TRAVIS BARKER BLASTS ‘DEADBEAT MOMS’

Rocker TRAVIS BARKER’s on/off romance with SHANNA MOAKLER appears to be very much off again after he blasted “deadbeat mums” via the Twitter.com social site.
The drummer wasn’t naming names, but appeared very upset about one particular mother – and gossips insist he was going after his ex-wife.
He wrote, “Kids are not to be used as weapons. Deadbeat moms that sleep all day, seeking money, attention like 2 do so. Just hurts the kids in the end.”
He added, “Giving birth 2 a child doesn’t make u a good mom. Taking care of them, loving them, waking up with them, spending time with them does.”
Moakler and Barker share two kids together. They divorced last year (Feb08) but reconciled after the Blink-182 star’s plane crash in September 2008.

Travis Barker and Shanna Moakler have split again, their reps confirm to Usmagazine.com.
The couple — who divorced in 2004 but reconciled last September after Barker’s near-fatal plane crash — called it quits “after a nasty fight broke out at his house last night and cops were called…[when] Shanna started freaking out and acting irrational,” a source tells Us.
No charges were filed.
“Travis confronted Shanna about her having an affair with Gerard Butler while he was in the hospital recovering,” the source says. Butler and Moakler were spotted getting cozy at the Hollywood opening of Shin Korean BBQ last October.
A source close to Butler insists to Us, “They were always just friends. Nothing more.”
Barker “just wants to focus on his music and his children right now. He is done with her drama,” the source says.
In February, Barker told Us he “couldn’t be happier” after reuniting with Moakler, who was spotted wearing her wedding band at a Grammys party.
Barker’s rep tells Us: “After surviving the plane crash his driving force in life is the love he has for his kids. He is tired of all other drama and is ready to move on.”
A rep for Moakler tells Us: “They did break up but Shanna never cheated on Travis while he was in the hospital. Furthermore, Shanna is tired of playing out their personal relationship in the press.”
Barker, 33, and Moakler, 34, are parents to Landon Asher and Alabama Luella. She also has a daughter, Atiana Cecilia, with ex Oscar de la Hoya. They starred in the MTV reality show “Meet the Barkers” in 2006.
“The babies are the most important thing right now,” adds the insider. “Shanna cheated on him and then told everyone they were in love again while she was having an affair and he was recovering from the accident.”
Barker spent a month in the hospital in the hospital with second and third degree burns on his hands and lower body following the crash, which killed four people and badly injured Adam “DJ AM” Goldstein.
“It’s over now and he just wants to move on,” the pal says.

The on-again, off- again saga of Travis Barker and Shanna Moakler is in the “off” position

The couple, who married in 2004, divorced in 2006 and have gotten back together and broken up umpteen times, are taking a break. “They still love each other madly, but this is just the nature of their relation ship,” says a friend of Moakler, adding, “I bet they’ll be back together soon enough.” Moakler’s rep, Lizzie Grubman, tells Page Six, “We never comment on the personal lives of our clients.”

Wife of Barker’s assistant sues over crash

The wife of Travis Barker’s assistant sued several aviation companies and the estates of two pilots Tuesday over the South Carolina plane crash that killed her husband earlier this year.
Otilia Villar Baker, wife of Chris Baker, filed the suit in Los Angeles Superior court, alleging negligence and wrongful death. The lawsuit was also filed on behalf of the Bakers’ young son, Sebastian.
The suit claims the companies contributed to the Sept. 19 crash that also killed the two pilots and Barker’s bodyguard. Barker and musical collaborator Adam Goldstein, known as DJ AM, were severely injured.
The suit seeks damages for pain and anguish Baker suffered before his death, loss of earnings, companionship, repayment of funeral and other costs.
Barker sued the same companies, which include Clay Lacy Aviation, Goodyear Tire and Rubber, Bombardier Inc., Global Exec Aviation and Inter Travel & Services, last month.
His lawsuit faulted the pilots, but did not name their estates as defendants.
Otilia Baker’s suit seeks damages from the estates of the two pilots. Their families could not be reached for comment Tuesday night.
In response to Barker’s suit, a representative of Clay Lacy said the company merely brokered the fatal flight, while a Goodyear spokesman said the suit was premature because an NTSB investigation hasn’t been completed. Bombardier said it did not respond to pending lawsuits, and representatives of the other companies could not be reached for comment.

