Nicole Polizzi – better known as reality star Snooki – has acted quickly to quell rumors that the ‘Jersey Shore’ lady might be expecting her first child, with her reps flat out denying the stories and the TV personality herself taking to the radio to deny the claims that have sprung up in the past few days. The controversial reality star seems to have settled down a little since first coming to fame on the Mtv show, a stable relationship with JIONNI LAVALLE grounding the 24 year-old.

However some cryptic Tweeting last week, in which Snooki said “Late night craving…yogurt hits the fricken spot ! Mmmmmm,” has apparently been all it’s taken for her to be widely reported as expecting her first child. We couldn’t see it being the case ourselves, not for the moment anyway with the star currently leading a busy career, and it was no surprise to hear that the tales had been quashed.

Appearing on the ‘Opie And Anthony Show’ this morning, February 1st, with her friend JWOWW, she reacted angrily to the reports, saying “Does that mean they’re calling me fat? That means that I have a belly, then.” She was backed up by her pal, who claimed “It’s actually at this point insulting.” Maybe a baby Snooki isn’t on the horizon just yet then.

Despite spending a night out on the town together, Avril Lavigne and Brody Jenner are not together, according to US Weekly. The magazine has published a photo of the former couple hitting the town together in West Hollywood but a source close to the couple is quoted as saying “they are not back together” but are, in fact, “trying to figure out how to separate” after their two year relationship.

Despite some tumultuous events, including reports of a their involvement in a bar brawl in November 2011, the couple reportedly split amicably in January, after struggling to balance their relationship with Avril’s busy career. According to the magazine’s source, Brody was tired of always being her plus-one, and always going on tour with her.” They did admit, though that Jenner and Lavigne “still love each other and could get back together, but for now, he needed a break.”

Avril Lavigne, now 27 years old, has been working in the music industry since she was a teenager and is currently reported to be working on her fifth studio album. Brody Jenner, 28, is the son of Bruce Jenner, the former Olympian. Brody is also step-brother to Kim Kardashian and her younger sisters. As well as appearing in several episodes of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Brody was a star of The Hills, and Princes of Malibu.

Don Cornelius, creator of the iconic TV music and dance show “Soul Train” that helped introduce Americans to black pop culture, died on Wednesday after shooting himself in the head, Los Angeles officials said.

Police found the body of Cornelius, 75, at his house in the wealthy, hillside area of Los Angeles called Sherman Oaks at around 4 a.m on Wednesday. He was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.

“The death was reported as a suicide, a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head,” Los Angeles coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter said. Police said there was no evidence of foul play.

It was not immediately known why Cornelius would have taken his own life, although he was said to have been in failing health in recent years.

Cornelius, who launched “Soul Train” in Chicago in the early 1970s and hosted it for more than 20 years, told a judge in his 2009 divorce that he was suffering from significant health issues and wanted the case settled quickly.

“Soul Train”, which ran until 2006, became part of U.S. pop culture history, boosting the careers of newcomers like the Jackson Five and older artists such as James Brown who were trying to tap into a younger audience.

Almost immediately following news that he died, tributes poured in from the music world.

Aretha Franklin, who appeared on the dance and TV show, called his death “sad, stunning and downright shocking and a huge and momentous loss to the African-American community and the world at large.”

Composer and record producer Quincy Jones said he was “deeply saddened” at the sudden passing of his friend, colleague and business partner.

The Recording Academy, which gives out the Grammys, called Cornelius a “trailblazer” who “created a cultural phenomenon with ‘Soul Train.’”

SON OF THE ’60s

Cornelius was born in 1936 in Chicago and as an adult, became a journalist who was active in the civil rights movement. For a time, he worked at local radio station WVON, and by the late 1960s he had dreamed up the idea of a TV show dedicated to the soulful sounds of African-American music.

“Soul Train” was born with the deep-voiced Cornelius as the host who gave hip kids of the ’70s what “American Bandstand” creator Dick Clark offered TV viewers in the early days of rock ‘n’ roll — a show mixing youth, music, fashion and pop culture.

As “Soul Train” gained popularity, it crossed over into mainstream TV and allowed R&B artists the ability to broaden their fan base.

“Don played an enormous part in my career by giving me exposure when there was none for African American recording artists on television,” Dionne Warwick said in a statement. She called him “an icon of the broadcasting world.”

