Fitty (real name: Curtis Jackson), may not have Jay-Z’s 99 problems, but he’s got recurring trouble over illicit use of his American Express number.

The 35-year-old Jamaica, Queens, native now lives in Farmington, Conn. — where “he’s the biggest star we have,” as one source close to the situation puts it. His prominence in the tiny Nutmeg State may make Jackson a target when it comes to credit-card fraud.

Our source says thieves have tried to use Amex numbers belonging to Jackson to make unauthorized purchases in at least five cities since 2007, including Farmington and Hartford in Connecticut, as well as in New York. The root of Fitty’s problem may be someone who has access to his personal information, adds the source.

Late last year, a man called a West Hartford electronics boutique to order two Sony flat-screen televisions worth approximately $1,000 each, our source says.

When the caller said he was out of state and asked to have the TVs delivered to a Hartford address, store managers became suspicious, the source says, and reported the credit-card number to Amex.

The number belonged to Jackson, and while the card had not been reported stolen, the store’s wary management decided not to deliver the TVs.

Their instincts proved to be on the money. According to the source, Amex eventually got back to the electronics boutique to warn that the digits were indeed pilfered.

When the caller wanted to know why his flat-screens hadn’t been delivered, he was told he could come get them himself.

Two young men arrived in a rented car to pick up the TVs — and cops were waiting to arrest them. The source says they are not believed to be the masterminds behind the attempted crime.

American Express contacted 50 Cent to tell him what happened, and our source says the rapper “left it up to the court” to decide how the two men should be charged.

Frank Canace, a defense attorney for one of the men arrested, Daniel Vargas, said he could not comment on the case because it was still pending, but he confirmed what was in the court record concerning his client.

Canace, who’s also a Connecticut police officer, said he’s been “in court at least three times” when 50 Cent’s name “has popped up as a victim of credit card crime.”

An American Express spokeswoman reiterated that it “will not hold our card members liable for any fraudulent charges.”

A spokeswoman for 50 Cent had no comment.

The rapper/actor and his entourage came late to the Peggy Siegal Company’s party for “Scream 4″ at Mr. H in the Mondrian SoHo hotel on Tuesday evening, but gave the crowd one good reason to stay: an impromptu striptease that had actor David Arquette reaching for his wallet.

The rapper, who co-hosted the evening, did make it to the screening of the horror film at the Crosby Street Hotel earlier in the night, where he got some love from “Scream 4″ producer Harvey Weinstein.

Weinstein introduced 50 Cent to the crowd by noting that the rapper (whose real name is Curtis Jackson), hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons, also in the house, and Weinstein himself were all Queens boys who’d made good.

50 Cent told the audience that posing for pictures at the screening with Arquette, a star of the movie, had upped his “street credibility.”

Both men would improve on those credentials later, when they arrived within five minutes of each other at Mr. H a little before midnight. Although it was just a couple of blocks from the screening, which ended at 9:45, 50 Cent claimed he had been “changing” from a natty three-piece suit into jeans.

Flowing behind him like a lengthy human scarf was an entourage that included boxer Floyd Mayweather and singer Eve.

Arquette arrived alone right after, and our source says the relatively low-key party soon took a turn for the uninhibited.

The insider says a member of 50 Cent’s entourage coaxed a hot blond female Mr. H employee to hit the stripper pole near the deejay booth, and the woman stripped off her “Japanese-style fitted dress” to reveal a red bra, black underwear and an array of tattoos.

We suspect this wasn’t the impromptu exhibitionist’s first pole dance. “She worked that thing like I’ve never seen,” says our source — in black patent-leather pumps, no less.

The woman wasn’t completely devoid of modesty, however. When a partygoer tried to snap a photo, she paused her performance long enough to snatch the camera out of the woman’s hands, insisting: “No pictures!”

She wasn’t opposed to a tip, however. The source tells us Arquette, who separated from “Scream” co-star and wife Courteney Cox in October, was “mesmerized” by the woman, and handed her money when she finished her gyrations.

Arquette then spent some time “dancing by himself, with his eyes closed,” until he approached “Catfish” actor Nev Schulman and two young ladies who were with him. “He just moved in,” the insider says, and “they all just kind of danced in a circle together.”

Rap superstar 50 Cent came under attack from some of his Twitter.com followers over the weekend after making a series of tongue-in-cheek comments about the Japanese tsunami and earthquake disaster.

The In Da Club hitmaker, real name Curtis Jackson, took to the micro-blogging site on Friday to share his shock over the natural disasters and reveal his plans to leave Los Angeles, after the entire U.S. west coast and countries in the Pacific Rim were placed on tsunami alert.

In a series of posts, he wrote, “Man I hate to say this but the world is coming to a end. Look at japan tell the people you value you love them… US west coast Tusnami watch f**k this I’m going back to new york.”
But 50 Cent’s tone soon shifted and he sparked controversy online when he appeared to make light of the situation.

He continued, “Hawaii under a watch this s**t is crazy. I can’t swim… Now they are saying they know it’s gonna hit the west coast damn.

“Wave will hit 8am them crazy white boys gonna try to go surfing. Look this is very serious people I had to evacuate all my hoe’s from LA,Hawaii and Japan. I had to do it. Lol.”