Punk musician Travis Barker and celebrity disc jockey DJ AM will perform together for the first time since the duo survived a fiery plane crash in South Carolina.
The former Blink-182 drummer and DJ AM, whose real name is Adam Goldstein, will headline New Year’s Nation’s Los Angeles New Year’s Eve Party at The Lot in West Hollywood.
“I’m ready to get back on stage with AM and continue to rock the house,” Barker said in a statement. “I’m very excited to bring in the New Year in my hometown of L.A.”
The performance will be streamed on the Internet and broadcast at other New Year’s Nation parties across the U.S. It will mark the first concert for the pair – who go by TRVSDJAM – since they performed at a free concert for about 10,000 people in Columbia, S.C., before boarding a private plane Sept. 19 for Los Angeles that crashed and killed four people.
Travis Barker is looking for justice.
In his first postcrash TV news interview, the musician tells E! News exclusively why he decided to file a lawsuit over the plane crash that killed four people and left Barker and DJ AM badly burned.
“I wouldn’t have been in the state I was in if I wasn’t in the crash,” said Barker, who spoke Sunday while at the Miss California USA event with Shanna Moakler. “I wouldn’t have third-degree burns all over my body or be prohibited to do certain things. I can’t go swimming. I can’t do some of the things that normal people can do. I didn’t ask for that to happen.”
DJ AM, who is also continuing his recovery from the Sept. 19 incident, is not part of the lawsuit. Said Barker: “I can’t speak for him—I think everyone just has different attorneys.” The two are currently rehearsing for a New Year’s Eve gig at the Paramount lot in Hollywood.
The drummer says he doesn’t know if he’ll win his lawsuit.
“I don’t know. I just think positive. I mean, I think so—if something goes wrong that’s not supposed to go wrong or you fall victim of it, I think you should be compensated.”
He says he’s not just speaking for himself, either. “I lost two friends in the accident. Nothing can bring them back or what I lost in the accident.”

Two months after surviving a tragic plane crash, Travis Barker is suing Bombardier Inc., Clay Lacy Aviation and Goodyear Tire and Rubber, alleging the Learjet was defective, TMZ.com reported on Friday.
The suit, filed in L.A. County Superior Court, was filed by Barker and Thelma Martin Still, the mother of Charles “Che” Still, Barker’s bodyguard who died in the crash on September 19.
The suit alleges “one or more of the tires failed leaving tire debris and portions of airplane components along the 8,600 foot runway,” as well as, “a negligent attempt to abort takeoff.”
Barker and Martin also claim, “It’s landing gear, tires, wheels, brakes, reverse thrust system, squat switches and component parts were not airworthy.”
Barker, who suffered second and third degree burns on his hands and lower body is suing for “pain and suffering, mental anguish, psychological and emotional distress and disfigurement and pre-impact fear of death and burning,” according to TMZ.
Barker suffered second and third degree burns on his hands and lower body, but but recently revealed he is doing much better.
“Thanks for all the support. I feel better every day,” he said on Sunday’s TRL finale in his first televised interview since the accident. “I’m already playing my drums again, and I’m already back in the studio.”

Travis Barker ventures out for the first time since surviving fatal plane crash

Brave drummer Travis Barker has been pictured out and about for the first time since suffering second and third degree burns in a plane crash last month.
The former Blink-182 drummer was left with burns on his hands and lower body after surviving the private jet crash in South Carolina, which left four dead.
After being released from hospital just over a week ago, Barker has been spending quality time with his two children as he continues to recover.
Over the weekend, the 32-year-old musician took his two-year-old daughter Alabama for lunch at the Marmalade Cafe in Santa Monica.
Looking tired and drawn, Barker’s scars and burns were clearly visible on his legs and hands as he carried the tot to the eaterie.
While his right leg was exposed to the fresh air, his left leg was still bandaged up.

