Michelle Williams attended a private ceremony Saturday in Los Angeles to honor her ex Heath Ledger, a source tells Usmagazine.com.

The ceremony was held at the Sony Studios.

In addition to his family, Josh Hartnett and Ledger’s other ex, Naomi Watts, as well as other industry figures and people connected to CAA (the agency that represented Ledger), attended.

Musician Ben Harper performed. (Ledger had directed Harper’s video, “Morning Yearning.”)

Australian paper Perth Now is reporting that Ledger’s grieving family, including father Kim, mother Sally and elder sister Kate, left L.A. for Australia on Sunday night.

Funeral arrangements remain unknown.

On Friday, Williams released a statement on Ledger’s passing. She said, “My heart is broken.”

About the passing of her daughter’s father, Heath Ledger, Michelle Williams issued the following statmement:

“Please respect our need to grieve privately. My heart is broken. I am the mother of the most tender-hearted, high-spirited, beautiful little girl who is the spitting image of her father. All that I can cling to is his presence inside her that reveals itself every day. His family and I watch Matilda as she whispers to trees, hugs animals, and takes steps two at a time, and we know that he is with us still. She will be brought up in the best memories of him.”

HEATH Ledger had become a regular user of cocaine and heroin in the past year, getting so high on drugs that an exasperated Michelle Williams was forced to boot him out of their Brooklyn home, The Post has learned.

“She couldn’t take it any more. Heath wouldn’t show up for two to three days, and all of a sudden he would show up on her doorstep, an absolute wreck,” a member of Ledger’s entourage who did drugs with him told The Post’s Lorena Mongelli. “He was partying, doing drugs. She didn’t like the company he was keeping. She gave him an ultimatum. . . . and threatened to get custody of the girl. He wanted to make it work, but it was this scene he was wrapped up in. Was he an addict? Yeah.”

The revelation comes as “Entertainment Tonight” and “The Insider” said that “out of respect for Heath Ledger’s family,” they would drop plans to air a video of Ledger snorting cocaine with a rolled-up bill at the Chateau Marmont. The video was taped without Ledger’s knowledge following the SAG Awards two years ago. PageSix.com reports that Ledger quips on the tape, “I’m gonna get so much [bleep] from my girlfriend. We have a baby together, Matilda.”

Heath’s drug pal told The Post the 28-year-old star’s mushrooming fame had him constantly exposed to drugs. As the pressures of work grew, he couldn’t say no, and then wouldn’t get help. “He was hanging out with a bad crowd. He wasn’t cleaning up his act. He was making absolutely no effort . . . He was really into heroin. He wasn’t sleeping or communicating with anyone.”

Ledger’s lifeless body was found in his Broome Street loft in SoHo last week along with six kinds of prescription pills. Authorities believe he overdosed, although the cause of death won’t be official until toxicology tests are finished.

“At the end of the day this is really tragic,” the source said. “He was a nice guy. I first met him in 2002. He was scared about the whole Hollywood thing . . . I don’t think he realized how crazy it was going to be. So many people wanted a piece of him.”

But, the pal adds, things got really bad when heroin entered the picture. “Once you go down that road, then it gets really scary. Because all of sudden you shoot up, you take heroin, then you do a line of cocaine and then you take sleeping pills. Look at River Phoenix, he died exactly the same way.”

Filming of Michelle Williams’s next movie, Blue Valentine, has been put on hold while the actress copes with the death of Heath Ledger, a source tells PEOPLE.

“We will hold off until she is ready,” says a source connected with the film. “The production is in the process of sorting it out in respect to her.”

The movie – a relationship drama centered around a young couple struggling with their marriage – also stars Ryan Gosling, who Williams was rumored to be dating after they were spotted strolling together in New York before the holidays.

Production on the film was set to start on February 25, but has been moved back to an indefinite date.

“We’re hoping she will still come back and do the film and are happy to wait,” the source says. “The film is tailor made for those two so of course we would want to wait. You can’t get much better than them.”

Williams had just finished shooting her last scene in the film “Mammuth” in Sweden when she received the news of Ledger’s death.

Michelle Williams arrived in Brooklyn last night, the day after her ex Heath Ledger was found dead in a Manhattan apartment. Williams was carrying their two-year-old daughter Matilda.

Williams was shooting her latest movie, Mammoth, in Sweden when news of Ledger’s death was reported Tuesday afternoon.

The couple met while working on Brokeback Mountain and split in September after three years together.

Matilda’s godmother, Williams’ former Dawson’s Creek costar Busy Philipps, was spotted at the house, as was Williams’ mother, earlier in the day.

Michelle Williams arrived at Landvetter Airport in Gothenburg, Sweden on Wednesday with daughter Matilda, 2. The actress, who was on location in Sweden filming the movie Mammoth, was expected to return to her Brooklyn, N.Y., home after learning of Heath Ledger’s death Tuesday in New York.

A source close to Williams told PEOPLE the actress was “devastated” upon hearing the news. She and Ledger split in September, but they both agreed that parenting their daughter came first. “I can’t believe Matilda is going to grow up without a dad, without knowing her father,” another source told PEOPLE. “And that Michelle will have to deal with having a daughter who’s lost her father. She’s a survivor. She’ll make it, but it’s going to be hard. Her first concern is going to be Matilda.”

Michelle Williams’ mom — grandmother to Heath’s daughter, Matilda — arrived in New York this morning.

Carla Williams (above right) was distraught as she arrived at the Brooklyn home formerly shared by Heath and Michelle, located at 126 Hoyt Street.

Michelle has been in Sweden working on the film Mammoth, also starring Gael García Bernal, but is expected back in the States today.

Michelle Williams was on location in Sweden, believed to be with 2-year-old daughter Matilda, when she got the news: Heath Ledger was found dead in New York at age 28.

“She’s devastated,” says a source close to the 27-year-old actress.

Although their three-year relationship didn’t last, Williams and Ledger could always agree that their daughter comes first.

“He was absolutely in love with his daughter,” says another source. “And he really liked what he did [acting]. He spoiled [Matilda] rotten. He was playful and very funny with her.”

The source adds: “I can’t believe Matilda is going to grow up without a dad, without knowing her father. And that Michelle will have to deal with having a daughter who’s lost her father. She’s a survivor. She’ll make it, but it’s going to be hard. Her first concern is going to be Matilda.”

RYAN Gosling was photographed last week with “Heroes” cutie Hayden Panettiere. But Tuesday night, he only had eyes for Heath Ledger’s ex, Michelle Williams. The two had dinner at Piadina and were caught by onlookers having a cozy cigarette outside the West 10th Street eatery. The star of “Lars and the Real Girl” was “smiling and gazing at her,” said our witness. Reps for both said they weren’t on a date, but just discussing an upcoming film project they’re working on together. We’ll see.
