It wasn’t easy serving court papers on evasive blogger Mario Lavandeira (a k a Perez Hilton) – but Liz Silver, who runs the Web site PerezRevenge.com, finally succeeded Friday night. Silver, who accuses Lavandeira of plagiarism, says she tried and failed to serve him with a copyright infringement complaint “nine times at every one of his addresses” in Los Angeles. Finally, she enlisted her friend Margie Rogers to crash Lavandeira’s Halloween party at Espace Friday night. Silver told us, “at 12:30 a.m., Perez showed up to the party dressed as a matador, and Margie put the papers right on his chest. He gave her a mean, angry face but she just said, ‘You’ve been served,’ and left.” Lavandeira should know this trick well – he bragged on his site a few months ago about hunting Samantha Ronson down at a deejaying gig in LA to serve her with documents. He did not return our e-mails.

These days it is isn’t just McCain and Obama pulling out the punches…Lindsay Lohan’s father has oh-so generously offered to box another celebrity (because he is one?) for charity and he is making it clear that Perez Hilton (celebrity blogger) is who he wants to see in the ring.

New York Daily News reported today:

http://www.nydailynews.com/gossip/2008/10/06/2008-10-06_lindsay_lohans_dad_offers_to_box_with_hi.html

LOHAN: “”If there’s one person on this planet that I’d like to fight, it’s [celebrity blogger] Perez Hilton – for every single jab he’s taken at my children and my family.”

PEREZ: “I may take jabs at him and his messed-up family, but they’re baby taps compared to the blows he’s thrown at his own ex-wife and his daughter’s girlfriend. Maybe if he quit being such a desperate media whore, he might one day be able to have a relationship with his children again.”

AMERICANS WEIGH IN: But whether Perez is up for the challenge or not, America wants to see the two battle it out.

Predicto, (www.predicto.com) the leading entertainment and pop culture web site that provides live feeds and information for people and the media to discover what the country really thinks about current issues, has asked its audience to weigh in on the hot topic of whether or not Perez Hilton should take Lohan out once and for all. With more than 1.8 million visitors/month, the company challenges Americans to predict what they feel is the inevitable future from politics to entertainment, pop culture and financial fiascos.

*Nearly 60 percent of Americans who weighed in believe Perez should duke it out with “the media whore” Michael Lohan: 2,372 said he would and should take it to him, 1,855 said it won’t happen.

Perez Hilton received nearly $87,000 Friday from Lindsay Lohan gal pal Samantha Ronson to pay his attorneys’ fees for a defamation case she filed and lost against the celebrity blogger.

By turning over a cashier’s check for $86,832, Ronson avoids a hearing that was scheduled Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court, in which the club deejay would have had to answer questions about her ability to pay for Hilton’s award.

Judge Elihu M. Berle had ruled in January that Hilton was entitled to the money, but Ronson had not paid it, so the blogger filed papers for a judgment debtor examination hearing, said Hilton’s lawyer, Bryan J. Freedman.

“For fear of having to appear in court, she paid off the judgment,” Freedman said.

Ronson’s lawyer, David M. Bass, was not immediately available for comment. But during the January hearing, he maintained Hilton was entitled to no more than $13,400, arguing that the fees his lawyers claimed to have incurred were unreasonable.

Ronson filed suit against Hilton — whose real name is Mario Lavandeira – -and Sunset Photo and News Agency boss Jill Ishkanian in July 2007, alleging she was defamed when they reported that she might have owned cocaine found in Lohan’s car after a May 26, 2007, crash.

Sunset Photo operates CelebrityBabylon.com, which published an account about the auto accident in Beverly Hills, in which Lohan’s Mercedes-Benz crashed into a tree.

Hilton repeated the CelebrityBabylon.com account on his Web site, PerezHilton.com, in a June 1, 2007, posting that also stated Ronson had been “toxic” to Lohan and that Hilton wore a sweatshirt stating “Blame Samantha,” according to Ronson’s court papers.

Although Ronson acknowledged being with Lohan when her car crashed, she alleged the CelebrityBabylon.com and PerezHilton.com postings defamed her by stating she planted drugs in the starlet’s car and set her up by tipping off press photographers hoping to shoot the actress while intoxicated in exchange for money.

Last Nov. 1, Berle granted a motion by Hilton’s lawyers to throw out the portion of the lawsuit involving Hilton on grounds it was frivolous and represented an infringement on his exercise of free speech.

Berle concluded that Ronson was at minimum a public figure for limited purposes, that a Web site is a public forum, and that the subject of celebrities using drugs is an item of public interest.

Ronson voluntarily injected herself into the public eye by not only appearing in public with Lohan, but in other ways that included spinning records at Jessica Simpson’s birthday party, Berle ruled.

