Was Diddy Set Up?

SEAN “Diddy” Combs had no idea Chris Brown was going to use his home on Star Island to stage his reconciliation with Rihanna for the paparazzi. A music industry insider tells us, “Chris called and said he needed to crash at Diddy’s house while he was recording. He said it would just be him and his mom.” In fact, Brown, who just got charged with two felonies for allegedly beating up Rihanna the night of the Grammys, brought her down and called the photographers. “Chris is a dog,” another spy said. “He’s always been so critical and nasty to Rihanna, making fun of her accent.”

Got Cash? Diddy Does!!
Sean “P. Diddy” Combs flashes his roll at the Cleveland Cavaliers vs New York Knicks game at Madison Square Garden on February 4, 2009 in New York City.

Sean Combs was supposed to co-host a birthday party for DJ Clue at club M2 on West 28th Street Monday night with Kobe Bryant after the historic Knicks/Lakers game in which Bryant scored 61 points.
But nobody warned Combs that the New York Police Department had an undercover gun detail searching guests as they came into the club. “Everyone wanted to make sure that the dozens of NBA stars in attendance, including Lamar Odom, Vince Carter and Pau Gasol, would be safe,” the insider said.
When Diddy arrived at 1:45 a.m. with a six-man entourage, a witness said he “flipped out” when cops asked to search him and his friends. “He went nuts, saying, ‘Why are you disrespecting me like this? Why are you doing this to me?’ During the commotion, one of his guys slipped away, unsearched, back to the car.”
Combs “stormed off and started to text DJ Clue asking, ‘What the [bleep] is going on?’ and asked if he could go in the back entrance.” When told that the cops would have to search him and his friends there as well, Combs decided not to attend the party. His rep had no comment.
Combs has had issues in the past with hidden weapons and cops. In 1999, while he was dating Jennifer Lopez, a member of his entourage opened fire in a nightclub. A stolen pistol was found in one of Combs’ SUVs, but he was acquitted of gun-possession charges.
A rep for M2 – which is hosting a party for Will Ferrell’s Broadway show “You’re Welcome, America. A Final Night With George W. Bush” tomorrow – said, “We always welcome the police to safeguard our patrons.”
At least Bryant was happy to be patted down and stayed until 4 a.m. “He was in the VIP area, where there were strict orders not to let any women in near him,” we’re told. On his way out, Bryant (who drank water), after ordering two bottles of champagne for his pals, left the waitresses a $2,000 tip.

This afternoon, Diddy and Ciroc Vodka offered Mayor Bloomberg $1 million to change the iconic New Years Eve sphere blue. Diddy and Ciroc will donate the $1 million to a charity benefiting the people of New York in an exchange for turning the sphere blue.
CÎROC Ultra Premium Vodka, the Official Vodka of New Year’s Eve, and Sean “Diddy” Combs have made an unprecedented offer to the City of New York: the brand and the hip-hop mogul plan to donate $1 million to a charity on behalf of the city in exchange for a New Year’s Eve ball takeover.
The brand has already secured an enormous presence in Times Square this holiday season with its impressive billboards, but in true Diddy fashion, the plan doesn’t stop there. The vodka brand wants to change the historic crystal ball to reflect its iconic blue sphere. The color of the sphere originates from a unique plant that grows in the Gaillac region of France, where CÎROC is still produced, and serves as a symbol of prosperity for the area even today.
“As the ‘Official Vodka of New Year’s Eve,’ it’s only fitting that we take over New York, the most iconic New Year’s city in the world,” said Combs, who entered into a strategic marketing alliance with the ultra-premium spirit more than one year ago. “I’m going to give every adult in America a taste of what it’s like to enjoy a sophisticated celebration with Diddy, and what better time than while ringing in the New Year.”
Consumers should also stay tuned for a soon-to-be-announced campaign this holiday season that will focus on one of the most important aspects of sophisticated celebration—responsibility.

Go in the Voting Booth with Diddy!
In 2004, he urged people to “vote or die” with a flashy campaign. This time around, Diddy let cameras into the voting booth with him.
“People died for us to have this right,” the rap mogul says in this clip, which shows him casting his vote in New York City Tuesday. “So to exercise this right today is to give back to Martin Luther King and Rosa Parks and everyone who fought for us.”
“As a representative of the youth vote, you know, I think this year we’re going to shock the world and break all the numbers, all the records ever.”
Although he doesn’t specifically call out Barack Obama in the video, Diddy – who turns 39 on this election day – has made his support for the Democratic candidate clear in the past.
Referring to the black community, Diddy says, “We’re not going to vote for anyone just because they’re black. We’re going to vote for the best candidate. He has to be extra qualified for us to vote for him. ”
