Say this for Jessica Simpson – she doesn’t hold back.

“I am so excited that I am going to see my boyfriend tonight!” the singer told a crowd of nearly 30,000 fans at Radio 99.9 Kiss Country’s annual Chili Cookoff Sunday at C. B. Smith Park in Pembroke Pines, Fla., where she shared the bill with Alan Jackson and other country stars.

Smiling, happy and hopping around the stage, Simpson, 28, performed a medley of her pop hit songs (“Angel,” “With You”) during her hour-long show, as well as delivered new songs from Do You Know, her first country album released last fall.

Simpson’s rendition of “You’re My Sunday,” from the country album, was dedicated to her boyfriend, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, who was waiting for her in Dallas.

“My boyfriend is a football player, and he takes up my Sundays and now my Mondays,” Simpson told the appreciative audience. “I am sooo happy!”

Posing with Fans
After the show, the songbird did a quick meet-and-greet for about 25 fans of all ages in a secret tent set up in the back of the park. As she entered the enclosure, she cracked, “My six inch heels are not working so well!”

But she sure was. Radiant, smiling and pouring on a warm charm to those who had won a contest to meet her, Simpson posed for photos with all the fans – even though she had to catch a 5:45 p.m. flight to Dallas to see Romo.

Looks like Jessica Simpson needs to nurse Tony Romo back to health!

The Dallas Cowboys quarterback collapsed in the shower following a 44 to 6 defeat against the Philadelphia Eagles Sunday, according to ESPN.com.

Team sources told the sports Web site that medical staff brought in a stretcher, but Romo walked out on his own. He still participated in a news conference shortly after, but had to be helped to the podium.

ESPN reports that Romo may have suffered a rib injury in the second half of the game — the Cowboys’ biggest loss ever — but Romo refused to answer questions about his health.

Jessica Simpson is on the rise when it comes to her professional life as she continues to make movies, music, apparel and the recent launch of her second fragrance “Fancy.” But ever since she hooked up with Dallas QB Tony Romo, it seems the pop princess-turned-country crooner has become more dedicated to nurturing her personal life.

“My personality is now more stay-at-home; right now I’m doing the Christmas tree and everything. I’m in Dallas and its fun, Tony (Romo) hasn’t had Christmas in 7 years because they have football every Christmas and he can’t go home,” Simpson told Tarts last week. “So I’m bringing Christmas to him this year and it’s been fun. I’ve been out ornament shopping and all kinds of stuff, so that’s more of who I am.”

And even though Ms. Simpson certainly has a sexy little bod, she insisted that she survives on sugary delights.

“Believe it or not, I like to bake pies,” she added. “Tony’s favorite is pumpkin pie and I haven’t mastered that yet. Maybe I’m more of a baker; I like to make cakes, more fattening. I make a good carrot cake.”

Hmmm, we don’t know how pleased Romo’s teammates will be with Simpson if their star player turns up to training a little too loved — or love-handled — up …

Looks like Jessica Simpson has a pet name for beau Tony Romo: Cowboy.

At Thursday night’s KJ.97 Randy Carroll’s Christmas Bash in San Antonio, Texas, Simpson, 27, sang three songs and repeatedly referred to “my cowboy.”

(It’s not a huge stretch: He’s the quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys.)

Before belting out her tune, “Come on Over,” Simpson chatted with country singer Billy Carrington about her love life on stage.

“So, I see you really like doing the guitar playing thing, the hair, the cargo pants you’re wearing – everything I used to date,” she said. “But aren’t you a cowboy, too?”

Switching gears to talk about Romo, whom she never mentioned by name, Simpson said: “You know, I’ve got a cowboy, only my cowboy is a little bit different. I wrote this song for my cowboy – it’s called ‘Come On Over.’ I can’t help it. I want him all the time.”

(Simpson also wrote “Back in My Old Boots” for Romo.)

She also caught a little flack on behalf of Romo.

“Jessica, I hope your boyfriend throws a lot of touchdowns this weekend, cause we’re getting frustrated right now,” singer John Rich told her.

The screams were ear-splitting when movie star Will Smith and Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo entered the Lake Highlands gynasium for a surprise pep rally visit.

The pep rally was for the school’s state-bound volleyball team and bi-district champion football team, but Smith stopped by during his swing through Dallas promoting his new movie, “Seven Pounds.” The star said it was his first visit to a high school in years.

We’re not sure why Romo was tagging along, but none of the stunned students were complaining. They were too busy screaming and snapping pictures.

Smith and Romo had a little fun with the crowd while also delivering inspirational messages. Smith started out by asking Romo, “How’s the pinkie?” to much laughter. Romo shook his hand to show he was fine.