Barker was forced to give up his vegetarian diet following his severe injuries in a bid to increase his protein intake so he could boost his recovery time.
The drummer and his friend, celebrity disc jockey Adam ‘DJ AM’ Goldstein were the only survivors when the Learjet plane crashed upon take-off at Columbia, South Carolina airport following a gig in the town on September 19.
Goldstein, ex-fiance of socialite Nicole Richie, suffered burns on his arms, neck and head in the crash.
Pilot Sarah Lemmon, 31, from California, co-pilot James Bland, 52, also from California, security guard Charles Still, 25, of Los Angeles and Barker’s assistant Chris ‘Lil Chris’ Baker, 26, also of Los Angeles, all died instantly.
Over the weekend, Goldstein was bravely seen boarding a flight at Los Angeles LAX airport, while Barker has vowed he will never fly again.
As the plane attempted to take off, it veered off the runway, shot across the nearby highway and burst into flames on an embankment.
The plane reportedly hit the fence during take-off, pieces of the plane broke off and the fuselage caught fire.
The National Transportation Safety Board said last week they believed shredded tires and debris on the runway was the likely cause of the crash.
The condition of the brakes, which were severely damaged in the crash, are still being examined.

Earlier this month, Barker admitted he was incredibly lucky to be alive following the horrific accident.
He said: ‘I hate planes. My biggest fear ever is to be involved in a plane crash, so when that happened… well, I’m just thankful to be alive. I’m just grateful to be here at all.
‘I’ve just been in surgery after surgery. I have third degree burns basically from my feet up to my waist and both hands. One of my hands was second degree burns and one was third degree burns.
‘I’m trying to have a quick recovery and play the drums again and be able to hold my kids again.’
Barker’s former band Blink-182 had a series of hits in their native U.S. and two top 10 hits in the U.K., including All The Small Things and I Miss You.
After leaving Blink-182 in 2005, Barker formed another band +44 and starred alongside his ex-wife Shanna Moakler in a MTV reality show Meet The Barkers.
The couple, who divorced last year, are the parents of son Landon, four, and daughter Alabama, two.

Travis Barker: DJ AM Is “an Inspiration”

Three weeks after his tragic Learjet crash, Travis Barker is thanking friends and fans for support in a new post on his MySpace page.
He also blogs that he is in high spirits after seeing DJ AM – who, along with Barker, was the only survivor in the Sept. 19 crash.
“I got to see AM the other day. Seeing him after he was discharged was an inspiration,” writes Barker. “I saw just how awesome the doctors’ work here is, and got to see how well he is doing. I am so happy to see him doing well, and we are both so lucky and grateful that we are alive today.”
As for his own recovery, Barker (who suffered second-and third-degree burns) says, “It’s been a slow recovery process. I am coming up on the 7th of my surgeries Monday. Today I finally was able to move all my fingers on my right hand. Every step seems huge at this point, and I’m doing EVERYTHING I can possibly do to get back to my kids.
“Yes, I did start eating meat again, but if it helps me to be home holding my little humans sooner, then it’s all worth it,” writes the star, who has been a vegetarian for 25 years. “The staff here are all bomb! Dr. Grossman and his staff are the best. The BOSS Barbara, and nurses Betty, Jay, Emily, Julio, Lolita and Stephanie (with the best scrubs ever!) are all taking the best care of me.
“Despite any rumors you might have heard via my EX-wife Shanna Moakler, who I have not seen since the week I checked in, I’ve been treated amazingly well, both here in L.A. and in Georgia,” says the rocker, who also posted photos from his hospital bed. “The hospitals I’ve been treated at are THE BEST.”
His friends and family “have been amazing,” Barker adds. “My pops has been with me ANY time I need him. My sisters, James, Skinhead Rob, Daniel, Hoover, Armen and, of course, Ricardo and Nicole have all shown amazing support. JD and Mark Hoppus both took the time to come visit and offer their support as well. Estevan Oriol even came in with a calendar.”
Of his assistant Chris Baker, 29, and his security guard Charles Still, 29 (who perished in the crash), Barker writes: “Chris and Che were my friends. I would give up anything to have them here with us today, healthy and happy. To call them my employees does them such a disservice, as they were so much more than that. Chris was my best friend before anything else, and I can never put into words how much he will be missed. Che was an amazing person as well, and I was honored to have him in my life.
“I am simply amazed and will be forever grateful for all the support everyone has shown to Chris and Che’s families,” he says. “It’s a testament to how many lives they touched in a positive way.”
Before signing off, Barker writes: “I’m just counting the days until I can leave. I can’t wait to get home to play drums with my son, and go for bike rides with my daughter. I can’t wait to see the pictures from Landon’s “Jack and Sally Nightmare Before Christmas” birthday party that we had for him today.
“I am bummed that I couldn’t be there,” he says, “but thank God I’ll be around to see many, many more.”
Barker recently opened up to Us Weekly, saying, “I’m just thankful to be alive.”
