Jeff Gordon’s wife Ingrid Vandebosch gave birth to the couple’s first child today, daughter Ella Sofia Gordon.
In an announcement released on his website, Gordon, 35, said, “It’s been an absolutely incredible experience. Ingrid came through amazingly and we’re both really happy and overjoyed. We can’t wait to get home and start our lives together as a family.”
Gordon and Vandebosch, 37, have been married since November 2006.
The four-time NASCAR Cup Series champ won’t have much time to adjust to fatherhood, as he resumes his racing commitments this weekend at the Nextel Cup Series race in Northern California.
