The ‘Sister Act’ star was interviewing Clare Danes on panel show ‘The View’ when she farted, and quickly owned up to the incident.

Looking around to a giggling audience, she said: “Oh excuse me, I just let a frog out there.”
Clare responded: “It’s OK!”

However, far from being embarrassed the 56-year-old star continued to interview the actress without mentioning it again.

A spokesperson from network ABC did not confirm that the incident was real and suggested it may have just been a joke.

The representative said: “It was clearly a joke and all in good fun. Secretly we hoped it would get posted on YouToot.”

Whoopi is not the only star to have used a fart noise to make people laugh – Hollywood hunk George Clooney, himself renowned for practical jokes, loved making the sound when on the set of ‘The Descendants’.

His co-star Shailene Woodley said: “We didn’t get any infamous George Clooney pranks, because it was a very family based environment because we had a 10-year-old on set. But we did get a lot of the fart application on the phone. George loves that.”

What 5 books have most impacted Whoopi Goldberg?  The Little Prince, Peter Pan, The Wizard of Oz, To Kill a Mockingbird, and East of Eden.

Today on The View, Whoopi kicked off Scholastic’s “One Million Bookprints for One Million Books campaign – an initiative to donate one million books to kids in need through the literacy nonprofit  Reach Out and Read.  For every person who shares their bookprint (the 5 books that have impacted your life), Scholastic Book Clubs will donate a book to a child in need.   Other celebrities including Nicole Kidman, Goldie Hawn, Taylor Swift, Emma Thompson, Tom Hanks, and Sarah Jessica Parker are also helping out by joining the YouAreWhatYouRead.com online book community.

As part of the launch, Whoopi went to Bellevue Hospital Pediatric Clinic in New York and read “Giraffes Can’t Dance” by Giles Andreae to young Reach Our and Reach patients.

Whoopi Goldberg tells Usmagazine.com her cancer-stricken Ghost costar Patrick Swayze is “doing the best he can.”

“He’s kicking butt,” she told Us Monday at the 1st Annual Blossom Ball in NYC. “And, you know, he’s sick. And he, like the rest of us, doesn’t know when it’s going to happen – because it will happen, that he is going to go – but he doesn’t know when or where.”

“His attitude is, why wait for it to happen?” she went on. “So he’s busy as hell.”

Since he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer more than a year ago, the 56-year-old actor — who denied reports in March that he is nearing “the end” — has thrown himself into work.

He’s writing a memoir and filmed the first season of A&E’s crime drama, The Beast, which concludes its season April 23. It remains to be seen whether the show will be picked up.

“As has been the case from day one, it is all about Patrick — in a lot of ways,” A&E President Bob DeBitetto recently told the Associated Press. “It is about his condition, and when and whether he would be up for another grueling production schedule.”

The “View” star had to take a bus back and forth to LA last month when the show taped there for a week. But she more recently was able to fly to London, where the musical version of the movie “Sister Act,” of which she owns a small piece, starts previews next month. Goldberg went on a private jet accompanied by a doctor who stood by with needles and sedatives in case she panicked. “I had a guy with me, but I didn’t need it,” she told Page Six. “I’m kinda proud.” Goldberg prepared by participating in a program run by Virgin Atlantic, where she sat down with a psychologist and a pilot. Now she’s so confident, “I’m going to fly to the West Coast to surprise my daughter.” She’s proud that three of her movies will end up as musicals. Besides “Color Purple” and “Sister Act,” there’s “Ghost” with songs by Eurythmic Dave Stewart.

You guys gotta admit Whoopi Goldberg does look a lot like the Cheshire Cat!

Whoopi Goldberg revealed Monday night at Cooper Union. Whoopi – part of a panel discussion on Art and Educational Justice hosted by the Stella Adler Studio with Rosie Perez, Phylicia Rashad and Anna Deavere Smith – said of her conservative co-host: “Politically we could not be more opposite, but I respect her tremendously. Truth is, we could not have a dialogue without Elizabeth. It’s not that we have to agree, the important thing is that we have the conversation.” The Post’s Sandra Guzman also reports Perez confessed she used to enjoy smoking pot and watching “American Idol,” which she found “hilarious.”

New York Magazine is reporting that Whoopi Goldberg admits to having over 50 lovers! All I have to say is were they women or men?!

During a discussion on The View moments ago, Barbara Walters teased her Friday interviewee, the First Lady of France, Carla Bruni. She pointed out that Bruni “had over 30 lovers.” Sherri Shepherd, who admittedly has gotten around, asked in shock, “She told her husband she had 30 lovers!?” On the other side of the table, however, Whoopi Goldberg was less surprised. She flashed the number of lovers she has had in her life — a feat that required using both of her hands and her feet. Turns out she’s had “about 50.” “You should do an album!” Walters said, in awe — in reference to Bruni’s own song lyrics about her lovers. “It doesn’t matter how many people you’ve been with in your life,” Whoopi said, throwing it to commercial. “It’s who you stick with.” Which would have been a sweet sentiment, had we heard it. We were too busy sneezing coffee out of our noses.
