If Tim Robbins wants to see what his partner, Susan Sarandon, 62, looked like naked when she was young, he should check out “The Apprentice.” The 1971 sex flick – which was shot in Quebec when the future Oscar winner was 24 and was in theaters just a few days before being shelved 37 years ago – is getting its first DVD release next month. “There is sex in the movie and Sarandon is sexy and nude,” an insider tells us. “There are a few sex scenes and one involving Sarandon as a sensual Anglophone model who’s a prisoner of her own sexual abandonment.”

Susan Sarandon turns 62 tomorrow, but it hasn’t made her shy about taking off her clothes. The Oscar-winning liberal is seen lying on her back in fishnets and a strategically placed feather boa in Timothy White’s upcoming book, “Hollywood Pinups,” which also features scantily-clad, ’40s-style shots of Molly Sims, Mary-Kate Olsen, Kate Hudson, Angie Harmon, Gina Gershon and Jamie-Lynn Sigler. “What a treat to play in the world of the beautiful, perfect pinup fantasy,” Sarandon writes.

The Oscar-winning liberals recently attended a Landmarks Preservation Commission hearing to oppose St. Vincent’s plea to build a new, larger hospital on West 12th Street, three blocks from their home. This despite their support of causes like UNICEF and Champions for Children. “The hospital provides $40 million in care to the indigent every year,” one proponent told us. “Robbins dismissed more than 100 people rallying in support of the hospital – low-income, union workers and veterans of the AIDS crisis – as ‘those people out there.’ ” Sarandon said in a statement: “Improving the hospital is a great idea. However, this can be accomplished without compromising the neighborhood. St. Vincent’s should consider the proposed alternative solutions.” Robbins declined to comment.

Such threats are almost never carried out. Eight years ago, Barbra Streisand, Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder, Alec Baldwin, and the late director Robert Altman all threatened to leave the US if George W. Bush got elected. None did. Four years ago, Robert Redford said he’d leave the country if Bush got re-elected. He’s still in Utah. So don’t believe Sarandon, either.

Veteran Hollywood actress SUSAN SARANDON celebrated her landmark 60th birthday by having tattoos inked onto her skin.

Sarandon, now 61, used the body art to pay tribute to her three children Eva, Jack and Miles.

But the Oscar-winning star was shocked by how painful the procedure was.

She says, “I got my kids’ initials tattooed on my back. It really hurt. It hurt so much more than I thought it would.”

But the pain did not appear to deter the Dead Man Walking star from returning to the tattoo parlour for another etching: “I got another tattoo on my wrist afterwards. But I’m going to save the next one until I’m 70 or 80.”

SUSAN Sarandon outraged the Jewish Voice for Peace group when she crossed its picket line to attend a cocktail party last month in the new Madison Avenue jewelry store of Lev Leviev, a diamond-dealing real-estate mogul who owns the former New York Times building and the Apthorp building on the Upper West Side.

Now the California-based grass-roots organization has sent the star a letter asking her to “publicly sever ties” with the jeweler, whom the group is boycotting because he supports Jewish settlements in the West Bank. But Sarandon’s rep denies she’s allied with the high-end gem dealer.
The picketers, who were there for the Leviev store launch in mid-November, stood on the sidewalk with Palestinian flags, shouting, “You’re glitz, you’re glam, you’re building on Palestinian land,” and, “Occupation is a drag, just say no to your gift bag.” A source told Page Six that Sarandon marched in and “tried not to notice the yells outside.”

Now the group has posted its letter to Sarandon on its Web site, demanding that the Oscar-winner join their boycott.

“As longtime admirers of your work on social justice issues and as Jewish activists, we promote a peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Palestine conflict. We . . . call your attention to the crimes of Lev Leviev and to urge you to publicly sever all connections with him and his company,” it reads.

“Leviev is a very dangerous force not only in Israel. His real estate development projects have been roundly criticized for shoddy building, harsh treatment of workers and dangerous buildings and work sites.

“As Jews who yearn and work for a just peace for Palestinians and Israelis, we implore you to take a public stand against Leviev. Your recent public appearance with him makes it seem as if you support his efforts, and we’re certain this is not the impression you want to give.”
But Sarandon’s representative questioned whether the actress attending one Leviev event amounted to “ties,” and added, “She has no ties to any jewelry company.”

A spokeperson for Leviev said, “These protests are inaccurate in their charges against LEVIEV diamonds. LEVIEV is a rigorous supporter of the UN-mandated Kimberly Process concerning conflict-free diamonds and ensures that all gemstones – of all colors – are sourced through internationally recognized legal and ethical guidelines.”
