Vampires and witches clearly don’t mix.

At the Ziegfeld Theatre premiere of “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince,” we asked star Emma Watson if sparks ever flew between her and former “Potter” castmate Robert Pattinson.

“He’s just a good friend!” Watson said. “He’s a super-nice guy, and girls love him. We’re just friends — but he sure was great to work with.”

Somewhere, Kristen Stewart is breathing a sigh of relief that there’s one less gal competing for the “Twilight” star’s affections.

Robert Pattinson’s sexy brooding isn’t an act: The “Twilight” star is seriously bummed by New York … and its women!
On-set sources from the hunky Brit’s new film, “Remember Me,” now filming in the Big Apple, reveal that the actor is hopelessly homesick for London.

“Robert is dying to get back home,” says an insider. “He’s so over everything. He’s overwhelmed by all the girls — they terrify him! He says girls grab his neck and clothing all of the time, and he’s not used to that. Fans don’t do that to him in London. Everyone there is a little cooler about the fame thing, which is what he’s used to.”

The star’s blatant unhappiness even has his “Remember Me” co-stars concerned. “He’s so skinny and stressed. Everyone on set is worried about him,” confesses our source.

Clearly Pattinson, who shot to fame as teenage vampire Edward Cullen in “Twilight,” isn’t enjoying his heartthrob status — or the female attention. “Robert doesn’t understand why everyone is going so crazy over him,” continues the insider.

“He’s embarrassed by the way girls throw themselves at him. The girls here are stalking him. He stayed in two different hotels over the course of four days just to try to escape the fans who were following him. He’s afraid that if he gives a hand, they’ll take the whole arm. He’s being advised by security not to encourage the crowd, so he doesn’t even look up anymore.”

True to form, the gorgeous star kept his head down early last week at the Crestwood Train Station in Yonkers, where “Remember Me” was filming. During one break, he headed to local bakery Martine’s, where an eyewitness observed, “He was completely silent in public, but when he got back to the crew, he was saying how glad he was to be away from prying eyes in Manhattan.”

This isn’t the first time that Pattinson’s public paranoia has reared its head. He told an Australian magazine back in June that he started crying while shooting “New Moon” in Italy because, “I [cry] when people are screaming at me.”

At least he can find solace from his homesickness with a few nights out on the town — we’ve spotted Pattinson drinking at local spots like Black and White, the Bowery Hotel, Freemans and Webster Hall.

It’s official. The winner of the MTV Movie Awards Hottest Couple award?

Gotta be those “Twilight” cuties Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, who were spotted dining alone — together — at Cecconi’s, the newest West Hollywood hot spot.

Kristen’s boyfriend, Michael Arangano, was noticeably missing as the couple left hordes of fans waiting out front and escaped together unnoticed out the back door right just before 11 p.m.

They even had a police escort as they left the restaurant!

Radaronline’s spies blabbed that Kristen and Rob retired to their West Hollywood hotel and no one has seen them since.

Wanna bet they are at the tres hip and private Chateau Marmont?

Of course they are.

And I bet they had a great time kissing away from the MTV cameras.

Robert Pattinson, who shot to stardom in “Twilight” and is now filming the second and third movies in the franchise, confirmed Tuesday in Cannes that there will be a fourth installment of the vampire franchise based on the book “Breaking Dawn.”

Pattinson told The Hollywood Reporter that he is committed to starring in the final outing to date but doesn’t know when backers Summit Entertainment will begin production because of the actor’s jam-packed shooting schedule.

Fans have been hoping for a movie version of the fourth novel from Stephenie Meyer’s best-sellers, so Pattinson’s commitment is the biggest fillip yet. The fourth book (caution — spoiler alert) centers on Bella and Edward’s marriage and her subsequent pregnancy.

Dropping in on the Croisette on the way to shooting the final four days of “New Moon” in Italy on Friday, Pattinson said he is heading back to Vancouver in October to finish up “Twilight: Eclipse,” the third installment. In between, the British actor, who turned 23 last week, plans to star in “Remember Me,” which Summit also is producing.

The script adaptation for “New Moon” beefs up his character’s role considerably — in the book, Edward is a “a voice in Bella’s head,” he said.

Said Pattinson, laughing: “You’re playing a figment in Bella’s imagination so I was trying to do it in a 2-D way. I hope it doesn’t translate onscreen as being boring.” The hardworking actor is taking a few days off after completing “New Moon” before the start of the “Remember Me” shoot. He plans three days off after an eight-week planned shoot for “Remember Me” before finishing “Eclipse” before October.

Pattinson said “Remember Me” is very difficult to describe but said it is very much about him and, after reading the script last summer, felt a connection with it. The main protagonist is a 23-year-old man who spends six weeks after meeting someone working out if he is in love or not.

The 23-track soundtrack hits stores the day before.

The actor also — who also plays the guitar — sings two songs on the Twilight soundtrack as well.

“Music is my backup plan if acting fails,” Pattinson told the Los Angeles Times in February.

Robert Pattinson likes to sink his teeth into a good party.

The “Twilight” hottie milled about Hollywood agent Patrick Whitesell’s recent bash in the Hills with a beer constantly in hand – and showed no signs of slowing down.

“I’m planning on staying up all night,” we overheard him tell a throng of admirers. “I’ve got a flight to Toyko in the morning, and there’s no point going to bed. I’m just going to pull an all-nighter!”

Between greeting fans of the female persuasion, Pattinson found the time to chat with a mascared and guy-linered Jared Leto. Other guests at the fete included Benicio Del Toro, Zach Braff, Mary-Kate Olsen and Jeremy Piven.

After being the first outlet to report that M.I.A. had delivered her baby and would not be performing at this year’s 81st Academy Awards, HitFix can now exclusively confirm that Robert Pattinson will be presenting an award during this year’s telecast.

The “Twilight” star had long been rumored to appear on Hollywood’s biggest night, but barring any unforeseen last minute conflicts, he’ll be giving the franchise’s legion of fans something to look forward to on Oscar Sunday.

Still unclear is whether Pattinson’s “Twilight” co-star Kristen Stewart will also appear on the telecast and what award he will specifically present. And, obviously, speculation will now run rampant on who Pattinson’s date down the red carpet will be.

Pattinson rose to super-stardom after being chose to play the dreamy vampire Edward Cullen in “Twilight.” The first in a series of big screen adaptations of Stephenie Meyer’s popular book series, “Twilight” astounded the industry by raking in $188 million domestically and $357 million worldwide.

The 22-year-old Brit will appear later this spring as Salvador Dali in the indie drama “Little Ashes.” He’s expected to begin production next month on the “Twilight” sequel, “New Moon” which will be released Nov. 20.
