The mother of singers NICK and AARON CARTER has been arrested in Florida, after skipping a divorce hearing.

A warrant was issued for Jane Carter’s arrest after she missed the court appointment, scheduled to settle her split from ex-husband John Holcomb.

According to TMZ.com Carter was due to face the allegation she trashed the house the former couple once shared.

She was arrested by cops in Sumter County, Florida, where she was working at a cemetery, early on Thursday

Backstreet Boy Nick Carter can calm down now…his mom “didn’t” dump his dog at the animal shelter. Right. Well, she claims the whole ‘Nick’s mom dumped his dog Layla at a shelter’ story is “baloney”!

As we all know, Nick’s relationship with his mother, Jane, was already on fragile ground, but after Nick asked her to baby-sit for his pit bull mix Layla, and she took him to a North Tampa animal shelter, without Nick’s knowledge, we can only assume she’s in the doghouse!

Apparently, Nick had asked his mother to baby-sit Layla, while we got ready for his upcoming reunion tour with the Backstreet Boys. Nick was even paying her for the dog’s upkeep, but Jane apparently had no interest in taking care of the dog.

Ranelle Black, who originally rescued Layla from an L.A. County animal shelter and let Nick adopt the pup in March 2006, said she received a call from the Florida shelter on Monday, after volunteers identified Layla through her microchip implant. Black, who volunteers with L.A. Animal Services and regularly fosters pit bulls
“I called Nick and he had no idea that his mother had dumped Layla. He was very choked up,” said Black. She added that Nick had spent more than $7,000 to train the pup!

Nick’s publicist, Juliette Harris said, “Nick is devastated and frustrated, and is doing everything he can to get Layla safely back.”

Well, Mommy says she didn’t drop Layla at the pound, though her excuse is far from believable! Our friends at TMZ scoop: Jane Carter called the MJ Morning Show to slam our story from Wednesday as “baloney,” claiming that she gave Layla, a pit bull mix, to a “friend of her husband” to keep at his kennel. Then, she says, the dog escaped from the kennel, though this kennel-owner “friend” apparently didn’t notice the dog was gone until animal services picked it up and took it to the shelter in Hernando County.

Mama Carter also made some excuse about not having a phone and the dog not being well trained, even though we’re told that Nick spent $7,000 to train Layla.

Nick Carter has slammed ex-girlfriend Paris Hilton for being reliant on marijuana, and he insists she even resorted to stuffing her teddy bear with the drug when she traveled abroad. Earlier this month, the socialite furiously denied being in possession of cannabis after British newspapers printed images of the socialite inadvertently displaying an incriminating sachet inside her bag. Her publicist maintained the bag merely contained tobacco.

Carter says, “She relied heavily on drugs and drink to give her confidence in the bedroom and was more often than not too wasted to even perform. I lost count of the nights I had to pick her off the floor and drag her to bed passed out.

“If she was going overseas she’d cut a hole in her teddy and stuff it with cannabis. She had to have her own private stash with her at all times regardless of the consequences.”

Back Street Boy Nick Carter has apologised to pop star Ashlee Simpson for going public with the claim he slept with her while he was still dating Paris Hilton.

Carter called Ryan Seacrest’s Los Angeles radio show on Thursday morning to declare he was sorry the information was accidentally made public by his brother Aaron.

Nick says he “hooked-up” with Simpson as an act of revenge against ex-girlfriend Hilton after he was told she cheated on him with Chad Michael Murray, while the two were filming horror movie House Of Wax in Australia.

During the interview, Nick apologised to Simpson saying that he never meant “to throw her under the bus in the whole entire situation”.

After repeated apologies, he then told Seacrest that “this was one of those things that I wanted to keep under wraps… and then my brother kind of let the cat out of the bag”.

Carter claims he still has fond feelings for Simpson, but that it’s another story when it comes to Hilton.

Pop star Nick Carter cheated on former girlfriend Paris Hilton with her rival Ashlee Simpson, after hearing rumours the socialite had been sleeping with her House Of Wax co-star Chad Michael Murray.

The Backstreet Boy and Hilton dated for eight months before splitting in July 2004 – the same month Murray announced his engagement to his One Tree Hill co-star Sophia Bush after proposing in between filming scenes of the horror movie in Australia.

Carter admits he was unfaithful to Hilton – but only after he was told by mutual friends of the couple that the hotel heiress was seeing other men behind his back.

He tells gossip site PageSix.com, “I’d fallen head over heels with this chick. Then, all of a sudden, three months go by and I got people telling me, ‘Nick, you know what Paris is doing to you,’ and I got a little upset.

“So then I just decided to fight back a little bit and started doing my own thing again. The result is I hooked up with Ashlee Simpson. When Paris came back from Australia, they talked to each other and she found out about it.

“So I brought it up to her and said, ‘You know what I did, and now it’s your turn. Why don’t you tell me what you did.’ And she goes, ‘I never did anything! I never cheated on you.’ “I had kind of started to really like Ashlee and I was thinking about the dating stage, then, before you know it fucking bitch-face comes back.

NICK Carter says he decided to fight fire with fire when he learned that Paris Hilton was rampantly cheating on him with Sophia Bush’s fiancé, Chad Michael Murray – so he waited until she jetted off to Australia and then jumped into bed with Ashlee Simpson.

The former Backstreet Boy revealed his revenge tactic when he and his kid brother Aaron visited Page Six yesterday to promote their E! show, “House of Carters,” on their way to an Us Weekly luncheon

Meanwhile, Aaron, 19, who has a new album due in February, says his own shotgun engagement last year to Playboy Playmate Kari Ann Peniche, who’d previously dated Nick, failed because he just wasn’t ready to settle down. “It was just a big mess. She was pretty upset, but I just realized I made a mistake,” he said.

And it wasn’t a cheap mistake. While he never got her an engagement ring, “I bought her earrings for $10,000,” Aaron confided. “And I need to get ‘em, back. I need to get ‘em back!” Good luck with that.
