SNOOP DOGG has slammed U.S. talk show queen OPRAH WINFREY after she branded him a misogynist. Last year, Winfrey named the rapper, real name Calvin Broadus, as a prime offender in perpetuating a negative image of women through hip-hop – without inviting him on-air. And the star insists he was desperate to have the opportunity to defend himself on the show, as he doesn’t believe her accusations were accurate. The 36-year-old says, “I don’t like her no more. I really was offended, because I kind of like her. “Liked her. I’m very articulate, very intellectual. She didn’t even get a chance to even know me.” But Broadus insists any misogynistic ways he once had are firmly behind him, as his new work “is for the women” to make up for his past misdemeanours. He adds, “(I want to) give the ladies something, because I’ve been so mean and so rude.”

IT turns out rapper Snoop Dogg and R&B queen Mary J. Blige are huge “One Life to Live” fans. A source reports Blige just wrapped a taping she did for the soap for which she brought her own back-up band. In the two-part Valentine’s Day episode set to air on Feb. 15 and 18, Blige sings two songs at the surprise birthday party for Starr Manning, daughter of the town’s bad-boy millionaire. When Snoop heard about Blige, he called and offered to write and perform a new theme song for the daytime drama. “I’m a huge fan of Snoop and I’d love to hear what he’d come up with,” said the show’s supervising music director, Paul Glass.

SNOOP DOGG has proven his marriage is back on track – he and his wife SHANTE have renewed their wedding vows to mark their 10th anniversary. The hip-hop star – real name Cordozar Calvin Broadus Jr. – surprised his spouse on January 12, 2008 by arranging a romantic ceremony attended by 200 guests to renew their nuptials at a ranch just outside Los Angeles. Dressed in a black tuxedo, the rapper exchanged vows with Shante for the second time and presented her with a diamond ring to seal his commitment to their marriage. The couple wed in 1998 and have three children together – 13-year-old Corde, 10-year-old Cordell and seven-year-old Cori. Broadus’ romantic gesture was filmed as part of his reality TV show, Snoop Dogg’s Father Hood, and will be screened on the E! channel next month.

Hip-hop star SNOOP DOGG is confident he is a more accomplished singer than his pal SEAN COMBS. The rapper ditched his traditional spoken words in favour of singing on his track Sensual Seduction, and insists he has a much better vocal range than Combs, who was last heard singing on Last Night, his collaboration with Keyshia Cole. The star – real name Calvin Broadus – says, “I think Puffy can just sing alto and tenor. But I can sing alto, tenor and soprano. I can sing any note.”

Rapper SNOOP DOGG’s nine-year-old lovechild wants his father to help him become a TV star – by including him on his reality TV show. Julian Corrie Broadus reveals he hasn’t seen his father for five years and now he wants to play a big part in Snoop’s life, and appear on his TV show Snoop Dogg’s Father Hood. The youngster tells America’s Star magazine, “I don’t want to be an actor, I want to be a baseball player. But I want to be on the show to get to know my family.” Snoop had a romance with Julian’s mother Laurie Holmond just before he wed wife Shante in the late 1990s, but the rapper’s on/off girlfriend claims they had a brief fling months after the nuptials – and her son was the product of that affair. The rapper initially paid his son visits and paid child support but when he stopped seeing Julian in 2003, Holmond set about proving Snoop – real name Calvin Broadus – was the child’s legal biological father. A ruling was entered this summer (07), and now Holmond is hoping her ex will make their son a part of his new TV show. She says, “I asked him to start seeing Julian again. He sounded sincere but has yet to come by… Calvin needs to acknowledge him.”

Snoop Dogg has been refused entry into Australia because of his extensive criminal record, the immigration minister said Thursday, the second time this year the rapper has been barred from entering another country.

Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Cordozar Calvin Broadus Jr., was due to fly into Sydney this week to co-host the MTV Australia Video Music Awards.

Immigration Minister Kevin Andrews said Snoop Dogg’s visa was canceled because he had failed to pass the country’s strict character test, which takes criminal convictions into account.

“He doesn’t seem the sort of bloke we want in this country,” Andrews told Sydney’s Macquarie Radio.

The rapper now has 28 days to protest the decision.

Donald Etra, the rapper’s Los Angeles-based lawyer, said he had not heard from his client about the visa cancellation and could not comment.

Earlier this month, Snoop Dogg was sentenced to five years’ probation and 800 hours of community service after he pleaded no contest to felony gun and drug charges in California.

Snoop Dogg was convicted in 1990 of cocaine possession and charged with gun possession after a 1993 traffic stop. In 1997, he pleaded guilty in exchange for three years’ probation and a promise to make public service announcements against violence.

He was acquitted of a murder charge in 1996 after the death of an alleged street-gang member killed by gunfire from the vehicle in which Snoop Dogg was traveling.

During Snoop Dogg’s last visit to Australia in February, Andrews said he overstayed his visa by two days and was given an official warning.

In March, Snoop Dogg and fellow rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs were forced to scrap a tour of Britain after authorities denied Snoop Dogg a visa. Britain’s Home Office rules state that foreign citizens can be barred from entering the country if there are concerns about their presence.

In April 2006, Snoop Dogg and five other men were arrested on charges of violent disorder and starting a brawl, and spent the night in jail after trouble flared when some in the rapper’s party were denied entry to British Airways’ first-class lounge at Heathrow Airport.

If you want Snoop Dogg to play at an event, not only will you have to pay his $150,000 fee, you’ll have to accommodate his unusual tastes and enormous entourage. Organizers of Tuesday night’s Pussycat Dolls concert at Cipriani Wall Street to benefit UNICEF, which also featured the rapper, had to fly in more than 10 members of his posse, first-class. Then, at the last minute, Snoop almost didn’t go on because, “he insisted on having an Xbox in his dressing room,” an insider said. “We finally found someone who lent us their kids’ Xbox, and had to put Snoop somewhere on the third floor because he was smoking so much dope.” Snoop and his pals were having such a good time they were an hour late making it to the stage, forcing the Pussycat Dolls, who were paid $300,000 to perform, to actually talk – which wasn’t a good thing. While introducing themselves, one of the blond dolls thanked “Unicel” instead of “UNICEF.” A rep for Snoop – who is open about his love for reefer – didn’t return calls.
