Monday, July 13th 2009 will be Wendy Williams Day in Manhattan it was announced today by Manhattan Borough President Scott M. Stringer. Stringer surprised Williams this afternoon on her top-rated radio show with the proclamation commemorating next Monday as “Wendy Williams Day.” The day-long celebration, which was arranged by C.M.E. Management Group, LLC, coincides with the national launch of Williams’ new syndicated talk show, THE WENDY WILLIAMS SHOW, which will air in New York on WNYW-TV (FOX 5) live at 10 AM and airs on WWOR (My 9) at 10:00 PM daily, and follows on the heels of Wendy’s recent nomination to the Radio Hall of Fame.
“O.M.G this is huge, I feel like I’ve arrived! Does this mean alternate side of the street parking rules no longer apply? Just kidding, this means so much to me, this is a huge honor,” said Wendy Williams.
“Wendy Williams has been a fixture in New York media for more than 20 years, crossing platforms from radio and television all the way to the New York Times Bestseller List,” Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer said. “I am honored to celebrate the launch of Wendy’s newest project, and declare a borough-wide day of appreciation for our undisputed Queen of All Media.”
A mother and wife with a tremendously successful career as a radio personality and author, Williams has spent more than 20 years on the radio, 16 of them on the air in New York City, winning over legions of fans. Her radio show, The Wendy Williams Experience, which airs on WBLS in New York, is home to over 12 million listeners nationwide. She is the author of two New York Times best sellers, Wendy’s Got The Heat by Simon & Schuster and The Wendy Williams Experience by Dutton Books, as well as several novels.
Filmed live in New York, THE WENDY WILLIAMS SHOW will cover a mix of hot topics, celebrity news and interviews, fashion, cooking and real-life advice with a wide range of guests.
