Actress Melissa Joan Hart has second thoughts about her decision to give birth to son Braydon naturally.
“I told my mom and my husband, don’t let me have [the drugs],” she told Usmagazine.com at the Celebration of Babies to benefit March of Dimes in L.A. Saturday.
“I kinda regret that one,” she revealed.
“But the thing is, the healing was so much faster,” the 32-year-old explained. “I didn’t have to get the drugs out of my system and was moving around a lot more.”
Hart, who had “a lot of medical intervention” during her first delivery, told Us that having a natural childbirth motivated her.
“I labored at home for 9 hours and then went to the hospital for an hour and a half – two pushes and he was out,” she said.
“When your feeling all that, you want to get that out as soon as possible, so you really work,” she added. “You’re like, ‘I’m gonna push really hard but I’m only doing it once.’”
Braydon, born in March, is now 6-months-old. Hart and husband Mark Wilkerson also have a 3-year-old, Mason.
“They’re just starting to relate to each other a lot,” Hart told Us. “[Braydon] loves to laugh at his big brother and his brother loves to make him laugh.”
So how did Hart lose her pregnancy pounds?
“Four weeks [after], I started feeling really good so I started going to the gym and started working out, went about three times a week,” she told Us. “I got delivery food for a little while.
“What I did was make sure no Sprinkles cupcakes [were] in the house, no candy,” she said. “I got used to the no sugar so I was like ok, ‘no starches.’ I slowly started to get myself back on track and get my will power built up.”