Cornelius hosted “Soul Train” until 1993. The show continued to air. It eventually became the longest running U.S. series in first-run syndication. Cornelius sold his company in 2008.

“Once he left the TV show, he kind of dropped out of sight… He stayed within the confines of his family and home,” Los Angeles-based black music historian Tom Reed said.

Civil rights activist Rev. Al Sharpton, a longtime friend, expressed shock and grief over Cornelius’ death.

“He brought soul music and dance to the world in a way that it had never been shown and he was a cultural game changer on a global level,” Sharpton said in a statement.

Former basketball star Earvin Magic Johnson, whose Vibe Holdings company currently owns the rights to “Soul Train”, said on his Twitter account; “`Soul Train’ taught the world how to dance! I thank (Don) for trusting me with his `Soul Train’ brand and I will carry on his legacy through it.”

A statement was posted on the Soul Train website calling Cornelius a “television visionary.”

The coroner who oversaw the inquest into the death of singer Amy Winehouse has resigned after her qualifications were questioned, her boss said Wednesday – raising the possibility the investigation may have to be held again.

Winehouse’s relatives said they were still absorbing the implications of the news and were seeking legal advice.

In October, Suzanne Greenaway ruled that the soul singer, who was found dead at her London home in July, had died from accidental alcohol poisoning.

Greenaway had been appointed an assistant deputy coroner in London in 2009 by her husband, Andrew Reid, the coroner for inner north London. But she resigned in November after authorities learned she had not been a registered U.K. lawyer for five years as required by the rules. She had practiced law for a decade in her native Australia.

Her resignation was not made public until Wednesday.

“I believed at the time that her experience as a solicitor and barrister in Australia satisfied the requirements of the post,” Reid said in a statement Wednesday. “In November of last year it became apparent that I had made an error in the appointment process and I accepted her resignation.”

Reid apparently broke no laws in appointing his wife but could have breached professional guidelines. Greenaway was one of several deputy assistant coroners.

The local authority, Camden Council, said it was confident Reid “had made an error in good faith” when he appointed his wife, but said the matter was being investigated by Britain’s Office for Judicial Complaints.

Greenaway oversaw 12 inquests in Camden, the north London borough where Winehouse lived, and others in east London. Reid said he was “confident that all of the inquests handled were done so correctly” – but offered to hold those inquests over again if the families of the deceased wanted it.

Winehouse’s family said it had not yet decided what to do. In a statement, the family said it was “taking advice on the implications of this and will decide if any further discussion with the authorities is needed.”

Winehouse’s inquest could be declared invalid if her family challenges the verdict in court. But on Wednesday her father, Mitch, appeared to downplay the likelihood, tweeting: “Don’t worry about coroner nonsense. We are all OK.”

A security guard found Winehouse dead in bed on July 23 at her home in Camden. The 27-year-old singer, known for her distinctive beehive hairdos and multiple Grammy-winning album “Back to Black,” had battled drug and alcohol addiction for years.

At the October inquest, Greenaway delivered a verdict of “death by misadventure,” saying the singer suffered accidental alcohol poisoning when she resumed drinking after weeks of abstinence.

The inquest heard evidence from a pathologist, Winehouse’s doctor, the security guard who found her and a detective who described seeing three empty vodka bottles in her bedroom. It appears unlikely that a second inquest would produce a different conclusion about how she died.

“Back to Black” brought Winehouse global fame and its updated take on old-time soul, jazz, rock and doo-wop earned five Grammy Awards.

Although the singer was adored by fans worldwide for her unique voice and style, praise for her singing was often eclipsed by lurid headlines about her destructive relationships and erratic behavior. Winehouse herself turned to her tumultuous life and personal demons for material, resulting in hit songs such as “Rehab” and “Love Is a Losing Game.”

Neil Patrick Harris is the ultimate jack-of-all-trades. The 38-year-old actor (who can sing, dance, act, and host) has gone from an underage doctor on Doogie Howser, M.D. to a genuine Hollywood triple threat.
Harris recently talked to Parade.com about this season of How I Met Your Mother, his most important role as dad to one-year-old twins Harper and Gideon with partner David Burtka, and much more. On his role as Barney Stinson on How I Met Your Mother, Harris tells Parade.com: “He’s a rakish, drunken, hilarious crazy man. As an actor, you most often play relatively average parts, so to get to play extreme versions of anything, those are the most exciting parts. It’s been a great blessing. He is this sort of crazy alpha male version of myself. He’s a real hoot to play.”

