As he celebrates his Tuesday victory on Dancing With the Stars, Helio Castroneves has some sad news at home: He and his fiancée, business executive Aliette Vazquez, have called off their engagement.

Her rep, Howard Bragman, released the following statement to Usmagazine.com:

“This is a personal decision and I ask the media to respect the privacy of Miss Vazquez and her family. She has no plans to talk to the media, but reserves that right if she needs to clarify misinformation or defend her reputation.”

The two — who had been together for more than six years — were engaged for one year. They had planned to wed in November.

“It was time to let go,” he told Extra of the split.