An attorney for Ishkanian and Sunset Photo told Berle last October that her clients settled with Ronson, a sometimes hip hop singer who performed several songs in the Lohan movie “Mean Girls.”

In August 2007, Lohan reached a plea bargain concerning the May 26 traffic accident and another crash in July of that year in Santa Monica, in which police also said they found a small amount of cocaine. The 22-year-old actress was sentenced to a day in jail and ordered to complete a drug program.

Hilton also won another court victory Friday when a federal judge in Ohio entered a judgment dismissing a defamation suit by a woman who alleged he got her fired by posting her personal information on the Web.

Diane Wargo of Streetsboro, Ohio, had sent Hilton an email criticizing him and actress Angelina Jolie. After Hilton posted her name and email work address on his site, she received hostile emails in return from his fans, her suit alleged.

U.S. District Court Judge Lesley Wills dismissed the case, saying it should not have been filed in Ohio because the alleged act generating the suit took place outside the state.

Over the last few years, he has become one of the most recognisable faces in Hollywood and he’s already a household name in the UK.

Gossip king Perez Hilton has steadily built up so many contacts in the celebrity world that he is now as famous as those he writes about on his hugely popular website.

But you would be forgiven for not recognising the 30-year-old as he has undergone an astonishing transformation over the last 12 months.

Perez has shed his formerly fuller figure in favour of a lean physique, which he hopes will soon resemble David Beckham’s.

He told MailOnline: ‘I’m not weighing myself, so I don’t know how much I’ve lost. But I know my clothes fit a lot better.

‘I’ve gone from a 46-inch waist to a 36-inch waist.

‘My goal is not be skinny. I wanna be in good shape. I’d love David Beckham’s body.’

Perez has revealed the secret that lies behind his dieting success – a lucky number.

He said: ‘The only number that’s important to me is five – and that’s making sure that I work out five days a week. And I do. I’m very committed and it’s all about consistency.

‘It’s been a months-long process, which began back in January. The first step was just eating healthy.

‘In February, I started walking at least 30 minutes a day, five days a week. And in March is when I began working out at the gym with trainers.

‘I have two trainers. They alternate weeks – I like the variety. We do a lot of cross training, weights, cardio, core work.

‘I’m getting my meals delivered, six days a week. Thankfully, I have a cheat day!

‘But, I honestly don’t feel like I’m being deprived. The healthy food is yummy.

‘Clichéd as it may sound, this is a change I’ve made for life. I’m excited to be healthy and fit.’

It’s certainly been a long journey. Four years ago there was no Perez, just Mario Lavandeira, a magazine writer with a passion for fashion and celebrity news.

Then he started a blog about celebrities under the name of Perez Hilton.

Back to the present, and Perez is preparing to travel to Liverpool in November, where he’ll be the ‘Digital Host’ at the MTV Europe Video Music Awards – although he also has an ulterior motive.

He said: ‘Maybe if I work out hard enough, I can find myself a cute English boyfriend soon.

‘I’ve never been to Liverpool before. I can’t wait!’

Does John Mayer swing both ways?

Yes, says celeb blogger Perez Hilton, who hit the airwaves Thursday morning to detail an alleged recent make-out he had with the singer (one of Us’ Cads of the Year).

“He is definitely bi,” Hilton declared on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show, adding that Mayer is “struggling with his sexuality.”

Of their liplock at NYC club Stereo last year, Hilton said, “He kissed me, and I kissed him back. It was on the mouth with tongue.

“I thought he was messing with me,” Hilton went on. “Then he kept going and going.”

Hilton claims Jessica Simpson — Mayer’s girlfriend at the time — didn’t mind.

“While John Mayer and I are making out, she is rubbing his crotch,” Hilton recalled.

Mayer’s rep tells Usmagazine.com, “This is all so ridiculous.” Simpson’s rep had no comment.

Hilton insisted, “It’s 100% true.”

Celeb blogger Perez Hilton came face-to-face with his longtime foe, stylist Rachel Zoe, last night at Hollywood hot spot Hyde.

And surprise — no cat claws came out!

“[Nicole Richie's former stylist] Rachel Zoe and I did chat,” Hilton (who often refers to Zoe as “Raisinface” on his Web site) tells Usmagazine.com. “It was very civil.”

“Raisinface insists that her new look is just the result of taking better care of her skin, seeing a great dermatologist and not laying out as much in the sun,” he says, adding sarcastically, “Uh huh!”

Don’t expect their cordial run-in to stop Hilton – who rejoiced after being named one of Us’ Worst Dressed of the Year – from ripping on her in the future.

“No matter how smooth her skin gets in real life, she’ll always be Raisinface on my Web site, and I will continue to skewer her!” he says. “Marc Jacobs and I are dear friends, but do not expect the same with Rachel Zoe. I’ll just laugh and observe [her] from afar.”
