KIDinaKORNER/Interscope Records artists Imagine Dragons have been tapped by MTV as its PUSH artist of the week for April 16th. Throughout the week, MTV will feature exclusive content including the premiere of the Las Vegas band’s new video for their current single “It’s Time” across all of its television and digital platforms. “It’s Time” is rocketing up the Alternative Rock radio chart where it is currently positioned at No. 14. The track is the first single off Imagine Dragons latest EP Continued Silence, which is currently No. 6 on Soundscan’s Alternative New Artist Albums chart (iTunes).

“Any time I hear music, I also see visuals in my mind,” says Imagine Dragons’ lead singer Dan Reynolds of the video, which was shot on a dry lake bed in Barstow, CA. “’It’s Time’ is an emotional song that was written at a very transitional period of my life. I’ve always loved conceptual videos that leave room for the viewer room to interpret it in a way that is most personal to them. That is what we tried to do with this video. The director had a great vision for representing the song’s meaning in a subtle way. We wanted the video to be cinematic and true to the song.”

Actress Susan Sarandon, 65,  sat down with Parade.com to discuss her latest film Jeff, Who Lives At Home,  along with a  variety of subjects spanning from growing older (“you don’t want to see me running around naked at this point”), what makes her sexy, and being a mom to her three kids Eva, Jack, and Miles. She also talked about the unconventional relationship her character has in Jeff and whether that friendship with a female co-worker ends up being more than that (they share a kiss). Sarandon, who separated from partner Tim Robbins in December 2009, also talked about continuing to be open to love and how her job makes her better at it.

Here’s a look at some highlights from the Parade.com interview:

On having an onscreen relationship with a woman in Jeff
“I don’t think [the nature of their relationship] is very conclusive. It was something I didn’t see coming. We didn’t want to make it seem as if being gay was bad but we wanted to find out what that relationship would be besides a sexual one. It’s really about being intimate with a person and being open to love. The label thing is a fairly recent thing. To have to label yourself conclusively. When I was coming of age in the sixties, I had gay boyfriends who had never been with another woman. And after me, weren’t with women but [we] had a sexual relationship, had a relationship, and you didn’t have to declare yourself. It was a much more fluid kind of thing. [For my character] it was taking a step to being open to this possibility and someone saying, ‘Don’t you want to be with someone who appreciates you?’ Well, who can say no to that?”

Sarandon’s parenting philosophy, including views on her kids smoking pot….
“I said no to my kids a lot about certain things and made them accountable for where they were. But in other areas I probably seemed more relaxed. My boys definitely come down on the side of Jeff. I don’t mind if they smoke weed if it’s not constantly. And I would welcome them home as long as they picked up their towels. I always have a lot of kids around and am always explaining to them that they need to be responsible for their friends too. My eldest son graduated from USC in May and he was hired to go across the United States and film different demographics of homeless people. When he arrived with his crew in July, they stayed until mid-September when I kicked them out since I had to get his brother to school. That was fabulous, there were kids everywhere, but it was a struggle to not act like it was a crash pad. They have to respect your house.”

On modeling with her 27-year-old daughter Eva…
“I knew she would look great but I wasn’t so sure about me. I always feel like I look like Dr. Ruth compared to her. She wears these high, high heels— I can’t wear high heels— so she’s six feet tall and I feel like I’m shrinking and fat. When we’re on the red carpet together, it’s humiliating.”

Her current thoughts on love…
“It’s all about expressing your love constantly. My kids are so sick of text messages from me telling them I love them. Tell your friends, telling your relatives. I’m totally open to loving. I am in a job that makes you use that muscle. When you are connected to another person onscreen and listening, that is the openness that loving is about. The way I’ve gotten this reputation for being sexual is because I am a good listener— that connection onscreen is chemistry. I crave that, I try to give that. I think it’s the healthiest thing for a person to do. Are you vulnerable? Yeah, but the love vibration is what keeps you going. I highly recommend it and whenever possible, I’m there.”

