On being a star
‘I hate the attention, which is sort of funny as I’m an actress’

On her style
‘I don’t usually wear expensive things…its crazy your like $1,400 for shoes? I wait for the sale’

On Victoria Beckham
‘I respect anyone who really does her own thing. It takes a lot of energy and skill to pull that off. And I love that she doesn’t give a f***’

On meeting Karl Lagerfeld
‘It was so surreal, like meeting the pope or the president or a cartoon. He’s fantastic’

On being Maid of Honour for her best friend
‘You don’t understand. I’m freaking out. The groom is a writer! I have to be funny!’

On marriage and children
‘I don’t need to get married right now. I’m more ready for a baby than marriage, not really tomorrow but definitely in the next couple of years, which is the pretty near future. You have to have the guy, you know.’

On her character Summer Roberts in the OC
‘I wasn’t supposed to be anything really, they just decided I was funny’

On dating actors
‘You can’t help it, they’re who you surround your self with’

On Hayden Christen
‘Hayden is a guy’s guy. Tractors and such’
‘I’m learning to play chess. A certain someone happens to be very good and I don’t think I will ever accomplish beating that person. But that is the goal’

ON THE COVER: Rachel Bilson
September 7, 2008

Rachel Bilson has launched a million fashion crushes with her unique but subtle sex-bomb style. This week in Page Six Magazine, Rachel reveals her love for Coco Chanel and Hayden Christensen – and how she’s making it easy for copycats to steal her look in her new role as a designer.

The 27-year-old former star of “The O.C.” is recognized for her eclectic sense of style, which has also landed her in the crosshairs of the fashion police: “I think it’s cool to be on the worst-dressed list. If people aren’t accepting, that’s OK. Bring it on, I don’t care!”

Her passion for fashion had led her to unveil a new clothing line, Edie Rose (named after her late grandmother), debuting on DKNY Jeans. She admits she can’t sew, and “came with some pictures, a couple pieces of my own clothes and some ideas in my head. It’s simple with one pop of color, which is like me.” Rachel credits her style to her mother, Janice, a spiritual adviser. “Vintage is her love, she has a great eye, which I think I’ve inherited from her.”

Up next for Rachel is an abstract film collection of New York City stories due out next February titled “New York, I Love You,” in which she co-stars with current boyfriend Hayden Christensen. “I’m happy and that’s all that matters. I have someone really great. Someone who can make me laugh—that’s always what comes first. It’s the best to be able to really, like, truly laugh with someone like they’re your best friend, you know?”

She’s also serving as maid of honor at the wedding of “The O.C.” and “Gossip Girl” creator Josh Schwartz and her girlfriend, Jill.

As far as her ex-costar/ex-boyfriend Adam Brody? “They say don’t date your co-star, but that’s who you’re around. If you’re in an office, and you see someone everyday and you click well, you’ll start dating. It’s the same thing.”

For more on Rachel Bilson, check out this week’s issue of Page Six Magazine, free inside the Sunday edition of the New York Post and online on Monday at www.pagesixmag.com.

Today, a casually-dressed Rachel Bilson walked her Chuck Taylor’s into a Burbank liquor store and left with a purchase “mysteriously” veiled in a brown paper bag.

Perhaps it’s a bottle of champagne. After all, Bilson and beau Hayden Christensen have plenty to celebrate. In addition to being ridiculously attractive and so cute it makes us want to vomit, their new movie, “Jumper,” took first place at the box office over the weekend.

Go easy on the bubbly, Rach’. With your being petite, we’d wager a teaspoon of the stuff could render you lush-like.

Former “O.C.” star Rachel Bilson has been getting lots of attention for her recent patriotic-themed GQ cover and pictorial, and she stepped before another camera yesterday for a slightly different shoot. The actress struck a pose at a Burbank FedEx Kinko’s for a passport picture. The casually-dressed Rachel is a natural in front of any camera – and seemed to like the amateur photographer’s work. What a professional!

Puppy Love!

Rachel Bilson Comments Off

We’ve always had troubling occupying ourselves while pumping gas. We’ve tried the windshield washing ploy, the cleaning of in-car clutter, and the awkward “nice day, isn’t it?” with the person in the sedan behind us, but we still inevitably find ourselves watching the gallons (and price) tick forward in silence.

You can understand, then, why we were so happy to spot Rachel Bilson today, not only tackling but conquering our issue of at-pump boredom. And in the cutest fashion possible!
