Crudup immediately took up with Claire Danes.
