Makeup and fashion gurus sue Queen Latifah

A makeup artist and a fashion stylist claim in coordinated lawsuits that they got ugly treatment from Queen Latifah when she cheated them out of $1 million.
Celebrity cosmetology consultant Roxanna Floyd says she lost $700,000 when the rapper-actress failed to pay her for work she did between July 2005 and February 2008.
In a separate lawsuit, celebrity fashion stylist Susan Moses said she was cheated of $300,000 during the same period.
The lawsuits were filed Monday in federal court in Manhattan.
Amanda Silverman, a spokeswoman for the actress whose roles in movies include “Hairspray” and “Mad Money,” says the lawsuits have no merit, but she can’t comment more on pending litigation.

Get it straight: Queen Latifah is not answering your questions about her sexuality.
“I don’t have a problem discussing the topic of somebody being gay, but I do have a problem discussing my personal life,” Latifah, 38, told Sunday’s New York Times magazine.
“You don’t get that part of me. Sorry,” she added. “We’re not discussing it in our meetings, we’re not discussing it at Cover Girl…nobody gets that.
“I don’t feel like I need to share my personal life, and I don’t care if people think I’m gay or not,” she said. “Assume whatever you want. You do it anyway.”
Latifah had been linked to her longtime personal trainer. Last December, she denied rumors that they were getting married.
“People will make up all sorts of things that are not true,” she told the Chicago Sun-Times. “There ain’t gonna’ be no wedding.”

Queen Latifah “Would Love to Have Children”

Is the Queen ready to be a mom?
Sure sounds like it!
Though she doesn’t have any immediate plans yet, Queen Latifah tells OK! she would definitely like children one day “for sure.”
“Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah!” she tells OK! at the League National Awards and Recognition Luncheon. “There’s the intention. I don’t know when, but it’s going to happen. It’s going to have to happen eventually. I’m not sure when, but I would love to have children for sure.”
For the time being, though, the rapper-turned-actress is busy working with children in the League, a new youth-service organization based in her hometown of Newark, N.J.
“We come back and contribute to the community,” she says of the organization. “We try and put a different face on a city we know is not just about The Sopranos, toxic smells and all this stuff that people try and make Jersey about. When I knew this was coming up, [and was] asked if I would be involved, I said, ‘Sure, no problem, let’s do it.’”
The League also gives the 38-year-old the opportunity to work in her hometown and hang out with her family and old friends. It is that “good support system” that has helped her withstand Hollywood’s pressure to be thin. Queen, who has lost 20 lbs on Jenny Craig, says she refuses to be someone she’s not.
“I think I’m the best Queen Latifah there ever will be, but I’m not necessarily the best J.Lo, and I’m not the best Halle Berry,” she says. “They are the best. I’ve gotta be me and let everybody else be them, and I think there’s room for all of us because America looks like all of us.”