“Behind The Music: Nas” – premieres Wednesday, april 18, 2012 at 9pm ET/PT
Behind The Music: Nas” tells the story of one of hip hop’s most daring and prolific icons. Raised in the gritty Queensbridge projects of New York City, Nas narrowly escaped his violent surroundings. He later channeled his experiences into a lyrical style that would revolutionize hip hop.  A musical legend by the age of 20, Nas’ passion for music has carried him through a tumultuous career. Despite very public distractions including multiple feuds with hip hop’s biggest names, political controversy, a highly publicized divorce with R&B star Kelis, as well as the devastating loss of his mother, Nas’ seven consecutive platinum albums have cemented him as one of the greatest hip hop artists of all time. The special features candid interviews with Nas, members of his family, friends and hip hop luminaries including Russell Simmons, Q-Tip and Common. “Behind the Music: Nas” is the truly unfiltered story of Nasir Jones as it’s never been told before.

Actress MARISKA HARGITAY makes an appearance on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Wednesday, April 18th. Ellen talks with Mariska about the unexpected adoption of her son, Andrew.

Mariska on adopting her son…

Mariska: We got a call out of nowhere from our lawyer who said, we have this amazing little boy and this amazing opportunity. It was just one of those things that we were not expecting at all and my husband and I looked at each other and have never been more sure about anything, and knew it was just right.

Ellen: Wow, so between the call that you get and the time the baby came to your house?

Mariska: Well, with my son it was a different story. It was very different with my son it all happened very quickly and that’s not usually how it happens. I would say usually it takes the same about of time it takes for a baby to grow in yourbelly. With my daughter it took months and months and with my son it was…truth be told it was two days.

Ellen: Wow.

Mariska; Yeah.

Ellen: You get the call and you have baby. How old was your daughter at this point?

Mariska: 6 months

Ellen: So you get a call. Another little baby. And you’re like ok, and then two days later?

Mariska: Hi…

Ellen: How old was he?

Mariska: He was two months old already.

Mariska: It was very exciting and it felt like nothing shy of a miracle. This year has been a year of true blessings…way to make me cry Ellen…

Ellen: I don’t want to make you cry. I want to make you smile and laugh…

In Berry‘s first red carpet appearance since her engagement to French actor Olivier Martinez was made public, the actress laughed with Seymour about it, saying, “Who knew? I swore it off, right? Never say never, people!”

Berry was thrilled to be the Silver Rose Gala Chairwoman. “Being a mother is probably my greatest sense of purpose, but this gives me another sense of purpose outside my own family.”

The Oscar winner said honoree Shinal Walker, a survivor of domestic abuse and now an advocate, inspires her every day. Berry gushed, “She’s extremely beautiful. I call her my beauty. I think many people think domestic violence doesn’t affect beautiful people. But domestic violence transcends the physical selves. It’s something deep inside us that needs real healing.”

Ingrid Roberts, honored for 10 years of volunteer service, paid tribute to Halle. “She gets in there and rolls up her sleeves and is so passionately committed to everything we do.”

Multi-platinum global superstar Nelly Furtado has revealed the title and release date of her upcoming fifth album. The Spirit Indestructible will be released on June 19th, and the album’s first single, “Big Hoops (Bigger is Better)” (which Furtado co-wrote with Rodney Jerkins), will be available tomorrow on iTunes.

Furtado co-wrote each song on The Spirit Indestructible, which, in keeping with her musically eclectic nature, finds her working with an array of collaborators from across the musical spectrum, including hip-hop songwriter-producer Salaam Remi (Furtado’s “The Night is Young,” Nas), pop songwriter-producer Rodney Jerkins (Michael Jackson, Beyonce and Lady Gaga), veteran metal producer Bob Rock (Metallica), Dutch DJ and EDM producer Tiesto, rock songwriter and producer John Shanks, and Jamaican reggae producer Da Genius. A deluxe version of the album will feature several bonus tracks, including Furtado’s collaborations with Fraser T. Smith (Adele), producer and Passion Pit lead singer Mike Angelakos, and a track featuring the Kenyan Boys Choir that Furtado produced herself.

“I began writing these songs around the time I released my Spanish album Mi Plan,” Furtado says. “I was in a great headspace, feeling refreshed and ready to really deliver in English again. This album is all about positivity, youth, good energy, and the relentlessness of the spirit. I want people to live this music the way we did when we wrote it. I want them to jump, dance, scream, laugh, cry, love, and vibe to it, and to turn it up very loud everywhere.”

The Spirit Indestructible is Furtado’s first English-language studio album since 2006’s double-platinum Loose, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart, was certified multi-platinum in 32 countries, and sold 10 million copies worldwide. Loose also spawned three hit singles, including the No. 1’s “Promiscuous” and “Say It Right,” both of which earned Furtado Grammy Award nominations.