Here are some more highlights from Parade.com’s interview with Neil Patrick Harris:

On being a triple threat in Hollywood…
“I’m probably my biggest critic. I worry that if you spend any quality time reveling in good things then karma will slap you upside the head, so I try to stay as even keel as I’m able.”

On the secret to balancing his busy career and fatherhood…
“I have an unbelievable assistant who handles all of my scheduling! It’s like a Tetris game. I’ve been doing this for a while and sometimes you have spells of busyness and other times you’re clamoring for work. It’s nice to not be put out by being so busy, but to try to embrace it and make smart choices. I guess I’m in a nice position that way. I get to choose things that interest me as opposed to trying to get any job that will have me, which for a vast majority of actors is the case.”

On his favorite thing about being a father…
“I love watching them learn to understand language. And watching them interact with each other is fantastic. We’re lucky that we have two because they always have a playmate and they get to learn complicated concepts like sharing and cooperation. They get to learn those things a little earlier because they’re with each other all the time. Watching their minds tick is fun.”

Golden Globe winner and Oscar nominee, OCTAVIA SPENCER makes an appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Wednesday, February 1, 2012. Octavia talks with Ellen about wearing triple spanx for the award shows and the embarrassing bet she had to pay off when President Obama was elected to office.

Octavia on wearing triple spanxs…

Ellen: I know when you have these awards. There are a lot of fittings. There are a lot of dresses. Is that stressful?

Octavia: It is very stressful. I was not a girl scout but I try to be very prepared. I try to over prepare, shoes and spanx. I triple spanx. Which is not good. Spanx really, really work but you don’t need to over due it.

Ellen: Are you serious about that? You had three pairs of spanx on?

Octavia: Oh, Ellen…I could not party that night because I was being pinched in places that I didn’t know it was possible. I ran into Melissa McCarthy who is in “Bridesmaids” and brilliant, one of my closest friends. I said, oh my god Melissa, I’m about to die. My spanx are killing me. She said, I just went to the bathroom and took mine off.

Ellen: Did you take yours off?

Octavia: I had to get into the car because I was triple spanxed. You can’t just leave one pair of spanx.

Ellen: I can’t even imagine.

Octavia: It’s wonderful because it gives you the illusion of an hourglass with the sand kind of spread out…

Octavia on her bet with Tate Taylor on President Obama being electecd…

Ellen: What is this bet that you had was this with Tate (Taylor)? You had a bet?

Octavia: Yes, it serves me well. I totally did not think that America was ready for an African American President. And, flapping my big mouth, I said Tate if America elects a black man to president. I will run down the street naked. And when they did. I said you know what, I have to pay this bet off. But I did it on my own way. I basically wore my underwear, bra and panties. Which…ok….and Uggs because it was November. He said, well if you’re not going to do it naked you have to scream, “A black man has been elected to the White House.” So I ran down the street screaming it and all of our neighbors came out. It was so embarrassing.

Ellen: You’re worrying about triple spanxing and you’re running down the street naked in your underwear with Uggs…

Christina Aguilera may have delivered a heartfelt performance at Etta James’ funeral on Saturday, but the singer’s tribute was overlooked when spectators caught a glimpse of her dirrty legs.

While belting out James’ classic song “At Last” at a Los Angeles-area church, Aguilera appeared to have suffered a beauty blunder as streaks of fake tanner ran down the side and front of both her legs.

According to reports, nerves were to blame for the mishap.

“She sang her heart out. It was a memorial service for her idol and she was nervous,” a source explained to Us Weekly. “It was her proudest moment. The sweat caused her spray tan to streak.”

The songstress, clad in a cleavage-baring blazer and hip-hugging black skirt, seemed unfazed by the faux pas as she sang, however video shows her subtly wiping away the liquid with her sleeve before beginning her first note.

She is again seen casually using her left leg to blend the stain on her other leg towards the end of the song.

This isn’t the first public mishap for the 31-year-old performer. Within the past year, the singer has taken a tumble onstage at the Grammy Awards and butchered the National Anthem during the 2011 Super Bowl.

Regardless, Aguilera didn’t let her embarrassing tan lines get in the way of her tribute.