Then Smith told the students that when he first started on TV’s “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” producer Quincy Jones gave him two words of advice: fearless and relentless. He said you have to be both to achieve your goals.

Romo talked about the doubts that he, as an undrafted free agent, could even make the team, much less become starting quarterback of the Cowboys. He said what was keeping him from reaching his goals was him, not what other people were saying.

Then the two celebrities had some fun. Romo played a game with the crowd, telling them to clap at the appropriate “hike!” after he called signals – just like he would at the line of scrimmage. Of course, just like some offensive linemen, each time a portion of the crowd woudl clap too soon.

Smith mugged along as Romo barked out the signals. Then Smith did an impromptu beatbox jam, instructing the crowd to chant “Wildcats” at the appropriate time.

Just before the duo left, Smith had one more message: “Every single day of your life, I want you to make somebody better.”

They left to a rousing ovation, as the marching band played one of Smith’s R&B hits.

Although the visit was supposed to be a surprise, word had leaked that Romo and someone else would be at the pep rally. As a group of women (probably football players’ mothers) walked out of the gym, I overheard one of them say, “I thought it would be Tony and Jessica. This was even better!”

Tony takes a time out to watch his mini-me on Dancing with the Stars.

Looks like Tony is channeling his foot work and scrambling ability to mini-me.
That or he’s tired of Flozell’s bad penalties and T.O. getting in his face on the sideline.

The pop singer turned country crooner dishes about the heat between her and Tony Romo to Cosmopolitan: “[Tony and I] are definitely compatible in all areas.” And marriage is still on her mind. “Any person who I’m gonna date for longer than six months, I definitely am investing in something long-term,” she said about her boyfriend of two years. “If I get married again, then it will be the last time.”

Jessica Simpson stood up two dates on Tuesday night – boyfriend Tony Romo and … Elmo?

The singer – who designs clothing, shoes and handbags for Macy’s – was supposed to fly from Nashville to New York Tuesday to celebrate the department store’s 150th anniversary.

But driving rain caused serious flight delays, forcing Simpson to miss her scheduled Macy’s gig singing “Happy Birthday” with Elmo.

In fact the deparment store party – which included guests like Eva Mendes, Tommy Hilfiger and Martha Stewart – had nearly ended by the time Simpson finally arrived at 8:30 p.m.

“I’m so, so sorry!” she said as she rushed into Manhattan’s Gotham Hall with her B.F.F. hairstylist Ken Paves. “[I wish] I could be God and control the weather.”

But her injured NFL boyfriend, for one, was hoping she’d miss the event.

“Tony was just praying [that I wouldn't make it out],” Simpson admitted. “He had planned a really romantic date in case I didn’t make it [to New York] tonight.”

And while a date night was tempting, “I decided to come,” she continued. “I’m like, ‘Honey, I have to go.’ ”

So what make’s the quarterback such a catch? “His heart!” she said.

Jessica Simpson performed for thousands of fans at the State Fair of Texas in Dallas Friday night, but made sure one man in the crowd, her boyfriend Tony Romo, was the center of attention.

“Wow, I love Dallas,” the singer told the crowd at the city’s Fair Park, just east of downtown. “Obviously, I love Dallas because I grew up here and this is my home – you guys are my family – but I did find an amazing boyfriend here in Dallas!”

Cheers erupted for the Cowboys quarterback, who smiled, looking on from the sound area. Although some fans were clearly more interested in watching him watch Simpson perform – their backs were to the stage the entire time – Romo didn’t seem to mind the attention. He grinned as Simpson, 28, called him “the calm of the storm in my life” and said, “Whatever I go through, I know I can depend on him to relax and bring me faith again.”

Before singing “My Sunday,” she added, “This is a song I wrote about a certain someone who throws that football really good.” Simpson giggled and Romo, 28, beamed.

Nursing a broken pinky and chatting with Cowboys tight end Jason Witten, Romo bobbed his head with the music and was caught singing along to a few songs. When Simpson hit a powerful note during “Do You Know,” he clapped in awe.

The admiration was mutual. “Sometimes, to find a love as big as that, you have to go through some heartbreak, some ugly ones and some butthead ones,” Simpson told the crowd. “You go through that to really appreciate where you are in life right now.”

Speaking of “buttheads,” she said she wrote the song “Still Don’t Stop Me” about an ex. “For some reason, I kept letting some guy come into my life. I couldn’t understand it until I wrote this song and was like, ‘Jessica, you need to wake up.’”

Midway through the show, Simpson left the stage as her band was introduced. Romo, protected by police, was also escorted backstage. He returned to the sound booth when she took the stage again.