The messages prompted a backlash from some of his four million Twitter fans, who branded him “an a**hole” and “insensitive” for joking about the Japanese tragedy, prompting 50 to reign in his sarcasm.

In a final post about the earthquake and tsunami, he added, “Nah this is nuts but what can anyone do about it. Let’s pray for anyone who has lost someone.

“Some of my tweets are ignorant I do it for shock value. Hate it or love it. I’m cool either way.”

Kelly Osbourne appears to be among those appalled by his comments, taking to her Twitter accound on Monday to scold, “its truly disgusting that people r making jokes about whats going on in Japan not 2 mention posting videos thanking god. it makes me sick!”

He famously launched onto the music scene with his 2003 multi-million-selling album Get Rich Or Die Tryin’ – and 50 Cent has shown his dogged commitment to success in his latest film role.

The 35-year-old rapstar – real name Curtis Jackson – underwent drastic weightloss to play an American football player stricken with cancer to the extent he almost looked on the brink of death in real life.

The star went on a strict liquid diet and spent three hours every day in the gym to lose 60 pounds in two months to drop to under 150 pounds for his starring role in Things Fall Apart.

The usually musclebound singer however has since put the weight back on since he finished shooting the film, which also stars Ray Liotta, last summer.

‘Fiddy’ said he was inspired to lose the weight by Robert De Niro who lost 35lbs for his award-winning role in Taxi Driver in 1976.

Director Mario Van Peebles paid tribute to the rapper, saying: ‘50 was not at all what I expected. 50 is a really focused, bright, disciplined, affable cat. In terms of directing him, he’s a dream.’

And in another sacrifice to his craft, Fiddy also had his tattoos removed on his arms after getting fed up of the time spent in make-up getting the covered up before going in front of the cameras.

He admitted: ‘I took ‘em off. I’ve been on a few acting projects and they been making me get up… My call time is four hours before the regular acting talent because of the tattoos.’

The rapper’s achievement still does not top that of recent Oscar winner Christian Bale, who lost 63lbs for his role in The Machinist.

Bale went from 185lbs to 122lbs to look like he ‘had not slept for a year’ and did it by cutting out most foods and relentlessly exercising.

Former drug-dealer Fiddy meanwhile has turned out to be quite the renaissance man.

As well as his music and acting career, the former Eminem protegé wrote a self-help business guide called the 50th Law.

Meanwhile, he’s become the latest star to donate money earned from an event linked to Libyan leader Muammar Gadaffi to charity.

The rapper announced he will be making a donation to Unicef to help with that organization’s relief efforts in the turmoil-hit country.

A representative for the star said: ‘In light of the on-going events in Libya, 50 Cent will be making a donation to Unicef, which is providing vital relief supplies to meet the needs of women and children at risk during this crisis.’

50 Cent performed at a private event during the 2005 Venice Film Festival that was later linked to the Gaddafi clan. Gaddafi is battling rebels who are revolting against his rule, and faces an investigation for possible war crimes.

Last week, Beyonce, Usher, Mariah Carey and Nelly Furtado announced donations to charity in the wake of their participation in private concerts connected to the Gaddafis.

Things Fall Apart is due out later this year, although a cinema release has yet to be confirmed.

50 Cent has donned dreadlocks for his latest movie role, which will premiere this weekend at the Miami Film Festival in Florida.

The rapper lost 54 pounds to star in Things Fall Apart, in which he portrays a promising Michigan football star who dreams of one day getting drafted by the Miami Dolphins.

The Social Network actor Cedric Sanders plays the rapper’s brother in the movie, and he insists the In Da Club hitmaker has a great film career ahead of him.

He says, “I’m proud to have been a part of this film. Working with 50 Cent was truly inspiring. We’d have a break from rehearsals and he would immediately head outside to workout.”

They announced at Sundance that they’d partner on movie projects through Fitty’s Cheetah Vision Films and Mayweather’s Mayweather Films, but also told us they want to develop a reality show centered around their friendship.

Mayweather was featured in VH1′s “What Chilli Wants” as a love interest of Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas of pop group TLC.

Fitty’s and Mayweather’s first film will be “Tomorrow Today,” based on one of the rapper’s first screenplays.

Rapper 50 Cent is said to have made more than $8 million in just two days, after using Twitter to promote a company he owns shares in.

The 35-year-old hip hop star, real name Curtis Jackson, helped boost the shares of money-losing marketing company H & H Imports after plugging it on the social networking site this weekend.

‘You can double your money right now. Just get what you can afford,’ Jackson tweeted about the Florida based company.

‘They are no joke get in now,’ he told his 3.8 million Twitter followers.

According to the New York Post, Jackson’s tweets increased his shares in the company to a value of $8.7M.

It is reported that Jackson received 30 million shares in H & H Imports last October and can cash in the stock as it rises.
However the rapper has since removed the tweets and wrote: ‘I own HNHI stock. Thoughts on it are my opinion. Talk to financial adviser about it.’

He added: HNHI is the right investment for me it may or may not be right for u! Do ur homework.’

There is some speculation that the rapper could now be the subject of an investigation by the Securities and Exchange Commission.

However a representative for the SEC declined to comment, saying: ‘We never confirm or deny whether an investigation is ongoing.’

A spokesperson for 50 Cent was not available to comment when contacted by the media.
