Earlier this month, Jodie Foster appeared to join Everett as one of the industry’s few “out” gay stars when she thanked her “beautiful” partner, Cydney Bernard, at an awards event in LA. But Everett says that doesn’t prove acceptance of gay actors has increased. “It’s the opposite. She is 45 and she just couldn’t be bothered anymore,” he told the Times of London. “After a certain age you can be gay in Hollywood. Before that it’s not only not good, it’s impossible.” In his latest film, “St. Trini an’s,” Everett is in drag as Cam illa Fritton, headmistress of a zany girls’ boarding school.

British actor Rupert Everett has launched a scathing attack on Hollywood legends Al Pacino and Robert De Niro, branding them “tragic parodies” of the icons they once were.

The 48-year-old insists the film industry has deteriorated into shallow, celebrity-obsessed “trash” – and blames its biggest players for perpetuating the trend.

He says, “De Niro, (Robert) Redford, (Diane) Keaton, (Woody) Allen, Pacino – they’re all just tragic parodies of themselves. Al Pacino looks like a mad old freak now. I say give it a rest, or go and do some serious stuff.”

But the My Best Friend’s Wedding star reserves his harshest criticism for American actor George Clooney.

He adds, “Clooney thinks that, provided he does films which are politically committed, he’s allowed to do Ocean’s 11, 12 and 13. But the Ocean’s movies are a cancer to world culture. They’re destroying us. He’s not the brightest spark on the boulevard. He’ll be president one day. Mark my words, if he’s straight, he’ll be president.”

British actor Rupert Everett is so paranoid about losing his hair, he has sacrificed his ability to have children to maintain his locks. The star fears his family’s trend for baldness will affect him, so he takes medication to prevent it – but it has the unfortunate side effect of killing his sperm count.

And openly gay Everett insists his hair is far more important to him. He says, “It means I don’t have any sperm left. If I stop taking the pills, all my hair will fall out, but I would rather have hair than sperm.”
